Well, I'm 210 pounds and it works fine for me. I'm guessing the screw-in mechanism is to blame. In comparison to models with holes in the post, which can bend and warp over time, type post makes it to it could probably hold just about anyone.
Everything should work out.
About 20"
The 5100 has a Swivel Height Adjustment with an Oversize Locking Nut, which is the most significant difference. The Vise style of the 3100 comes with Memory Lock.

Oh, what a lovely throne you have there! Most other drum thrones I've used don't adjust to as high of a height as this one does. This eliminates the strain on the hip muscles that comes with pedaling from a low throne. br>Excellent buttocks cushioning. br>It would have been perfect if it had had a back support. br>The throne spins with you as you pivot your core during a roll, thanks to the threaded height adjuster.
Due to an injury, I am a keyboardist who must sit and play. The throne is well-made and sturdy. The only minor drawback is its weight when compared to the DW model directly below it. In any case, I'm very pleased with the throne.
I have the DW9000 base pedal, hi hat stand, and snare stand; the quality is excellent and far exceeds my expectations. "It's just a place for my ass," I reasoned as I considered spending the extra $100 on the 9000 throne. I made the right decision and am very happy with my decision. The weight is incredible, the adjustments are small, and the feel and fit are excellent. It's possible that my next purchase will be a DW collector series kit!.
I've had this throne for 8 weeks and I'm very happy with it. It is well-made, durable in use, simple to adjust, infinitely adjustable, comfortable, and attractive. br>br>I haven't had the opportunity to abuse it with a lot of moving/gigging, but I believe the well-built construction will last. br>br>It appears to be a good buy for around $100. I couldn't find any less expensive thrones that didn't skimp on quality, and I couldn't find any more expensive thrones with features that seemed to matter to me. br>br>I purchased my unit directly from Amazon without first trying one out, and I've been completely satisfied with it since the day it arrived. br>br>If you're looking for a sturdy, comfortable throne, and $100 is within your budget, I don't think you can go wrong with this one. (However, keep in mind that this and other thrones have minimum height requirements;) If you're under 5'6" or prefer something more modest, this one might be too high for you.
For an hour at a time, it was not uncomfortable, and it was nice and stable.
Nice.
It's a bit pricey, but it's good.
