A full-size guitar is the only instrument that can be used with this preamp. Thank you, Musiclily
Both of them are level controls, such as a guitar amplifier. The straight device is the pickup under the saddle of the guitar, with a plug that goes into the amplifier, while the other is a battery box and output for the guitar.
An L-shaped component on the right is a piezo pick up that you install underneath As a matter of fact, there is no microphone. In daylight, the display can be viewed easily due to the standard LED (Light Emitting Diode).
The upper bout is gently curved to fit over the top of it. In order to accommodate slight differences in curves, a patch of rubber padding is added to the base.

My Dean "Gypsy" travel size electric/acoustic guitar had a EQ505 preamp and for some unknown reason it stopped working after several years. As a result of the low price, I decided to take a chance and ordered it on Amazon (much to my surprise). Immediately after the day it arrived, I installed it and it works just as well as new! Although it is still too soon to tell whether the new system will keep working, it appears to do so. There have been reviews which tell of a difficult time opening the battery compartment. The answer is yes. There is no way to open it to install or replace the battery, including with a screwdriver. I don't know what went wrong in the engineering or design department. It took me a while to screw the piece together with a screwdriver. As luck would have it, I only had my old preamp that I had just taken out, so I popped that battery holder into the new preamp and it fitted just fine. Hopefully, now it will open as easily as it should. As a result of the impossible, I'm taking one star off- There is an open battery compartment, but other than that, it works perfectly and is the same size as the older EQ 505. could not find this information on the Internet before purchasing, so I hope it helps someone who wants to replace an EQ 505 with a 1) I am happy with my purchase and recommended it to my.
The cigar box guitar is one of my favorite instruments, and I tend to play with different amplification gear on a regular basis. Designed for use in an acoustic instrument, this piezo rod pickup uses a piezoelectric element. Smaller control panels are ideal for thin boxes as they have a smaller footprint. Installing the control panel on a flat surface is very easy due to its flat design. The shape is similar to that of There are also styles that have a curved control panel designed to fit on curved surfaces, such as the upper bout of an uke or acoustic guitar. Batteries are NOT required for this device. Whenever you plug it in, it gets power from the input cable. There is a microphonic element to this piezo pickup. A coil of metal hears the resonating sound inside a metal instrument rather than a coil of air. The vibrations of the strings are picked up electronically by the wound pickup. As well as hearing thumps, taps, and other sounds transmitted through the box, it will also know when the player is on. If you can control the thumps and use them rhythmically, this can be a plus for some players. Some people find it annoying, as it creates extra noise. As a whole, it is a good, value-priced option A good pickup at a reasonable price, easy to install, no problems with the volume or tone. More of them will be used in the future.
As far as I know, it is not powered by electricity. Neither a battery compartment nor a power supply is included. The pickup works fine on the high strings of your guitar, but it fails to pickup the low E string sound. Since the Peizo pickup is quite thick, you will need to carefully route out the saddle slot so that it will accommodate the pickup and you can still fit We were not very happy with the sound as it has a difficult time picking up low strings. The guitar pickup is installed in my travel guitar and I now have a poor-sounding pickup. Once it has been installed, I can't take it back unless I find something else that will fit in the hole where the pickup is located. made the purchase after reading the reviews from others, and I found that the same exact reviews were posted by others regarding other pickups. I have learned from this experience that you cannot trust Amazon reviews.
As a replacement pickup / preamp for my Takamini, it works well for me. My guitar's top is a little bit too curved for it to work well, so I'll have to find a way to cover that. The price seems reasonable for what you get, but overall a good buy.
I was able to install it quickly and easily, and it worked well. It was necessary to review a video on youtube to see how the pickup was installed. This is the result of my lack of knowledge and a lack of Unless you use a screwdriver or another tool to pry off the battery door, it is nearly impossible to remove.
It's easy to install if you make sure you cut carefully. There is no problem reading the tuner, and it works well for alternative Despite the tone controls being adequate, they can be better.
I tried it for a day and it worked. As for the guitar, I put it down for a couple of days, then came back to it a couple of days later and it's still giving feedback. There was a problem with the microphone, I guess.
I really like it. This is a decent quality product. In order to compensate for the mic, I would recommend shaving the bridge. Since I didn't, the action is way too high now.
