I believe they are long-lasting. Plastic is used for the bottoms. Simply remove them after each performance and store them in a gig bag or a drum bag with enough space. If you keep them on the drum during transport, they can easily get lost.

IF YOU'RE RECORDING OR PLAYING LIGHT GIGS, THIS IS MOST LIKELY A BETTER ITEM TO ADD. BUT IT'S HARD TO TELL A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE WHEN THE DRUMS ARE MIC'D AND LIVE.
Is it possible for a FT to ring too many times? With these boogers, you'll soon find out. It can hold a note for a week or two if properly tuned.
These do what they claim, but you won't notice a difference if you do a lot of gigs. These make a huge difference in the studio.

This was purchased to help a 14 x 14 floor tom sustain better. It didn't make any difference in terms of sound.
