Questions & Answers

What steps do you need to take to install it?

You attach the pick ups by applying superglue to them and then gluing them to the inside of the bridge plate. To make sure everything is aligned properly, it comes with a set up jig and some putty. A typical do-it-yourselfer would probably be able to do this project, which costs around $50 to do by a luthier. My custom 28 does sound great with them, by the way.

For a big guitar such as a Martin HD28V, would this be a good option? There is a possibility that it is intended ?

You can use it with your HD28V without any problems One of them was in my HD28 and it sounded excellent. All the mini's (mostly in my own guitars) that I've fitted have sounded full and balanced from the start.

One of the super glued heads of a k&k was ruined when I removed it. What are the chances of getting a good response with only two heads? Maybe you can play the guitar or the uke on a small instrument?

As long as you get sound, everything should be fine. The quality may not be as good as I thought it would Having not dealt with this before, I cannot comment on it.

This should be able to be played on a three string mountain dulcimer, right?

The installation should be possible if you are building a fulcimer, otherwise, I have no idea how you would go about doing Glued under the bridge plate, they are mounted under the plate. You may be able to install it if you are building the instrument, but I have no idea how to do that. Additionally, you need to drill a hole at the end of the dulcimer to mount the jack. In my case, I have a 4 string dulcimer which does not have a

This is the most genuine tone I've ever heard
5/5

The pickups are amazing. I'm totally happy with them. As a result of reading all of the rave reviews I ordered the Pure Minis and I am absolutely amazed by the excellent sound and, in fact, it is as close to the natural sound of my Dreadnought as possible. In 1974 I bought a boutique Acoustic call a Loprinsi that had a wonderful sound with distinct highs, mids, and lows and years ago I tried various other pickups that did not compare to the brilliance and warmth these K&L pickups have. You can choose from a variety of K Pure Minis. My understanding of the installation book is very good because I have read it several times. After watching these videos on YouTube, I thought those K&K cereal ads had been a mistake Installation of Ks was carried out. Yet I caught hold of one video that made so much sense and seemed so much easier to use than the K&W method I did not use the K method at all, but I did find this to be an easier and more efficient method. To see the method I used, here is the link. I used this cardboard bridge template method per the video. In order to do this, I cut out two holes in the cardboard, one for the high E string and one for the low E string. On top of my bridge, the two provided wood pegs kept the cardboard in place. In the same way, I sketched on the cardboard an exact line showing where the saddle sits on the bridge, then I marked exactly where the cables connect to the saddle. The pickup sensors should be placed all three at the same time. When installed, the three sensors would be glued directly below the bridge at the center of where the high E string sits, and then the other two sensors would also be marked for their recommended K&L values. The position K between the low E and the high E is The string A is between the strings D & A string of G. The pencil marks perpendicular to the bone bridge lay just where the saddle and bone bridge meet. My next step was to stick the supplied puddy to the pencil marks in the center where the sensors would be mounted. Once I had added the sensors to the puddy and made sure that they were securely installed, I removed the pins from the parts that screw into the high and low E strings, slid the pickup assembly into the sound hole, and performed a dry fitting The pegs were then reinserted into the high and low E string peg holes of the guitar, so they were now able to stick out from the inside of the instrument. I then slid the cardboard template from within the guitar while holding the puddy, which had the sensors attached to it, back onto the high and low E string pegs, sliding the cardboard up to where the 3 sensors would be mounted, and this worked perfectly. All of the pieces are permanently affixed to each other. I think it took maybe 10 minutes over the course of this whole process to cut out the sensors, arrange them on your cardboard and dry fit them inside the guitar. As an optional step, I then applied the Locktite Super glue Gel to the gold surface of each sensor that was still attached to the cardboard template with its puddy attached and carefully put the template inside As I held the cardboard template, I slid it up the holes of two pegs that jutted out of the high and low E strings on the guitar. Using the cardboard and a ruler, I pushed it up to the bottom of the bridge, so that the 3 sensors faced the bottom of the saddle, and again, the saddle is directly below the cardboard. Holding the cardboard in place, I was able to slide 3 fingers to the exact locations where I knew the sensors were, then applied a little pressure to let the super glue In spite of the gel's claim that it would secure in 30 seconds, I held it firmly in place for 2 minutes then let go and set a timer for 30 minutes and left it After 30 minutes, I simply slid off the cardboard jig and then removed the pegs from the top of the guitar over the high and low E string peg holes, followed by the high and low E string pegs. After cleaning off the excess puddy from the 3 sensors, I glued the bridge to the body and strung the guitar again. As soon as I had the guitar connected to my Makie 402VLZ4 mixer, I was thrilled and overjoyed. The system is excellent for the price and built very well. I have done preamps and active battery pickups but these K&N have been a challenge I've never owned a pickup that has offered me a more true representation of sound than K Pure Minis do. It takes about 45 minutes from when the installation begins to when the game is actually played. This is simply an awesome product.

