Hello, the Gibraltar 6608 seat is approximately 3 1/2" thick. If you have any additional questions, please let me know and I will be happy to assist you! br>Thank you,br>-
It swivels to the left and right. You can tighten the wing screw to lock it in place or loosen it to make it swivel.
I'm 175 pounds, and I've found the seat to be very comfortable over a long period of time.

I knew the height adjustment wouldn't hold up to my 220lb weight from the moment I got it, so I just accepted that I'd have to keep it at the lowest setting. br>br>After a few months of sporadic use (maybe once a week, probably less), the seat finally gave way under my 220lb weight as I leaned to the left. br>br>I would not recommend this to any grown adult male weighing more than 200 pounds.
My husband, who weighs 236 pounds, was the recipient of this gift. It will be durable, according to all of the reviews. Last night, the seat was ripped in half. I'm not sure how to contact the company to inquire about replacing the throne part. I'm pretty sure it said 300 pounds. He said it was so comfortable up until it broke. I'm hoping for a replacement from KMC Music.
For all but the longest practice/playing sessions, the padding is nice and comfortable, and the quality of manufacture is acceptable for the price. (Honestly, why should anyone have to spend $200 to get long-lasting padding?) term cushioning for comfort and good ergonomics? Maybe it's because the furniture industry has long been dominated by a cabal of design snobs and high-end buyers. Retailers who are reasonably priced? Laughable) Suggestions for Improvements: ) Improved height adjustment design and hardware, which is a little flimsy and more difficult to adjust than required, and 2. ) Given the lack of a standard easy-to-grip metal knob that can be turned by hand, a "drum key" should have been included with the purchase for assembly and height adjustment. After all, some customers might have bought this item to play keyboards and don't have a drum key on hand.
=P. The seat is quite comfortable, and the price is fair. Increase the price by $1 and include a drum key for those of us who aren't familiar with drums. Drummers don't have to return to the store to make adjustments! br>br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. I've used this a few times now and wish it was more reliable. I'm a guitarist who uses bass pedals, and the throne is simply too wobbly for me. My main throne is much more comfortable for me. (DW) I believe the additional $40 is well worth it. 50 for a more stable option.
For the past ten years, I've been using a Sunlite drum throne that I bought in the 1980s to play acoustic guitar gigs, and it's finally time to retire it because the hardware is beginning to come loose, though it will still hold me. I recently purchased a Stage Rocker throne, which worked fine for a couple of gigs but became uncomfortable after an hour of sitting on it due to its low price. I'm not sure if it's because of the padding, but I felt like I needed something else. During a break, I searched Amazon for drum thrones and came across the Gibraltar 6608. Well, I'm here to tell you that this throne is very comfortable, and despite the fact that this is the first "bike seat" style I've ever used, I really like it! The tripod is rock solid and stable, raises to a comfortable height for me (maximum of 24"), and the bike seat is a significant improvement in terms of comfort over similar thrones made by higher-end manufacturers. end manufacturers can cost up to six times as much as I paid for this seat, and I couldn't justify the cost-to-value ratio. quality reasoning based on the quality and price of this throne, I am now one of the happiest - seated - camper!.
Because this is the first drum throne I've ever purchased, I have mixed feelings. The biggest flaw in this chair is that it can swivel from left to right when the height is set. It's comfortable, and I can play for a couple hours without it hurting my ass (remember that chairs like these are far more comfortable when worn with Jeans rather than sweats or mesh shorts). It's a good chair in my opinion if you're tall and know you won't be raising it. However, if height variation is important to you, I recommend investing a little more money in a chair that is both comfortable and swivel-able.
If you were playing nightly gigs for several hours, I think you'd be crazy not to invest in a roc soc or a high-end Gibraltar (which this isn't). For the time being, this will suffice for our band's needs. Every day for two hours. At that price, this is a significant improvement over the other junk or really low-end stuff. Last but not least, If you're 180 pounds (rough estimate), You should invest in a more expensive throne. Because of its design, I believe it will gradually deteriorate. I'd go with a better Gibraltar or a Roc Soc once more.
The fact that it is manufactured in China is the first thing I dislike about it. The second thing that bothers me is that it appears that adjusting the collar that comes with the riser stem requires a key. There was no key in my box. The tripod has a plastic collar or bushing that floats in the top, which is the third thing I don't like about it. The stem has a collar (that requires a key to adjust) that sits on the plastic bushing in the tripod's top. All of your weight will be transferred to the metal collar (that requires a key) and the plastic bushing. If the metal collar does not slip on the riser stem when you put your weight on it, that is. The fourth thing I don't like about Gibraltar Hardware is that their parent company, Drum Works, does not have a phone number listed on their website. I'm sure I could look up a phone number, but that shouldn't be necessary. I usually avoid doing business with companies that refuse to communicate with their clients. I immediately emailed GH, and unless I receive a key and/or other parts today, the "stool" (as it is aptly named) will be returned. If you're looking for a drum seat, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
