I am the band director at our school, and I ordered this for one of the There is a lot of strength in this case. I believe it would be much more useful than a regular case. As a result of its high durability, ours has handled bus wear very well, and protects the instrument very
As a double holton Farkas 179, it fits perfectly. I don't think the size of the horns of different brands will vary that much, so my guess is that it should work out fine. I think the case looks great.
do not know the exact weight, but alone, it feels pretty light to me. Despite my horn and everything in it, I can still carry it around campus with no problem.

It did not fit my camera, but I read a review saying it did, so I bought it just in case it would have fit my Conn 8D camera. I really wanted it to fit, as it's a very thick and robust case that is built to last.
This case is holding up well after a month of heavy use by a heavy user. During the school day, my son takes the horn in and out of the car, the bus, and the music room, and I sometimes throw it around on purpose. In addition to protecting the horn, it is holding up well. Carrying it is easy because it is light. Although it is not as protective as a rigid case, I would rate it as a good everyday case because of its compactness, and lightweight design. It's a great purchase, and we are happy with it.
It was a good deal for one of my horns and I'm extremely satisfied with the materials and workmanship.
Shawn The FOTI is My previous case was a soft gig bag type. I purchased this case after many years of using one. With plenty of soft padding and room for different horn wraps, this case will fit most horns. Construction of the frame is based on a durable wooden framework. A large side pocket offers enough storage for oils, grease, pencils, tuner, tools, etc. Two mouthpiece holders are included in the inside pocket. This bag is a bit heavy, but it also comes with a very nice (comfortable) My purchase couldn't have come at a better time. Any horn player looking to protect their money-making instrument will find this case to be of great help. am looking for a bag that will fit my fixed bell horn and was considering Gator ProTec was the best choice I ever made. The products they make are excellent for musicians. It is a recommendation I can make without reservations.
A case like this one will ensure that your French horn is safe from the elements, and would be recommended to anyone who wishes to protect their French While it is a little heavy and has a padded shoulder strap, there are attachments for a backpack harness (an extra charge). As it is 9lbs empty, once it has the horn in it and a few supplies added you can add a couple more lbs. I highly recommend Brasswinds and Woodwinds because it is a wonderful company to work with via the Internet or by phone!.
The case is the best. It comes with a plywood frame that is solidly built. Despite this, it is still quite light. The case is secured with numerous zippers and Velcros to prevent it from falling open without the horn inside accidentally. With the option of turning into a backpack, it is a great product. While I have not put it in an airline baggage hold, I would say that if anything would survive that (short of an anvil case) I would pick this.
I commend you on your outstanding work! To go with the backpack, we also purchased a padded strap. With this backpack, our son wasn't as burdened by the weight of his backpack when walking home. Also, it's a great case, with a pocket that allows easy storage and a thick, sturdy core to protect against scratches.
The French Horn case I ordered here is just what my son needs to carry the French Horn to and from The backpack straps and this were a present I bought him for his birthday. His arms and hands can be free to carry school books and his trumpet, and he loves it because he has this opportunity. My favorite thing about this horn is that it has a protective "shell" that protects it from walking through school hallways. The investment was well worth it.