Using anything else would be a mistake

Although you can spend significantly more on another type, I wouldn't bother with it. When played through an amplifier, this gives an amazing clarity. However, if there is a downside, it may be that it does not have a volume control (and they do have one with that feature) and that it does not have You can still buy their old stuff The problem is solved by adding an amp. My own installation was successful, and here is what I would suggest going forward. A Martin HD-26 has been used for this The voice test score is 28. First of all. . Do not rush! Take your time! As much as I wanted to drill out the hole for the strap lug, I was a bit nervous. Considering drilling a hole on a $3500 guitar was a bit daunting. According to my research, the way to go is to use a graduated bit. Those who said so were correct. For around 20 dollars, I bought a Milwaukee bit at Home Depot. If I were to use regular bits, I couldn't imagine making the hole bigger and bigger in stages. Having put the blue tape around the finish, it worked flawlessly to protect it. When you're ready to start gluing, make sure you run a trial run first! By practicing on it first and getting used to it, you will find it easier when you actually have to glue the transducers to the board. A Gorilla superglue gel worked best for me. Gel is better than runny liquid, so make sure to use that. Don a pair of gloves made from nitrile. As a result, your fingertips are probably going to be covered in superglue. It is easy to follow the instructions. It is important that you On the first installation, you can get this done in about an hour if you take your time.

Why this is so popular is clear to me

It does not require batteries or pre-charge The amplified version. Even though I did not tell my musician friends about the pickup, they all commented on how good the guitar sounded the first time I plugged it in - I'm not in. Others even assumed I had driven the pickup, but they had to ask me. As a result. It must sound very natural to you. The installation was done by me since I do my own maintenance. It is important to read the directions carefully and keep in mind that regardless of the form of the bridge or pins, pickups should be located under the saddle area (as shown in the picture in the directions). Take a moment to reflect. Here are some tips for carpenters It will be easier to remove the pickup if you glue a piece of paper to it before gluing it in the guitar if you decide to remove it later. During the photo shoot, I used a sheet of photographic paper. A thickness of 006 is recommended. Despite all that, compliments continued to come in.

Tone shaping is definitely needed to bring out the best in this pickup! In the wake of doing a thorough search on acoustic guitar pickups, along with reading many positive reviews, I decided to purchase the K&ampM Pickup system for the K Pure Mini
4/5

My disappointment was acutely felt as soon as it was plugged directly into a sound system due to its unnatural tone. There was no similarity between it and the natural sound of my acoustic guitar. Having very picky ears, I found the tone to be very mid-pitch He has a honky sound to him. My experience is that I have heard this sound in many other acoustic guitars throughout the years. This is true even for the ones that come In contrast, after adding a Fishman Presys onboard preamp to the system, the sound was transformed. There's a lot of power in this preamp and it is capable of shaping the tone really well. LR Baggs Para DI, however, was the final element that made my acoustic guitar sound so natural but amplified. There is magic in this little box. With its powerful tone shaping abilities in a small format, I think this is the most powerful tool I've found so far. There is also the parametric EQ from Empress Audio to consider. Here is another pedal that I own that I find awesome. This pickup is one of my favorites because it responds naturally to the way you pick and strum. Unlike many piezo style systems out there, this system sounds and feels more natural even if it doesn't sound like it. I am glad to report that this problem has been solved and that the eq treatment gives my guitar a spectacular sound. If you don't have it, it won't sound very good.
