Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this oil on a C trumpet?

This oil is suitable for use on a C trumpet. It's a quick-drying oil that'll work wonders on new valves.

Is trumpets the only instrument that this is used for? Is it possible to play trombones with this?

The following is from the manufacturer: Our trombone slide lube is fantastic. Please see B004IHFMFY or Google Ultra Pure Trombone for more information.

Is this bottle only for refilling or can it also be used to lubricate valves?

It has a lid that allows you to oil the valves.

Is the small bottle and tips included in this package?

I'm not sure if the small bottle is available on Amazon, but I've seen them. I purchased my first bottle of this oil from a local music store. I purchase the large bottle and simply transfer the contents to a smaller, more convenient bottle.

The same safe product under a different label! This is a product that I've been using for a year
5/5

It has exceeded my expectations. I was afraid of the new warning on the label when I ordered this refill bottle. I was concerned that the formulation had shifted. I inquired about the toxicity warning by calling the manufacturer. They explained that the new label is merely a legal requirement, and that the product is identical to what I've been using all along. The oil has no toxic fumes (or odor), but if you (or a child) drink it, then vomit it and breathe in the vomit, the oil will coat their lungs and cause problems. No harm will come to me if I use this on my valves and successfully suck air from the lead pipe. I'm so happy! As someone who has already been diagnosed with lung cancer, this was a major concern for me. I'm relieved to know that I can keep using this oil without fear!.

For the past 30 years, I've used Al Cass because it always made my valves feel the quickest and lightest, but in recent years, I've experimented with a variety of other brands in an attempt to find a lubricant that would last longer in a dry climate
4/5

(I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada) Al Cass and Pure are very similar. The valves have a smoother action, but they dry out faster. For a longer-lasting oil, I use Hetman. br>br>It's a moot point because I oil my valves every time I take a horn out and keep the insides of my horns spotless. My valves have never let me down. I've even used store-bought oil that performs just as well as any other. It's all about having a clean ax. Because the piston system on a trumpet is not closed like that of an internal combustion engine, it must be oiled on a regular basis. I'm familiar with cats who proudly declare: "I oil my valves every couple of weeks, and they never fail because I use Hetman. " (Or Blue Juice, or Ultra-Violet Juice. ) Pure, for example. ) The valves are beginning to deteriorate. They'll eventually stop touching the casings' sides, but they'll still move! The end result? br>br> Valve oil that is good and sufficient.

Valve oil is the only option I have
5/5

Two Carol Brass trumpets and one Yamaha trumpet are among the instruments I play. Ultra-violet is a product that Carol Brass recommends. Pure. The "regular" weight is more suitable for daily use. Because it has a lower viscosity (it's almost as runny as water), I use the "light" weight oil for breaking in valves (Carol Brass requires at least 2 weeks of daily cleaning). In my valve casings, the light weight oil doesn't last as long. br>br>If you buy directly from Ultrapure, you'll get an empty small bottle and four tips, which are nice but not required because the large bottles come with fold-out trays. Oil is dripped (rather than poured) over the caps. TSA (airport security) will allow Ultrapure oil to be shipped because it is non-flammable, according to the company's president (who also plays and teaches trumpet). However, I've had issues with various types of fluids in checked luggage on airlines, particularly at PDX (Portland International Airport), which is the closest major airport to the Ultrapure headquarters. Perhaps a large decal emphasizing the importance of valve oil safety would be beneficial to security personnel.

I've never used a better valve oil
4/5

Despite oiling the valves on my trumpet with al cass several times a day, my valves were sticking a lot. Then I had the bright idea to look into a new valve oil. This is the one I ordered, and I absolutely adore it! I no longer need to oil my valves every time I take my trumpet out, and they are extremely smooth. The bottle is the only negative aspect. If you don't replace the child lock lid after dispensing the oil with the other lid, you'll have oil all over your case. Instead, I'd like to purchase a smaller bottle that I could refill. In any case, I highly recommend it!.

I've never used a better valve oil
5/5

This item was purchased for my daughter, who is just beginning to learn how to play the trumpet. I don't know much about the band (but I really like the way it sounds!). ) and I based my decision solely on the advice of others. The oil is a big hit with her. Thank you so much for taking the time to write reviews on products that are beneficial to people like me! We put a lot of faith in you!.

Excellent product! This is a great oil that showed me the following qualities while I was using it:
- Temperature has no effect on it
5/5

- There are no 'floaties' or discoloration in this clear fluid.
- When this is used, trumpet valves respond extremely quickly.
- There is no unpleasant odor.
- It's not even close to being flammable.
- I'll never go back to a smaller bottle size because the large one is perfect for me. br>Any musician who plays an instrument with pistons or rotors should get this product!.

I'm glad there's a Refill Size option! I've been using Ultra Pure for a few years now on two french horns, one marching horn, and two trumpets, and it's the best valve oil I've ever used
5/5

I've also purchased Ultra Pure packs from some sellers, which include a cleaning brush or brushes, as well as two light oils for french horn pistons, levers, and keys, as well as the required lube. The top insides of the french horn tubing are clean and free of gunky residue from their lubes and oil, and the slides glide smoothly. The trumpet and marching horn slides are also fantastic, and they kept our Getzens and Kanstul in great shape without requiring nearly as much lubrication and oiling as they should. There aren't any noxious chemical odors here. The valve oil isn't too thick, but it has just the right viscosity to last, and I'm glad I was able to find a refill size!.

I have yet to open it
5/5

I can't give this purchase a rating because it's the same brand as the trumpet it came with. I'll use this bottle to refill the original bottle that came with my trumpet. After being away from playing for far too long, I've been working on regaining my chops. This oil is manufactured in the United States and performs admirably.
