For students of french horn, this is the perfect starter kit. There are plenty of things included in the package to care for their french horn. Despite its early arrival, the kit was packaged well and arrived on time. There is only one CAUTION I can give for parents & children Please make sure your kids remember that the plastic or vinyl pouch that comes with the kit is the bag in which all the stuff is kept! If you rip or cut the package, you will ruin the pouch that stores the horn supplies and you will ruin the pouch. The company staples the cardboard top on to the bag, so be careful when opening and don't rip or cut the package. Be careful not to rip or tear the pouch while removing the staples. However, if that's all you are looking for, this kit is a superb value for the price.
This is what I ordered instead of a string that I needed. My oil ran out too, so I also got some. The fingering chart didn't seem important to me since I have been playing the horn for a long time. As well as being careful with staples, it is important to me that my paperwork is error-free Not so much the staples in the package bothered me, I simply removed them and that made a good sealable package for storing all my supplies. My opinion of the oil is that it's excellent. My favorite part of the needle was its shape. My favorite oil has always been AlCas, and I really liked Monster Oil as well. It was fun to play with the little rubber monster The lead pipe of my horn was supposed to fit over it. The pencil was cute and I enjoyed it as well. For a horn player of any age group, I think this is a great kit to have.
The packaging of the product makes it dangerous, even though the product itself is fine. In the plastic pouch that everything comes in, there is a zipper at the bottom, which hides screws and staples. In the process of unzipping the pouch, one of the hidden staples cut into my finger. This is something that I would never allow a child to open as an adult. It's a good product, but the packaging is unsafe.
Initially, I just needed string and grease, but this kit turned out to be a good bargain with a number of useful items. A good kit for the money.
