This would probably fit into your cornet, as my first thought was. There is substantial weight to the mutes' corks. Prior to fitting my trumpet bell, they had to be sanded quite a bit.
There is no practice mute in this mute, it is a regular
That's very kind of you to ask. do not have an answer to your question other than to let you know what is It is the only straight mute I have ever used as far as tone is concerned. Joe Alessi, the co-founder of the trumpet company, sold me my trumpet A mute was invented by him. The tone it creates is beautiful, and it is so light that I don't feel any weight at the end of my trumpet. Please accept my apologies for not being able to provide you with a more accurate response.
I didn't even have to sand down the cork around the snare to fit it in my Bb trumpet.

Anyone who plays the trumpet will find this mute to be quite useful. When played in the middle and high registers of the trumpet, the mute creates a muted, metallic tone. As you would expect from a trumpet muted instrument, this one does fall short in the low register, as players muted rarely utilize the low register. As with all metal mutes, this one is easy to dent and scratch, so consider purchasing a mute case if you want your mutes to last longer. The cork is attached really well and, after six months of normal use, hasn't fallen off. My experience was that the Vacchiano stone lined mutes blew away the Humes and Berg out of the water, and competed very well with the Tom Crown (I prefer Tom Crown plated copper metal, but the copper metal Tom Crown would be fine as well).
An "old school" straight mute sound with a bright, projecting, nasal quality. Although I probably wouldn't use it for solo work, in a big band, can't please band, or orchestra, it would be an excellent choice. It would be most suitable for outdoor venues when paired with a Humes & Sons electric amplifier. (ol' red and white Berg, Stonelined Cup Mute).
My teacher Joe Alessi was one of my favorites. I consider this to be the finest straight mute we have ever made. A mute like this is impossible to miss!.
It is of good quality for the price. Suitable for players of intermediate skill levels.
The scratch is easy to do, but overall it's good.
In some ways, this straight mute is considered to be the standard against which all others are measured. Some trumpet players may be fine with others such as Tom Crown or Denis Wick in specific situations, but everyone who takes trumpet seriously needs at least.
It was recommended that my daughter use this mute by her trumpet instructor. Despite its quality, we are satisfied with it.
Thanks a lot!.
