Questions & Answers

Would you mind telling me the dimensions of the pocket on the outside of the bag? My son has a large band folder we are trying to fit inside. My sincere thanks go out to ?

You sent me an email. I appreciate it. This is the interior dimensions of the exterior pocket of item # MX316CT The dimensions of this item are 11" (L) x 12 5/8" (H)

How is the horn held in place by the backpack straps? The upright position is ideal. If the bell is horizontal or facing the sky, you will hear it. How did you get that horn coming out of the side of your ?

In this design, the bell is angled so it does not stick out on the sides when it is flat on your back, i.e. it lies flat on your back with the bell facing skyward. Since I was a child I have never found it difficult to pass However, the bell is still below the top of my head even with my shoulder straps high. In addition to the shoulder straps, I'd like an additional belt strap to attach them across my chest, as another bag I have does, and this one does not have one. To date, the straps are solid and do not appear to have any sign of being prone to breakage even after My favorite part is being able to stow the straps easily. It is possible that you will not want to put your mouthpiece in the slot in the case. The case on mine was a bit tall, and I believe it caused damage to the hinge next to it by putting upward pressure on the two halves. Carry your mouthpiece in its own case in your side pocket, where you carry your metronome and tuner. As well as the music pocket on the back, I love it. - It fits my Conn double very well however, it is too small for a larger horn (the type used by Georgie) There is information you are not aware of. All in all, the case is a great, lightweight case at a good

In a double horn, can a straight mute be fitted as well as a bell?

You can put the mute in the case if it is quite short and does not go beyond the bell. It is possible to put it in the side pocket, though the zip will not be completely closed. Most horn players carry their mute in a pouch that is attached to their In my briefcase, along with the music, I keep mine. The rattle of the object could possibly cause small dents in the horn if it's in there. The bells of many professional horns are very thin Taking chances with a Paxman that costs so much is out of the question.

What is the maximum size of this case for one ?

That would be a good idea. My Conn 8D double horn is paired with my own. This is a perfect fit.

My only complaint is that I had to get this case because I was tired of my hard case hitting my knee
5/5

Thankfully, I no longer have that problem, and even if this case does hit my knee when I carry it by the handle (I usually carry a backpack for school), it does not hurt. I love the backpack straps as well. The pros are Please note Br>- I am light
I find it to be adequate in terms of protection given its price and size (I wouldn't throw it on the ground, but it prevents everyday knocks and bumps)*- An extra pocket in which you can keep your An additional pocket on the front of the main pocket can be used to put a tuner or a pencil in- The straps on the backpack - I've never used the shoulder strap (though I have not wished to)*br There is no issue with clipping the mute bag on. Cons Please note Br>- Despite making up a good amount of padding on the inside, it's made of Styrofoam, which has a tendency to crack/break (but it's never been an issue for me)*. (I have included a picture)

Pictures Using the mouthpiece holder for a long time leaves the mouthpiece with a permanent rim. This is *1/1. I've taken a picture of my case after about six months' use (also see my mute bag). I wrapped my mouthpiece around a rim.

This thing is very popular with my son
4/5

This is why I gave it four stars instead of five, since I haven't looked at it or handled it yet. My 6th grader wanted one because the one that came with his instrument was too old for him and his age was older than mine as well. The only thing holding on is thin air. The last buckle was threatening to break and I was afraid it would fail There would be a fallout when the horn fell This has 3 different ways to carry it, and he loves that it has a lot of different places for pennies. There is less weight on it than on the prehistoric one. (His band folder is a 3 ring binder of an inch in diameter &ndash just fits) All the other kids are jealous of his case, he told me. It is a bus ride to the restaurant & the mall The school year's over & the holidays are upon us I am happy with how the case has handled so far. My son used this all year, so I will update if we find any issues. **07/02/18 Edited to add my son used this 3 of the kids have asked their band teacher where we got it. He reached out to me to find out where we got I really liked how well it held up & it looked great He is a hard worker in all aspects of his life. Next year he won't participate in band, so we donated the case to the band department and he no longer has the case. It was such a joy to be around the instructor. The other of my two sons plays trumpet and guitar As well as the Pro Tec case, we are buying him another one.

