Questions & Answers

Are there any problems with this model compared to a traditional under-deck construction project What happens when you strumming on the saddle and the pickup quacks?

My observation is that I haven't observed anything. This model and its predecessors have been around since 1998, and the only problem I can think of is when playing really soft, I sometimes hear a tiny transient from the pick touching the strings. Although I'm not sure what you mean by quacking, I can't recall anything that I would refer to as being This pickup is outstanding in every detail, just hook it up to a really good PA and everyone goes nuts. The following is a quote from a friend of mine, Leonard

Can you please tell me the difference between this model and the Fishman Sonitone? I was wondering what size and sound is most natural for an acoustic guitar orchestra?

I don't know if the sonitone works, but if you plug an internal microphone into the infinity it will be a natural preamp for acoustic guitar.

If I need the wide or narrow version of the pickup, how do I know which to get?

Whether your bridge is slotted for a wide saddle or a narrow saddle will depend on the groove in the bridge. Many of them are quite narrow, in my opinion. With the narrow one that I got, I put on my Blueridge guitar & I liked how it fit. On my Martin D-90 I know that the grooves are measured by a square inch, but I'm not sure of what the measurements are for each A narrow groove adorned the surface of the disc. One of the grooves on the Epiphone I own is narrow. You should still be able to compare it to another guitar even if the grooves have been widened for a saddle compensated. Thank you. I hope this was helpful. A bluebird's feather

The following tips will help you with your installation Don't Make Yourself Angry and Waste Your Time
5/5

There are three acoustic preamps included with this item I really like the sound of this amp/pickup! As you can see, I'm quite happy with the result. The Fishman product is recommended to be installed by a professional guitar technician, but it is fairly easy to install if you are reasonably handy and have the needed tools, including a drill. According to my recent experience, the installation instructions on the Fishman website are well written and thorough, but I would suggest the following changes 1 .
If you want to trim the bottom of your bridge saddle, use fine sandpaper (Grade 60 worked 2
There are two silver-plated copper wires inside the black insulated pickup wire Connect the preamp circuit board with colored wire ends. The signal wire is connected to the "IN" terminal of the preamp circuit board, located at the smallest diameter. It is connected to the "GND" terminal by a wire with a slightly larger diameter located between the signal wire and the black insulation. Initially, I connected the wires incorrectly and the preamp did not work (since I made a few mistakes). The only thing you will hear is a lot of humming noise. In order to test the system before installing the preamp/jack, the volume/tone control module, and the battery case in the guitar body, I recommend installing just one guitar string and connecting it to your amplifier or power supply first. It's easy to find all the pieces since they're on the outside of the guitar. By doing so, if anything needs to be corrected, like the wires mentioned earlier, you don't have to take off all your strings or remove all the guitar components to make the corrections. The fourth point. It is much more important to attach the canvas battery bag to the inside of the guitar body with something stronger than the self-adhesive strap The pad is adhered to the lid using Velcro. After adhering the Velcro pad to the guitar body using epoxy glue, it is now securely attached to the guitar. I wish you luck with your recording, and thank you for your support!.

The product is excellent
5/5

It is of high quality. The product is excellent. It is of high quality. Among Fishman's best qualities is the quality of customer service. I contacted Fishman Customer Service before I purchased the item to inquire whether the narrow or regular size pickup would be more appropriate for me. Response times were quick and they were very To make sure I would be able to run this myself, I asked a number of questions online on Amazon, and I was blown away by how many responses I had that were actually helpful from Music Store Owners and professional technicians alike who were willing to help and encourage me to run There is nothing that compares to the quality and the packaging of this product. It would be almost as neat as a package for an iPhone. All that is missing in the package are detailed instructions, which can be downloaded on the Fishman website. Even those, however, assume that you are a "handy"person who is familiar with tools, precision, and how to use them. I love how clear the sound is.

The pickup was excellent
5/5

A Martin guitar fan was given to me as a gift. I found installation to be very straightforward (if you are During my 20 minutes of installation, I had it ready. I did not shave anything off my bridge because my action was already a little too low to begin with. I was able to complete my action without hesitation (perhaps it will be the case for everyone now as well). As far as I am concerned, this pickup has met my expectations. The Seymour Duncan Woody was the one I was using prior to installing this. A mistake of this sort cannot be recovered from). There is a powerful tone to the Infinity Matrix, it picks up finger tapping, slide work, and palm slaps (something the Woody did not handle). I can't describe how the Infinity Matrix has made my Martin sound like a whole new one. My thanks go to the giver of this thoughtful As well as plugged into the PA, I have also used it with a separate amplifier. Both options sound terrific. There is no feedback for this product, and there is no need for sound hole covers due to the onboard adjustments. The following tips can be helpful when setting up your system Make sure you wipe the spot where you plan to place the adhesive clips with alcohol, and allow it to dry for a few minutes. It is important not to pull on the pickup wire too tightly when installing the wire, as this will make it less responsive. Just a small amount of lock tight on the strap button will keep it from coming loose (notice I said just a small amount. You will never be able to lose it again if you put it on too much. It is important to only tighten the screw just enough to keep it in place you don't want to overtighten it or the wood could be crushed. My overall experience with it has been fantastic and I enjoy using it a lot. In addition, I use a cable with the end of the cable made of an "L" shape. You can use the guitar strap to guide the plug through your guitar, so less plug sticks out of the guitar (this is just a preference).

This system is solid, with an excellent tone circuit and preamplifier
4/5

It's great to be able to adjust the tone and EQ. I also like how easy it is to install. It can be tricky to maintain string balance. The sound is typical piezo but also has a full, warm, balanced quality with the ability to cut through a band. It has a high degree of resistance to feedback. To replace the Anthem SL which sounded thin and had an irritating emphasis in the 1Ks, I used this The upper midrange ranges from 2k to 3. I like how the battery lasts for a long time. It's light as well. For sidemen who like to play in various bands and genres, this pickup is a great option because it WORKS and sounds great. It's not good for bluegrass. Use a microphone instead, as it should be for real.
