My observation is that I haven't observed anything. This model and its predecessors have been around since 1998, and the only problem I can think of is when playing really soft, I sometimes hear a tiny transient from the pick touching the strings. There are three acoustic preamps included with this item I really like the sound of this amp/pickup! As you can see, I'm quite happy with the result. The Fishman product is recommended to be installed by a professional guitar technician, but it is fairly easy to install if you are reasonably handy and have the needed tools, including a drill.
