You've done a great job. I was covered by a guard both on my F attachment horn and on the exposed part. In my B flat tenor trombone, only about a third of the brass is covered by the guard In order to meet my needs, I need to find a longer neckguard, if they are made. For those wishing to protect the finish on the bell tubing, I would recommend purchasing one or more of these.

I found that the F attachment tubing and supports were too large for the guard to fit my son's tenor trombone (Holton TR158), so I had to do some major trimming to make it fit. After it is installed, it looks great, and my son likes it. However, that means you may have to trim it if you have a bass trombone or one with a F attachment. If I were to buy it again, I would.
