Questions & Answers

In comparison with chrome and nickel, what's the difference? On the Schaller website, they look nearly identical.?

It is a bit brighter and more translucent than the Chrome color There is a difference in color between nickel and copper While the chrome Schaller Strap locks are nicer, all of them work very well. My only brand of choice unless I am involved in some sort of deal with someone of another brand Schaller is a great brand, and you're on the right track.

For my Gibson ES-100, I recently purchased these Despite the long screws, the 339 is not functional. Could you please let me know what I should ?

It would have been better if they had come with two screws of different lengths. The length of two is longer than the regular length of two. Taking it to your local luthier would be a good idea if you don't feel comfortable using the longer screws.

Is there a difference between this and the "Schaller guitar strap locks and buttons (pair) gold" part other than the 2 dollars?

It is likely that the seller is to blame. The gold strap lock is the only one Schaller makes despite the fact that it comes in a wide range of colors.

What do you think about the new Shaller "S-" What are the options for a lock? Does it come in chrome ?

There are, in fact, both chrome and nickel to choose from. There is also a gold and a

The construction is excellent and it is Since the early 90s, I have used Schaller locking strap locks on every single guitar I own
5/5

Since I first started playing guitar 20 years ago, I have never had a guitar break, come undone, or fall off. Almost every new one I bought from then on, or was included with a new (fender) guitar, broke and broke. There is some reason, and I am convinced that it can be attributed to the material of the inner washer, why all of them It was for this reason that I stopped using them. I just wanted to let you know that my old ones are still A new design was then released promising a more secure attachment with a quieter sound. Since they're expensive and as a result of the low quality original design produced by Shaller over the last couple of decades, I had been hesitant to use them It was my fault. Thankfully, they are indeed, once again, one of the best purchases I have made. It will take an allen wrench to install the screws, and a small screwdriver, similar to the one used to fix glasses, neither of which is included with the kit. It is possible to use thick leather straps, which I do, and none of them have caused me any problems with fit, as far as I am concerned. That small screwdriver will do the trick for tightening the nut on the strap, which keeps it securely in place Old design of the screw holes got in the way of installing the screws in the holes. It was a common trick to insert a toothpick to make the grip easier. As a result of the new button and screw being combined, the old hack is no longer necessary. The screw will be attached with an allen wrench that you own. I have no problems with it. One issue, however, has come to my attention. A few screws slowly unscrew from the body of my Fender Strat Elite, which is made of ash. This is nothing more than wearing my guitar on and off, taking it on and off regularly, and it takes several weeks, but at some point I'll look down and see that the strap is attached perfectly to the button, but the screw is almost completely detached from the button. With just a quick hand wrench, everything is fine again, at least until a few That is why I have to keep checking on it continuously. As a side note, it hasn't happened with any other guitars I use these picks It has not manifested on any of my other guitars such as the Les Paul, Telecaster, Flying V, Explorer, etc. believe it has something to do with the new design and the tight grip of the Ash wood. We might be able to fix it with a little glue. Unless the new design proved to be really quiet, it will be noisy. It is a fact that those of us who used the original design will attest to their noisy and clattery nature. As a result, you actually heard the noise coming through your guitar amplifier. New ones have indeed solved this problem brilliantly, and adding them to the design is a welcome addition. They are expensive, but they are well worth the investment when it comes to protecting fine guitars from the damage that occurs all too often when a strap comes off the button when the guitar is being played. Some tools are needed, and those with ASH guitars may want to keep an eye on those screws or get some glue on the job. Taking it all into account. If you got the older design for free or for sale, I strongly recommend purchasing the new design and do not recommend using or purchasing the older version. There is a problem with them. Schaller has done a good job with the new design, proving once again that they manufacture excellent products.

The easiest thing you can do to yourself This is the easiest upgrade you've ever installed! photograph a good deal of local shows and have had the misfortune to witness a few guitars being dropped on stage due to artists using the standard OEM strap buttons without My current collection consists of 9 guitars and although not all of them are expensive, I have invested a great deal of time and effort into them
5/5

In addition, I am not a fan of reed guitars. Whenever I see an instrument, I see an investment, and the way it is presented shows a little about its owner. An indicator of fakeness in a pre-election I am not impressed by a guitar that is deliberately worn out. The same is true for a car or a house. The way they look reflects how well you care for them. The guitar I buy may only cost me $200, but I want it to look nice and reflect that I treat my gear well. In the same way, if you take care of them, they will be there for you when you need them most. So, I've made a small investment on my guitar to ensure it doesn't bounce on the floor or stage and crack or damage something I regard as part of me. Even ruining a performance would be bad enough!.

An upgrade to this design that is both small and significant
5/5

Since the middle of the last century, I have been using Schaller strap locks Since I'm not a fan of the original design, I've been buying the Fender versions produced under license, which are Due to Schaller's revisions, all of the little inconveniences of the previous design have now been eliminated. The leather and padding of longer shafts go well with thick leather A set screw is used to secure the ring into place the ring can easily be tightened with fingers There is no chance that the ball end will fall off the shaft because it is one piece. Even if all of these are minor issues, they make a world of difference as soon as they fail. Unlike other locks on the market, strap locks are things you want to set and forget about, and all of the tweaks to the original design are good and welcome. Basically, they have listened to the customers who were disappointed, and they have re-designed He designed the system so that all traditional weak points would be removed. This is an investment well worth making!.

That was a big disappointment
3/5

It is my favorite brand of strap locks, and I've used them for years without any problems.
I was thrilled to see that Schaller replaced the old strap lock design with the new "S locks. " I was able to get them installed on my guitar with no issues and I found them to be It wasn't until I inspected the design that I realized that I was mistaken. It is hard to actually move the strap locks once they are attached to the guitar, so the new "noiseless" design is only noiseless because moving the strap locks is so time-consuming. There is a strong grip between the strap lock on the strap and the button, which makes it more likely that you will rotate the strap lock on the strap rather than rotate the strap. The finish of the frame is chipping away, too! The finish on these has been chipping for about three months now despite the fact that I have not used or abused them at all! Furthermore, both my PRS and Kramer guitars have a lock that will never stay screwed onto the body of the guitar when I put them on. It's the first time I've unscrewed it. I tighten it as much as I can, but after a few weeks, it's not screwed. With all the problems I've had, I will not be buying these again. I really wanted to like these, but I've had a lot of problems getting them.

Despite their great looks, Straplocks are not for the faint of heart Then, you don't have to interchange them all! The straplocks on this page are some of the most popular on the market, and they are regarded as being of good The electronics on my two guitars are very easy to use, and I have already had them installed
4/5

They can be challenging to install on thick leather straps, but not impossible if you have a sharp pair of wire cutters at your disposal to widen the strap's button hole for the straplock adapter to It is important to note that the anchor screws on these buttons are wider than most guitar strap buttons, so to fit them you will need to drill a little hole in the guitar. It is highly recommended that you get the straplocks professionally installed if you have any reservations about doing this yourself. It appears that the straplocks on these are not all the same size. I have Schallers on two guitars and straps and I cannot switch them around because one sets of straplocks are larger than the other and the strap adapter will not fit without getting caught. It is important to keep this in mind if you like to use a single strap on several guitars at the same time.
