I purchased this with the intention of using it with my smoker. It works well for about an hour and a half, but the probe battery runs out after that. I have to wait until I think my food is almost done before using it because I usually cook ribs for two hours and butts for about six. It works well for quick oven cooking but isn't ideal for smoking.
If everything goes according to plan, a lot of/worn Even if my beloved Polder temp probe had finally given up the ghost, this purchase would have been unwise. Justifiable, perhaps, but unwise. Yes, the Yummly thermometer is accurate. That's all I've got at the moment. br>br>I hate to say it, but this is an extremely costly solution to a problem that no one has. br>br>I thought it'd be nice to have all of the temperature presets onboard, but thanks to the internet, I already have that information on my phone. For free. And your phone won't pierce your filet mignon like a bullet. br>br>What you're actually getting is a ridiculously large app that tries to be your BFF, iron your clothes, and walk your dog while giving you younger-looking results. In just seven days, you can have younger-looking skin. The startup survey took 15 minutes even after skipping through much of it. It included recipes, menus, shopping lists, personalized ingredient preferences, food allergies, vegan, keto, and other topics. I'm not saying big data is Yummly's true cash cow, but I'm not sure thermometers are either. br>br>There are a plethora of excellent wireless temperature probes available. You can get a much nicer ThermoPro, Inkbird, or Soraken for half the price of this beast. NOTE: The best thermometer for you will be determined by the type of cooking you will be doing! If you like to grill or smoke, connectivity range and accuracy at lower temperatures are essential. Before you spend a lot of money on one of these, do some research. br>br>So Yummly is joining the Kitchen Claws, strawberry slicer, and eight different attempts to find the perfect egg poaching device in the Drawer of Shame. I'm blaming it on a year of boredom and isolation, because otherwise I'd have to admit I'm an idiot.
I was looking for a wireless thermometer, and this one is ideal because it does everything I need it to. It's been able to withstand high temperatures in the oven, frying pan, and grill with ease. It's incredible how precise it is. Their app, on the other hand, is far from perfect. It's a pain to navigate through all of the recipes and advertisements to find the thermometer page. It's simple, but compared to some of the other products I've used with apps in the past, it's unnecessary, and getting connected is a pain. I'm a fairly tech-savvy and patient person, but this product put my patience to the test. The connection drops from time to time - as well as without prior notice All of these are problems with the app. However, it is a necessary part of using their product, and I assume that their app will be updated - As a result, take this with a pinch of salt - However, as of today, it is a pain to use, but I enjoy it.
I was dissatisfied with the accuracy of this product, which I purchased for our Thanksgiving turkey. We would have all gotten food poisoning if it hadn't been for my husband's basic meat thermometer. Despite the fact that it was turned on, it displayed a temperature that was 20 degrees higher than the actual temperature. and demonstrated that the turkey was done about an hour before it was supposed to be done. It is difficult to operate, charge, and pair. I'm out $100 because the return window closed before I could use it. This item should never be purchased. We've tried several times since Thanksgiving, and it's always 10 degrees off. I'm currently cooking roast beef, and the thermometer on Cooks Country says it's 10 degrees warmer. This isn't something you should buy.
I love Yummly recipes and was tired of guessing whether my meat was done on the grill or not, so I decided to try this. I hooked it up to the app, inserted the thermometer into my fillet, and told it what I wanted. It also told me when to flip it, take it off, and when it was ready to eat (after the required resting period). For the first time, I was able to cook a perfect medium-rare steak without leaving the grill running or blaming the grill for overcooking my wife's steak. My meat is the one thing 2020 can't mess up for me right now. MeatMan2020 is a website dedicated to all things meat.
We looked at a lot of the highly recommended thermometers before deciding to give this one a shot. We made a good decision because it is exactly what we were looking for, and we are very pleased with our purchase. br>br>I've included a photo of the thermometer being unboxed to show how high-end it is. The packaging is well-designed, with clean graphics and a pleasant feel. The probe itself is heavy and feels more substantial than many other flimsy thermometers on the market. You don't have to be concerned about bending a bone by accident. br>br>The readings are reliable and consistent, so you can rest assured that a false reading will not ruin your meal. You won't lose heat by checking the temperature in your oven, grill, or smoker because it's wireless. There will be no more temperature fluctuations that result in uneven cooking or long cook times. br>br>Using the app is simple, and you have complete control over how much of the Yummly ecosystem you want to integrate. It's up to you whether you want to keep it simple with just a temperature and time reading or use Yummly's full suite of services. br>br>There is no visible temperature on the probe, which is an obvious trade-off compared to some other popular thermometers. As the only source of information, you are reliant on your phone. It's not that it's a bad thing; it's just that it exists.
Simply get some meat (chicken, fish, steak, whatever), connect the thermometer to the Yummly app (which is awesome for recipes and amazing cooking lessons even if you don't have the thermometer), and place the thermometer in the thickest part of the meat, and you're ready to cook. Do you prefer your food medium rare? It detects the done-ness of the task automatically. ness level and alerts you when it's time to flip and remove your meat. With salmon, duck legs, steak, and chicken, I tried it in an oven, a smoker, and on a grill. Even a turkey was successful! It also tells you how long the meat should rest and when it's ready to eat at the end. In my family, I went from zero to hero. With this handy little tool, dinners are delicious and restaurant-quality!.