The price you pay is the quality you get! Lightweight and costing $100, this is a good case to have
3/5

I was dissatisfied with the build cause it was below average. If I was to take my $6000 instrument with me, I wouldn't put it in this case. Styrofoam covered with plastic). A French Horn of that caliber would be a disaster.

I have been a band director for more than 36 years and am also a professional horn player. If you need a way to transport a French horn between school and home or to store one in the closet, this case would make sense. As a result, it's likely to provide about as much protection as a soft-cover book A side gig bag is a useful addition. The only problem is that I wouldn't use it when Your investment is better protected if you spend more money. It would certainly not be a good idea to buy this for your little middle school band students, who will likely be rough on the I used to tell my dad that if you buy a Ferrari, buy the best tires and oil you can afford. “There are better options, there is no doubt.

This is not a long-term issue
3/5

In the beginning, I had received mine in the original wooden case that came with it (Holton h179). In addition to the broken corner of the case at the time of purchase, the horn (used from a college student) was in incredibly poor condition. A case that had been in use for many years finally deteriorated. The case I bought for my horn was my 7th grade purchase. It was mostly the fact that the case was lighter than the others, and that it had a backpack strap that attracted me. The money for this case was saved up for months. The new case had finally arrived a week after the expected delivery date. opened the envelope, I saw there were two crates in it instead of one. A subsequent donation to the school was made of the other case. Within 6 months, the Styrofoam around the hinges had broken off, the only thing still holding it in place is the fabric. In fairness, I did take it home every day after school when I was a student. After about 1 1/2- 2 years, I have noticed that it has left a mark on the tip of In the band room the other day, I had checked on the other horn case we had donated to the school to see if it was experiencing After just opening and closing the case every day, the outside of the case was in perfect condition (he doesn't practice at home -- never takes his horn home) but the hinges were broken! Apart from those two things I've mentioned, this case is amazing! I'm only starting to notice a couple of problems with it, but to me it seems perfect.

This backpack has excellent quality and a great feature of backpack straps
5/5

I'm so glad I found this! Originally I had a different case, but it broke and I had to buy this one. Buying my horn at a yard sale was the best thing I've ever done. The serial number I have is not visible. We do not know any brand names. It contains no information that could be used to identify it. A bit of a gamble paid off when I bought this case. It was a little hard to believe the case was a little cheap and flimsy despite the fact that it is "hard. " I can assure you that this was not the case! Upon seeing the quality of the case, I wish that was the case in which the good horn come in. I've now found myself wishing this was the case I rented when I rented my first horn. Additionally, the bag comes with a backpack strap. If I had these when I was walking to and from school in high school, everything would have been much easier.

This is an excellent argument
5/5

This is a very good My fifth grader is currently using an old horn that I have bought years ago and has a heavy case. This will be great for him. He likes the way it's so much lighter than his old one and it's pretty durable. I wish they were removable as the shoulder strap and backpack straps are nice but aren't. You will also find a nice pocket on the side - Unfortunately, his band folders are not big enough for it, so it is too small for a lot of his music.

I like this case a lot! Never in my life have I waited so long to buy a camera case such as I love that the fold-out backpack straps make this half the weight of my regular case, while giving it the same level of protection
5/5

The fit of this wallet is quite good for my Holton H179. The hard case is just a tiny bit larger so that the horn doesn't lock into place, but the tiny bit of movement doesn't affect the sound. The only complaint I have is there are only one slot instead of two for the mouthpiece. I don't know. There is no need to worry about this. In the outside pouch, you can store books or sheet music, but the size is not big enough for large A second time The lack of a deadline isn't It is recommended that you buy one if you are still using a hard case.
