Questions & Answers

I have a few standard-sized Fender acoustic guitars with the same tuners on all of them. Is it possible to go from nonlocking to locking, and will they fit?

These should fit any guitar with 10 mm tuner holes in the headstock, whether acoustic or electric. A hand reamer (about $3 at Harbor Freight) can be used to enlarge the holes on your guitar if they are too small.

Is it possible to use these posts with strings that are 64 gauge?

You'll need bass tuners if you want to use this with your guitar. They'll do the job, but they weren't designed to do so.

Will these fit on an Oscar Schmidt OE- ftpb- ?

I'm not sure, but I put them on a Las Paul and they sound fantastic. I'm going to buy more.

Will these be compatible with the Gretsch G2622T?

They were a perfect match for my G5657T Gretsch, which has the same basic guitar hardware as my G5657T Gretsch.

I've owned a few locking tuners, and these are by far the best
5/5

For the record, despite receiving excellent products from Amazon on a regular basis, nothing has ever made me say WOW! Until now, I've owned three sets of locking tuners: fenders, hipshot, and now Guyker. Guyker, a company that has been producing high-end gear for years, didn't even hesitate when I saw these tuners, and I needed some locking tuners to keep my ESP LTD ec-lite in good working order. 256 in tune, saw these and grabbed them right away, not only are they stunning in every way, but they also work as well as they look. But what really got me with these tuners was one feature that none of the other locking tuners had: an actual feel of when the tuners were locked in on the string. It's hard to explain, but when I slowly turned the locking dial, I knew I was locked in, no "B" You may not be one to write reviews, but this purchase has forced me to do so, oh and did I mention the price? Absolute steal, hope Guyker keeps them stocked cuz I'll have to buy another set soon, believe me these are top notch tuners at an incredible price, keeping in tune through the straight and narrow.

Only OK
3/5

I bought these and installed them on an ESP LTD EC256, and they were a direct replacement with no need to drill a new hole, which was fantastic. I'm not sure if I got a bad set or if my problem is common, but I couldn't get the high E string to stay in tune without slipping. I tightened it up a little more and began tuning again, and the sting broke just as I was about to pitch. I broke two more hi E strings while attempting to find the right lock tension: not too tight that the string breaks, but not too loose that the string slips. After three broken hi E's, I gave up and wrapped the string like a normal tuner, lightly locking it in place; this worked.

They do the job, but there are a few flaws
3/5

These tuners are an improvement over stock, but they aren't fantastic. They do lock and allow for quick string changes. The tuning has remained consistent. They fit perfectly in my Epiphone 335 dot without the need for any drilling or hole rounding. I used my old screws because the screws that came with them were too small to fit the original screw holes. br>br>And now for the strangeness. To begin with, only one tuner had two metal washers, while the others all had one. They all took a few turns to get the oil around the gears and ensure that the turning was smooth. The worst part is that turning the knob tightens the lock even more. That's nice at first, but once the lock is very tight, it's difficult to tune. The lock and tuning knobs were both turning. Once everything was tightened up, it was extremely difficult to turn. When there were no strings attached, the tension on the tuning knobs was uneven. With a Phillips screwdriver, I unscrewed the knob and screwed it back in with relatively equal tension. br>br>For the money, these are a better option than non-alcoholic beverages. They're locking tuners, but they're nothing like the Planet Waves tuners I have on a few of my other guitars. I'm glad I tried them and won't be replacing them in this guitar, but I wouldn't put them on a more expensive instrument.

In comparison to most economy lockers, this is a much better option
4/5

If weight is important to you, this is an excellent choice. br>Only one post is securely attached to the lock knob. br>The post's tip appears to be machined, indicating that it will hold the string without cutting it. br>With the super cheap generic lockers, this is a major issue. br>I noticed that the gears were a little dry, so I lubricated them with a drop of oil. br>I also gave them a quick buff because the black was looking a little dull for something new. Typical installation. There aren't any issues. In terms of lockers, these are a great value. br>I like the Gotoh's smooth style, which worked well with the guitar I used them on. br>The gears still have a gritty feel to them, but nothing as bad as you'll find on the super cheap lockers. br>Lockers worth using can be found for as little as $40 shipped. These, along with Tone NInja, are the most cost-effective options. I believe the Tone Ninja are of higher quality and are slightly more expensive. br>These look really cool, so they're a good choice if you like how they look. br>Only criticism: It would be better if they were arranged in a different order.

To install on an Epiphone Les Paul, small holes must be drilled
5/5

On my Epiphone Les Paul, I've got it installed. These tuners are far superior to the factory-installed ones. With no play in the gear drive, they appear to be easier to tune; I had no trouble locking the e string, but I left enough slack on the high strings to go twice around the post. With these installed, your guitar will stay in tune longer. It's a simple upgrade that pays off big time.

However, it is appealing
3/5

I've used a lot of Guyker products, and they're all great. I am a non-smoker. On another guitar, I've tried locking versions of these tuners, and they're fantastic. These locking versions don't sit right with me. To see what could be done, I contacted both Amazon and the manufacturer. They went out of their way to help me with this. I have yet to replace the tuners. As a result of the Seller's eagerness to resolve the issue, I give him a positive rating. That means a great deal. People who are decent. The locking tuners may be overkill, but the non-locking tuners aren't. The locking system worked perfectly.

Looks fantastic, and it performs admirably
5/5

My Harley Benton CST-II is one of my favorite motorcycles. The tuners were sloppy and inaccurate on the 24T guitar. Despite the fact that the original tuners were chrome, I tried the Guyker locking tuners in black after reading a few reviews. Love em'! They have a great look and are a lot more user-friendly. The ease with which you can tune and the stability with which you can tune appear to be excellent. I am overjoyed!.

Better than stock, but E/B strings pose a problem
3/5

These are much smoother than the stock tuners on my Gretsch G5657T, and they appear to be more durable and attractive. br>br>With strings G-, the locking mechanism performed admirably. low E, but the B slipped without a lot of yanking, and the high e broke once, slipped on the second string, and I finally gave up and wrapped it around the post a few times. br>br>Getting some locking action for $40 is nice, and I've read reviews of more expensive ones that have the same problem with the E/B strings, so these seem fine for my money, and I'll probably keep them. The tuning stability of the four strings has significantly improved.
