Although this is not their primary goal, I believe you will notice a difference. Little Booty Shakers will isolate the snare, but if your tom has a high enough SPL (sound pressure level), it will vibrate your snare regardless of the mount's isolation. If you decide to give it a shot, I'd love to hear what you think. Thank you for your inquiry, and please keep me updated. Rich - Products made by TnR
They're made of closed cell polyethylene foam, as you've asked. TnR

My only issue is when I use them on the main snare of my kit; they work perfectly and are certainly effective. I have a 14" snare, but with the Booty Shakers attached, it feels like I'm sitting on a 16" drum between my legs. It opens up the snare stand too much and rubs against my legs while I'm playing. br>br>Now that I've cut the Booty Shakers in half, I'm only using the bottom half. It appears to function properly, but it is unattractive and wasteful of resources. This should not be an issue if you have a wide stance and don't double pedal. However, if you're like me and prefer everything to be tight, this could be an issue.
These were purchased specifically for my Slingerland metal snare drum, which is 14 inches in diameter and was manufactured in 1968. br>I was looking for a way to create a sense of isolation, and this worked perfectly. It isolates vibration from the drum stand to the drum. br>br>It isolates vibration from the drum stand to the drum. br>br>It isolates vibration from the drum stand to the drum. br>It will not be the only way to get rid of ring. It won't necessarily get rid of harmonic overtones. br>It won't change the dampening effect, but it can be changed if you adjust it. br>br>There are some additional advantages to using these Velcro-attached cushions. It adds extra protection against the hoop deforming. br> It holds the hoop in place better than the clamp's rubber edges. br> When tightening your snare hoop clamp, I discovered that there's a sweet spot. br>I'm referring to the turnbuckle that secures the snare drum stand to the snare drum's bottom. While tightening the turnbuckle, tap the drum with your drum stick. When you reach the sweet spot of just the right tension, you'll notice a tonal harmonic hum that will fade away. Come to a complete stop right there. br>br>Also, returning to the "ring" topic, these can help reduce ring, but you'll have to find the sweet spot as described above. Consider using painters masking tape on the bottom head near or over the snare itself if you're looking for a compromise.
I was almost enraged by how effective this product is! My 12" tom began singing beautifully as soon as I placed them on the snare basket! I recently began using a snare stand for my tom and was dissatisfied with how choked it was. Until this $16 fix comes along, that is. I'm not sure why I didn't think of this first, but it's a great idea. I haven't tried it on the snare drum yet, but I may do so soon. It's difficult to see the product in photos, which is a good thing!.
I recently purchased a wooden-hooped mounted tom. I was given a gibraltar iso mount, which kept choking the drum. I tried putting it on a snare stand and got the same result, so I bought these out of desperation and now have a nice long tone! br>br>Hopefully they hold up during gigs, and they do force you to open the stand jaws wider than before, which could affect positioning.
If you pick up the drum with the intention of moving the entire stand, it will pop out unless you go super tight, which defeats the purpose. They do what they're supposed to do, but I don't notice much of a difference when I'm listening to them live, though I'm sure recording would sound better.
Great product; I was skeptical at first, but it worked great for my tom on a snare stand, adding a lot of sustain and improving the sound. Excellent product.
These snare cushions are fantastic. They give my drum a slight lift and a soft seat, which I like.
The foam appears to be sturdy, the velcro strips do not appear to be prone to coming undone, and the tom resonance is unaffected even when the drum is tightened enough to keep it stable in the basket. 10/10 for doing exactly what it says on the tin.
