Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Completely waterproof: The digital meat thermometer with probe has an IPX6 waterproof rating, which means you can safely wash it under running water.
Calibration: The calibration function allows you to re-calibrate the cooking thermometer for higher precision after a long period of use of the meat probe thermometer, resulting in a grilling thermometer that lasts a lifetime.
Instant read meat thermometer has a food-grade stainless steel probe with a precise sensor that gives readings in 3-4 seconds with an accuracy of 0 degrees. The temperature is 9 degrees Fahrenheit.
When the temperature probe is removed from the kitchen thermometer, it can lock the readouts, so don't peer dangerously into the grill or oven.
Intelligent design: Digital food thermometer with magnetic back and hook for easy storage; Meat thermometers for grilling with backlit display for readability in low light conditions; Switchable between degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius; Battery included

Questions & Answers

Is this thermometer suitable for making candy?

My oven only gets to around 210 degrees Fahrenheit. As a result, mine would be ineffective at the much higher temperatures required for candy production.

Is this intended to be used in the oven?

If that is what you mean, you cannot leave it in the oven. When roasting a turkey, however, you open the oven door and use this thermometer to check if the turkey is done. The long probe (which keeps your arm out of the heat) and the ability to save the reading (so you don't have to stick your head in the oven to try to read the temperature while it's inserted into whatever you're measuring) are two of the thermometer's advantages. We like it a lot.

Have you had any other problems with the power button? I've had to repeatedly press the power button in the hopes of getting it to turn on. It doesn't always work out. ?

Problems should be repeated several times. It worked after I replaced the batteries. I'm not going to use it again the next time I go. The battery is always being depleted by something. Because of this ongoing issue, I believe it is most likely a defect and would not purchase again.

Is the temperature calibrated to start at a certain temperature or should it be at zero before inserting into the meat?

When it's below zero degrees outside, the. Before inserting it into the object to be measured, it must read zero. Otherwise, it will simply display the standard air temperature. If the temperature in your kitchen is below zero, I'd recommend investing in a furnace rather than a thermometer.

ThermoPro was a bad company to work with
3/5

The thermometer did its job admirably. It came with instructions as well as an offer from ThermoPro to send me a free thermometer if I wrote a review and shared it on Instagram. They told me I needed to leave another review on a different link after I finished writing the first one. I did it the same day, and then they told me I needed to upload a photo. That's what I did, and they haven't responded to my messages in over a month. I've been patient and all I wanted was communication about what's going on, but they've ignored me. I only give one star because of this experience. It's too bad because I had planned on purchasing several thermometers for my kitchen staff.

I didn't realize I needed this kitchen tool until it was too late
5/5

The thermometer appeared to be dead when I took it out of the package. The battery is already installed, as evidenced by a quick tap on the power button. When the device is not in use, it is set to save the battery. It worked without the need to calibrate the thermometer, but I appreciate that the company provides instructions if they are needed. This is the second time I've bought one. When my husband praised the quality and needed it for the Thanksgiving turkey, I immediately gave my first purchase to our aunt. I'm a vegetarian, so I only use it to make sure the water temperature is between 80 and 120 degrees for bread or yogurt (the testing wand is too long for a 1-cup measuring cup). It's not the best measuring cup, but it gets the job done. It doesn't have a clip to keep it in place in the water, but the reading is immediate. My old one took a long time to warm up and required clipping to keep track of the temperature. br>Major Advantage: Tossing it at the fridge and watching it magnetically stick to the side gives me a thrill. br>Washing it afterwards is also simple because I only have to wash the metal part; I don't put it in the dishwasher.

Purchasing is not recommended
3/5

When I cook, grill, or smoke food, I use a variety of instant read and wireless thermometers. I have thermo probes from Thermoworks, Maverick, Weber, and this one from Thermopro, as well as a few others I've purchased in the past, and I even double-checked the accuracy of this thermometer with other thermometers I own. It was only a few degrees apart from the rest of my probes. Accuracy is not a problem for me. I was grilling thick cut pork chops tonight, and after a few flips, I inserted the probe, which read 65 - 70 degrees. The temperature is 68 degrees. Based on my previous experiences, I was skeptical, so I pressed and held the power button a few times, and the temperature rose to around the same level. After that, I went back to my old go-to. A quick read from Weber's past. The number 138 was displayed on the screen. 150 So I turned off the grill and removed the chops. When I got inside, I noticed that the power and F/C change buttons on this device were the same. It was 140 degrees when I grabbed the Weber. 150 degrees Fahrenheit Then it dawned on me that I had been measuring in degrees Celsius. Even when I was inside, I couldn't get it to change, and the F/C designation is written in a font that is more difficult to read than the temperature. br>br>Then I realized that the power and F/C buttons were one and the same. Who would do something like this in their right mind? I've attached a photo of some of the thermoproves I've tested in comparison to this one. The F/C scale is paired with the power button on this one and only this one. br>br>Based on this issue, the only recommendation I can make is to avoid purchasing this product; I can recommend the other products in the photo, but this is an engineering flaw that will affect other products. I've passed the Amazon return deadline, but I'm curious if the manufacturer will address this problem. I have nothing but praise for several Thermoworks products, but the company appears to be catching up and failing miserably. Sorry, but I have to call it as I see it. Thermopro - Thermopro - Thermopro - Thermopro - Thermopro - Thermo Take the tried-and-true method that has worked for others. Maintain a logical order of buttons. I look forward to hearing from you.

Gadget looks really cool
5/5

This digital meter works great, has a needle-like probe that can easily penetrate food, and the featured functions work as advertised. However, it worked differently than I expected; when it said 3 seconds for a reading in the description, I assumed it meant exactly that; I would touch something with the probe and it would show a number in 3 seconds, but instead it gradually climbs to the accurate temperature, which takes about 3 seconds, but at least it starts climbing. What I like best about this product is that when you turn it on, the backlight turns on automatically. They claim it’s 100% waterproof, but I will not verify that. It appeals to my tastes. It works for me.

It's a well-made product that's also very easy to use
5/5

This thermometer has been in use for a month now. It is precise as well as lightweight. It's that easy. If the readings aren't accurate, there's a calibration mode. If you're out at the grill and can't see the screen, you can press a button to keep the temperature steady.

This is simply not true
3/5

The calibration feature piqued my interest, but it is ineffective in addressing the inaccuracy. The product was unable to calibrate with ice water. These were purchased in twos; Units stayed the same after multiple calibrations in the same ice water. It's not good enough to be 2 degrees apart. Also, I wouldn't calibrate to a temperature of 32 degrees. During calibration, it would only go to 34 degrees. The value is supposed to be reset to 32. Water temperature is 32 degrees in other brands. (I used another digital unit to check the temperature of the water).

Meat thermometer of excellent quality that can be used instantly
5/5

I've been using low-cost thermometers, which aren't particularly "instant," taking a long time to reach a steady state. You've used up all of your oven/grill heat by then. This one works and locks in the temperature in less than a second. I haven't tested it for "waterproofness," but it appears to be adequate. This is something I strongly suggest!.

This is more than accurate
5/5

I just got the thermometer today, so I can't comment on its longevity or battery life. I double-checked the accuracy and found nothing to complain about. It takes very little time to give a reading, and I could almost immediately get an accurate reading of another item without having to wait for it to return to ambient temperature. So far, it's been a five-star experience.
