Questions & Answers

Are these suitable for Yamaha acoustic guitars? Is it possible to use locking tuners on an acoustic guitar?

These will not work if you want to mount it on a classical guitar. If you're using a steel string acoustic guitar with three tuning machines on each side, minor hole adjustments or the addition of a new positioning screw hole should suffice. You should double-check your acoustic guitar's mounting and positioning screw holes. This one has a 6 o'clock position for the positioning screw. Drilling with a pinvise hand drill is a simple task that can be completed by hand. It is inexpensive to purchase and can be used for a variety of purposes. On my axes, I have several locking tuners, including two sets of these. This set has a lot of smoothness to it (18:1). It's only one gear ratio, but it's well worth it. I hope this has been of assistance.

Will they fit my Schecter C 6 Elite without needing to be modified?

If your anchor screws are in the 6:1 ratio, you're good to go. They should be exact replacements for the 00 o'clock position. If your anchor screws are in the 7 or 8 o'clock position, they should still fit, but you'll need to drill new anchor screw holes.

Is it necessary to drill them for the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Black and Gold?

I installed these in a Gibson SG 60's Tribute guitar. The holes needed to be widened slightly.

Is it possible to use open g on these?

I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. The only difference between these and traditional tuners is that the first rotation clips the excess string before the screw clamps it. I've never tuned in open G, but all of the tunings I've tried so far have worked perfectly.

2 different sets 100% satisfaction I have a 3x3 set on my Epi Les Paul and an Inline 6 set on my ESP LTD Sn200, both of which I adore
5/5

It took around 20 minutes to complete each set. It took 30 minutes to install, and thankfully I had planned ahead and purchased a reamer tool just in case. I only needed to use it on one hole, and the rest just fell into place. Both sets of screws worked and fit perfectly, and I always recommend using a small amount of bar soap when screwing into wood. It aids in the lubrication of the screw and facilitates installation. Just a smidgeon on the threads is all that's required. br>The number eighteen is a number that refers to the number of people who have The 1:1 ratio makes tuning a LOT more precise, and the strings actually stay in tune longer, even when bending pretty hard. The ability to cut strings is also a huge plus!
Re- Stringing takes only a few minutes now, compared to 15 to 20 minutes previously. Depending on the guitar, it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. br>Two of its most appealing features are the added cutting capability and the low price. It costs about $40 less than some other well-known brands and performs as well as, if not better than, those brands. And it's a simple fix that anyone can perform!.

This is essentially an improvement to my guitar's quality of life
5/5

Background information: I'm a complete beginner on the guitar, having only been playing for about 6 weeks. br>br>I'm a dreadful string changer. I'm not sloppy or impatient, but I find the process to be unsettling. I couldn't take it any longer after breaking a string during a routine change, so I bought locking tuning machines. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the auto-pilot function worked perfectly. The cost of trim tuning machines had come down. br>br>Installation was a breeze. Because my screw holes didn't match, I probably spent more time looking for the drill bit I needed. I'd say each tuner took less than 5 minutes to complete, even with the measuring and drilling. br>br>And they work wonders. The first snip (sixth string) was a little nerve-wracking. I had calculated how far out of tune each string would be after the string snip by the time I finished the fifth string. I actually missed the snip on the fourth string, so I turned it back a little, pushed the string down until it touched the edge, and tried it again. So, when you start turning it, make sure the string does not come into contact with the cutting edge. br>br>Tuning was a non-essential part of the process. In any case, this is probably the quickest string change and tuning I've ever done. Yes, the old screw holes still need to be filled and cleaned, but this is a cheap guitar, so it doesn't bother me. Would I buy these again? br>br>Would I recommend them to others? Absolutely, I'm excited to get my hands on the inline-6 version for my Squier Affinity Telecaster. The only question is whether I'll keep these or swap them out for the original tuners so I can use them on another guitar when I'm done with this one.

The screws that come with these are not to be used
3/5

The tuners are absolutely incredible. Over the years, I've installed several sets and have never had a problem. br>br>The screws that come with the machines are COMPLETE GARBAGE, as many other reviewers have stated. When I was installing them, three of them snapped inside the headstock. When they broke, there was very little pressure on the screw. In fact, one of the screws broke while I was backing it out. My '98 Strat Deluxe has been completely obliterated. This isn't the first time I've had to deal with a situation like this. These tuners have been installed on a number of other guitars. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with a problem like this. Daddario was emailed and asked if they would cover the repair costs (if that was even possible). If and when they respond, I'll update this review.

This part is for a Yamaha Revstar
5/5

While my Yamaha Revstar (820cr) is a nice guitar that I enjoy playing, it is not one of the two major guitar brands in the United States. I wanted to replace the stock tuners with locking ones, so I went through a lot of measurements and visual comparisons to find a set that would fit through the existing drill holes on the back of the headstock and have pegs that were the right diameter width and height. These were a good match for the job. I tried a set of hipshot GOLs, but the backside that screws into the back of the headstock was slightly shorter, requiring new holes to be drilled. I tried them on and they were a perfect match. It's worth noting that these pegs aren't quite as tall as the stock ones, resulting in a slightly more acute angle (thank you, geometry classes!). ) between the nut and the tuner pegs The tension of the strings may be slightly increased as a result of this, but it won't be significant. If you have a Yamaha Revstar, these locking tuners are what you need!.

They're simple to put together and perform admirably
5/5

I bought a Dean XZ that was not only cheap, but also looked, sounded, and felt great. The tuners were the only part of the guitar that needed to be replaced. These Planet Waves Locking tuners with auto-tuning were the choice for me. clip, while looking at the auto- As an added bonus, these have a clip feature (I prefer locking tuners and these were less expensive than the others I found). Well, the clipping feature works great (except that it didn't work on the thinnest (10) string; I guess the string was just too thin for it). So, to summarize:br>- They appear to be fantasticbr>- They were incredibly simple to put together (they fit perfectly in the existing holes - Just lined them up by eye, tightened the nut on top, and used a regular small screw driver to put the little screw on the back side)br>- They function flawlessly - Simply slip your string through the hole, tighten the locking wheel on the bottom side, and tune to pitch; the string cuts and pops off around the time you come into tune. So easy!
- They are less costly than their rivals.

Tuning is steady, but the cutting is a little janky
4/5

On the BC Rich Warbeast, it was fairly simple to install; the screw holes didn't line up, and you'll need to drill pilot holes, but nbd. The cutting feature is cool and all, but on high e, it didn't work as expected. The locking mechanism worked perfectly, and tuning everything was a breeze with these tuners. Because not all strings went through all tuners, I discovered they had to be matched to the string. Make the necessary adjustments to your setup.
