Questions & Answers

Compared to the dual design models, how is this model different?

There is a subtle difference between the two. on this "Traditional" guitar model are very large and flat at the top, and then taper down into a cone as they go to the base, with a wider cylindrical section that stands off As the Dual Design grows, it tends to get wider, but then gradually taper off. The Straplok locking ends are not installed on either model. Both models work fine with a regular strap without Straplok locking ends. With the Dual Design, the strap will be slightly closer to the body (by little more than 1/4 inch). On the other hand, that version has a cylindrical button to attach the strap to, meaning only the strap with the special end will work. There was then a flush of blood - Model in which the entire guitar button is situated in a hole much larger than the rest of the guitar body (if you forget your special strap with these ends, you are doomed). It was followed by the Dual Design, which gave you a great button that worked well with both a locking and regular strap. It was also larger than a regular strap button so it worked better with a regular one. Though I'm not certain why they added the Dual Design model, both the Traditional and Dual Design work with their locking system and standard straps of equal quality. Due to the strap not sitting directly against your instrument's body, it won't function quite as well as a strain relief for a cord if you use your strap as such.

Is there any additional drilling I need to do for an Epiphone SG? Do you just need to replace the old with the new?

You may remove &amp rephrase Put in place. The straplocks I've used so far are the most secure I've ever encountered. The EB3 bass is actually a SG body, so I've used them on that. I will take care of that

Does it deserve to be purchased?

Basically, everything they do is as it should be. It is possible that you will have to enlarge the holes on your strap so that you can take the straplocks on. This means you can only use the strap The only caveat is that. Buy if you like it It is true.

The part on the strap should be approximately how wide it is in diameter. There is a 1" wide strap on my bag. How much of this will overlap with ?

1 inch is exactly what it is. There will be a substantial overlap, but the edge might be close. The button doesn't hang over any of the straps when I have them on five.

Easy to use and of high quality
5/5

In addition, Please find below a few pictures of how the Straplok can be easily mounted and taken off, as well as a video showing how easy it is to do this. Since I purchased a heavy leather strap which will hold my guitar and my other instruments when I switch between them, this is a major factor to me. I was trying to find something that would lock and unlock my door with a push button. The other type of lock attaches differently and is pretty effective once you have it in place, but it is a bit cumbersome and difficult Additionally, it is because of that thick and quality strap that I went with the Dunlop Straplok. It was impossible for me to attach the lock to the strap when I couldn't get enough threads to grab hold of them. I was able to secure the half locking washer type piece snugly with the Straplok. and opened them to the wider setting, just barely squeezing a little and the ring snapped )

I also needed another screw to install the part on my guitar. This was not the fault of the product itself. After I had contacted Dunlop direct through their website (kmc music that sold the units for AmaZon was helpful with that), I requested more screws and they sent them. It's so great to deal with a company that not only makes great durable products but has a great customer service team.

You Here's one you should have. Also, you can choose the color of the hardware on your guitar!.

It requires you to drill a new attachment point in your guitar and install a permanent quick release in your strap, and it works like a charm
5/5

You will never have to take off the straps again Then and now. When you do this to all your guitars, you will never drop one due to the strap niggling, and you can exchange straps in just a few You are too cool for words. Make sure your guitar is well taken care of by getting The straps on this set will save you time when switching between guitars. You will even see colors (antique, gold, chrome) if you take a look around. In order to complete this project, you will A 7/64 drill, ruler, screwdriver, needle nose pliers, and some wax is needed. Installs can take as little as two minutes in most cases. The total installation time was about five minutes for a good leather strap where I had to ream out more space for the quick connect. These locks have only one bad aspect 1) you're required to drill a hole, so make sure an adult is with you if you do this. (leather), you have to remove the quick connect before you can adjust the size. So a total beginner needs to make sure the guitar strap is comfortable before securing it with a I strongly recommend getting this for all your guitars as long as you understand these points.

The Dual Design May Not Be As Reliable As the Single Design
5/5

My previous review for Dunlop's Dual Design locks is already up. I have been using them on all my basses and guitars since 1992, and I absolutely love them. I'd say they are pretty much the same, just that the strap button looks different. The main reason I bought these was to get another set of locks for a new strap. They were a hair less expensive, and Prime shipping got them to me in one As one of those guys that prefer Dunlops over Schallers, I prefer Dunlops. The performers in a scherler tend to go bad on stage more easily (have seen it There are fewer risks associated with Dunlops. Definitely worth the extra space, but it may stick out a little more. Also, as a fan of Metallica, I noticed James, Kirk, and Jason used them a lot which was a nice touch Don't mind if I do.

The effect works well, but it looks a bit absurd
5/5

They're a great product if you have many guitars but only one or two straps that you usually use, or if your guitar doesn't fit into the case with the strap, or if you travel with it often. The screw that holds these in is quite a bit bigger than the one it replaces. My button that mounts to the strap is very tightly held on, and I have no doubt that it will never come off the strap until it is taken I can wiggle it into the mount fairly securely, but it seems to click in firmly. It will come out right away when you push the button. One of my only complaints is that it looks pretty silly with the strap attached. Take a look at the photos. There's a tiny gap between the strap and the buckle. The overall impression I got from it was good. Although, I would have preferred to stick to the regular strap mounts for casual use, given how I only play casually.

A rock solid, standardized and reliable product that is worth every penny
5/5

This strap lock has been my favorite for more than 20 years and I have used it on several Using them has been a joy and makes the straps easily replaceable (the pins on different instruments can be moved 20 years apart with no problem). I also like that the pins appear to be normal, could be mistaken for original to the instrument and not an after-market replacement. Straplok straps work just like other types of straps. They are still worth the price even though it has crept up a bit. Within minutes of getting a new instrument, I have one of these installed. They are well worth ensuring your instrument stays put and doesn't fall over. There have been too many cases where head stocks have cracked even from light drops.

The service is affordable, simple, and Since I have only tried a few different brands of strap locks, I have not tried many different styles
5/5

The first set I purchased over ten years ago has served me absolutely well and I have never looked for anything better since. In addition to being easy to use, reliable, and inconspicuous, this design is also quite beautiful. My guitar strap set and guitar combo are interchangeable so quickly, and I have absolute confidence that they will remain in position. I have several sets of them now, and it is so handy to be able to switch them out so quickly. I am not overly concerned with the value of my guitars, but I would not hesitate for a second to use these strap locks on a $10,000 they have that much quality. It will be worth your while to give them a try. From now on, your straps will not cause unnecessary dents, scratches, dings, etc. As shown in the pictures, the shinier studs are dunlops, while the nickel stud is a factory Japanese Soloist stud. This is only to demonstrate the difference and minimal intrusion of the strap lock. Take part in the fun!.
