I like the idea, but there are several serious engineering flaws in this product. br>br>The knurled post that's supposed to keep your various components in place isn't holding them steady. You know what I'm talking about if you've ever used any of your standard attachments (the ones with the eye bolt sandwiched between the clevis). Well. Rotational swiveling is extremely unlikely because your components are usually mounted flat. The knurled post that holds your cowbell, tamborine, or other instrument passes vertically through the clevis. steady. The knurled bar must pass horizontally through the clevis to hold your component upright for beater striking when using the LP388N on a drum pedal (which is what it's supposed to be designed for). The center of mass is held high above a rotation point (the knurled bar) when you do this, causing your attached components to rotate sideways all of the time; the knurling helps, but it's not enough. There are far better ways to handle this, and LP should have spent more time engineering this before releasing it to the general public. Especially when you consider the MSRP of $78. Oh, and there's one more thing. The solid back bars (which allow you to rotate for hard surface or carpet placement) are extremely dangerous. The sharp carpet prongs stick out the back quite far if it's set up for use on a hard surface (see image). Someone who comes too close will be surprised and possibly taken to the hospital.
Gift that was asked for.
made, and the ideal percussive accompaniment to any acoustic music performance. It's what I use for my tambourine, and it's fantastic!.
Sensible and comfortable utility.
I've had at least one of these since they first came out, and it's one of the best percussion inventions ever.
It goes to a lot of different places.
incredibly beneficial There are a lot of mounting options and positions to choose from.
It isn't very solid. I own it and have used it. br>br>It isn't very solid. When you play it, it wobbles a little. br>br>I have an LP jam block (the red one) mounted to my Rhythm Traveler set, as well as a pearl bass drum pedal. br>br>Because it wobbles, I found it challenging to play and use. br>br>What's going on is that the black portion that extends upward vertically and holds the chrome arm, THAT PORTION (that attaches to the flat floor part with the spikes and mount for your bass drum pedal), THAT PORTION screws onto the floor board portion and it wobbles, then add to that the chrome arm that your cowbell or jam block mounts to and it wobbles - AND THE COMBINATION OF THE TWO WOBBLES NOTICEABLY, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO PLAY. br>br>When I use it, I "deal with it.
