Questions & Answers
This would be ideal for use as a keyboard stool. It has enough up-and-down range to fit nearly any keyboard height.
The height limits appear to be measured from the floor to the top of the seat (sitting surface) when compressed by sitting on it (a gas shock absorber compresses a little when you sit on it). When I measure the seat height without sitting on it, it is closer to 19", but when I sit on it, it is slightly lower at around 18". To the top of the seat, the maximum height is approximately 24".
Is it possible for this nitro throne to fold (collapse) and fit into my hardware case?
I did buy one on Amazon.

For years, I sat on a shoddy stool. It feels like you're sitting on a cloud when you're sitting on this. There's no reason to sit anywhere else but here. The pneumatic lift is fantastic, but that's beside the point. It's in cool colors, but that's not a problem. It's simple to assemble, but that's beside the point. br>br>Buy it because you'll never have to worry about back pain (which I do), butt pain (which I also have), or being uncomfortable again. You literally sink into it, start playing, and then when you stand up hours later, you'll wish you were sitting again and marvel at how comfortable anything could be. br>br>Don't be concerned about the cost; simply do yourself a favor and you'll have a heaven-sent experience. For the next dozen years, I'll be sitting in a chair that looks like this.
Before I bought this roc n soc drum throne, I did a lot of research. I looked at price, comfort, swivel, and shelf life, and Roc n Soc consistently came up as the best drum thrones that met all of the criteria. I bought a different brand of throne that was $30 less expensive and appeared to be just as good before purchasing this one. A huge blunder. I kept the drum throne for two days before returning it to the owner. The roc n soc throne was my next purchase, and I couldn't be happier with it. Big, comfortable seat that easily swivels from left to right, allowing you to play your kit from any angle. If you're on the fence about purchasing this throne, don't be. It's pricey, but it's well worth it, as it will last for years.
I was primarily looking for convenience, and this one outperforms the others I've tried. In a throne, I'm not sure if there's such a thing as a REALLY soft cushion. I took up drumming as a challenge a few months ago. I'm in my 60s, so I'm sure it has something to do with my age. When you're young, you can sit on a cement bench for hours, but after about an hour on this throne, I have to take a break. A tractor seat, in my opinion, is extremely beneficial. It's convenient to adjust the height, and it's well-made.
To begin with, I'm 67 years old and have recently undergone back surgery. In general, this is a high-quality, well-made product. The following are the areas where I believe it falls short for me. could make room for 1- A 2 inch increase in sitting height is available. I think an inch of padding would be sufficient. These saddle-style seats, in my experience, cut into the backs of your legs, causing sciatica. If you don't sit back on the stool, the back of your leg will be cut even more deeply. I was going to return it, but I decided to keep it and see if I can find a good deal on a seat back to see if it improves overall comfort.
I play extremely fast and hard, breaking pedals in the process. Everyone warned me against squandering my money on a second-rate throne, and they were correct. I don't get biker butt after practice anymore because my feet are no longer fatigued. They're owned by a few touring pros, and while the hydraulic seat takes some getting used to, it's by far the best throne I've ever sat in.
The rim at the back of the seat was supposed to assist with back support. My back, however, begins to hurt after about 45 minutes of sitting. The reason for this, I believe, is that the back rim is made of softer foam than I anticipated. As a result, the rim serves no purpose as a support and may as well be absent from the seat altogether. I returned to my old Gibraltar seat because it allows me to sit for longer periods of time without discomfort. The Soc throne is attractive, comfortable, and has excellent seat height adjustment, but I am unable to use it for more than 45 minutes.
My Roc arrived in the mail - N - I received my Soc throne today, and the first thing I noticed when I opened it was that the color of the seat was not what I had anticipated. The blue throne appears to be a dark blue green with a hint of teal in the photographs. The top I got was a darker blue, and instead of looking plush, it resembled fluffy carpet. I still like the throne because it works as it should and it is comfortable, but not 100% as pictured.
It's well-made and has a lot of weight to it. I have it with the optional back rest and find it to be quite comfortable. I'm short and fat, with a bad back, so finding something that's both stable and adjustable is crucial, and this is it. br>br>I prefer the backrest, but your results may vary. I sometimes have to lean into it if I'm doing something that requires both feet (I'm weak in my core due to an injury), and the rest is extremely beneficial. The seat cushion, on the other hand, is well-shaped and should be adequate for most people.
