Questions & Answers

It can be bought here, right?

Thank you for your question, but I am not certain I understand it. There is an actual listing for this fretwire for sale.

Those dimensions are true for my 1970 Martin D28 which has a 16" radius and a slot width of 36". Can I use this fretwire on my guitar if it is model number 020?

In short, yes. If you fit it to your radius with a press, it should work fine. It's soft enough metal to conform to its shape. The disadvantage is that softer metals tend to wear faster than more durable metals

I guess that worked, so it must be OK
4/5

In terms of judging fretwire, I really don't know what to do, other than to see if it works and if the guitar actually plays. A thin blade and a cut of about one sixteenth of an inch into the fretboard are required for this type of work
I didn't have a fret saw, so I bought a coping saw at Lowe's with I tried that, and it
No need to be timid about moving the blade straight or else you may end up cutting too wide.

It all worked out in the end. The fret wire here seems of high quality, I guess.

Excellent product
4/5

Make sure all details are correct before ordering. A great product, with a shiney silver finish. I accidentally ordered these instead of the straight lengths, ill say the 10 inch radius is a little tight, but it can be straightened or curved a bit with a square/ruler with a notch in the middle pretty easily.

There are too few barbs on my tang
4/5

I decided to buy a fingerboard with pre-installed barbed loops. To cut frets slots, use a slot cutter. A glue had to be put on the frets because I felt fret vibrations when I was filing ends. This is better for slots that are narrower.

The Fret Wire and Radiused are the same
5/5

I used it on a custom Les Paul build with a 12" radius fretboard, and it worked out well. It is capable of taking a crown and polishing it.

Added $240 to your savings! The fret wire was a bit smaller than I expected but it seems to work, and I installed it myself with a steel hammer with a leather square glued to it (so as not to nick the frets) and a steel flow to level it out
4/5

When cutting disks are necessary for your dremel tool, it can be very useful. I went to Guitar Center and they wanted $250 for a full refret, so I chose to do it myself and save $240.

I am very satisfied with the way the wire is held in slots by the tang
4/5

The Yamaha acoustic guitar, which is 37 years old, has been refretted. Their seating was excellent, and they didn't need leveling at all to finish the.
