While I accept full responsibility, I believe that the fact that it is a meat thermometer used to cook at high temperatures *should" imply that the product is made of materials that can withstand such temperatures. Unfortunately, it's made of low-cost plastic. br>br>The thermometer has a nice compact design that I like, with the probe folding flush against the side to turn it off and store it. The device turns on when you remove the probe. Handy! The display is easy to read, though it appears to count slowly (tenths of a degree when the temperature is much higher). I didn't have time for that, so I opened the probe at an angle, inserted the probe's end into some chicken I was cooking, and placed the probe's other end on the stove. The part of the probe that connects to the thermometer quickly melted. In other words, no longer than four minutes. As a result, it will no longer shut. Which - What's more, This indicates that it will not shut down. To use on this chicken, I literally took it out of the box. I just took out the battery to turn it off because I'd only used it once and it still works fine. br>br>Again, while I fully acknowledge that it was my own stupid fault for using it in this manner, how are you supposed to use it? Take it in and put it in multiple times, causing extra holes in the meat you're cooking and resulting in the loss of those valuable juices? It's probably best to just cut it open and check instead of going through the hassle. br>br>It does come with extra batteries, which was a nice surprise, and I'll keep using it until I'm sick of having to remove the battery every time, but I wouldn't buy it again.

It's just a bit clumsy and big. When I saw it in person, I was taken aback by its size. It works well, but it is a little awkward to use. br>I've come to the realization that I prefer non-alcoholic beverages. fold- Because the angle at which the probe must be inserted into the food is difficult to maintain, an out probe version was created. I find that using a folding probe with the readout on top is much more convenient. So, despite the fact that it performs admirably, I will only award it four stars due to its shape and size.

A few days ago, I finally got around to using it. It was extremely quick and, I assume, accurate. To be honest, we're sorry we didn't get one sooner. I can't believe I waited so long for the darn thing to "possibly" reach temperature while using an old style one. This is a wonderful one.

Quick. I'm amazed at how quickly the temperature is recorded. I like how compact it is and how little space it takes up. It's magnetic, which makes grilling a breeze. It's very simple to read numbers. I tried out the light but have yet to put it to use. This is one of my go-to chicken recipes. Holding and piercing meat is a breeze. Cleaning is a breeze. I would strongly suggest it.

The temperature guide and easy-to-read screen, as well as the simple on/off and settings, make this the most accurate, useful, and best thermometer on the market. The temperature guides can be found on both the guide sheet and the thermometer. It also comes with two more batteries! If you want to hang it, it has a magnet and a hole for hanging it on a hook as well. One of the best I've ever used.

After cooking some delicious medium-rare steaks, I washed it and hung it to dry until the next time I needed it. When I tried to use it today, the screen would not read and there was water damage all over it. It was a huge let down.

So far, this product has performed admirably. I like how it turns on and off depending on whether the probe is inserted or removed. There are large numbers that I can see, as well as a bright backlight. I also appreciate the fact that it can be cleaned by submerging it in water. I ruined a lot of thermometers by attempting to clean them. Overall, this thermometer is well worth the price, which was actually quite low in comparison.

When not in use, it folds up and turns on instantly when opened. It is very easy to read because of the large readout. It also includes a lighted LCD screen for use at night. Thermometer with digital readout that is very nice.
