There is no such thing as a free lunch Acoustic pickups are made of wood or metal. There are some significant differences between the two. The tonality of this piece is entirely different. As it responds like an acoustic pickup, it'll make a lot of noise. An acoustic guitar is picked up using this pickup, just like an electric pickup would. A control system is not available for it.
Using my Yamaha FG335 with a 4" diameter sound hole, I can confirm that it will fit. Make sure you find out how wide the big baby Taylor's sound hole is. Once you've drawn your conclusions, you can make an informed decision.

Baggs does not appear to offer this M1 passive anymore. Their website doesn't mention it. I was running it through their pre-production tool. I plugged into my Roland AC60 through an amp. There was an issue with the high E string sounding very thin, and the only solution was to dial it back Though I thought maybe I was getting some fret buzz, my frets were great and the relief was set correctly. I emailed the manufacturer. It was easy to solve the problem when I used a shorter cable to diconnect.
Due to its simplicity, the passive M1 was the best choice. I played the pickup into a small amplifier that handled all of the volume controls and tone controls since that is not included with the pickup. I then installed it in the sound hole with the wire exposed. A pickup I bought from eBay was installed on an old epiphone acoustic guitar I There is a very nice balance in the sound this pickup produces. When I practice at home, even just to have a guitar to play, I now plug it in! The tone is great when I run it through a Fender acoustic amp. As well as using a DI box to run it through the PA system, I use a PXC EQ box to round out the sound. My pickup is awesome! I am so pleased with it.
An awesome pickup like this is hard to come by. The passive nature of the pickups (so you need a little more volume on your amp) is nice, but I prefer the more natural sound over the pickups built into my guitar. It does an excellent job of reproducing the sound of my instrument. However, you might also want to add a little cork around the edges of your guitar top where the plastic meets the It's important not to over tighten the pickup or you might end up with dents in the wood. As a result, vibrations may impact the reverb from the pickup back to the amplifier. I guess that's fine.
There was a lot of confusion during the installation. It was easy for me to complete the installation because I have a well-equipped work shop. The volume control in the mixer or amp is all that I can control since I bought the passive pickup. I think it is a hundred times better than the piezo pickup on.
