Yes, I'm cooking on a gas grill with it. It displays the surface temperature, which is more suitable for grilling than the temperature displayed on the lid.
Place the tip of the probe in the center of the steak. This will provide you with an accurate temperature reading of the meat.
If a cloth or sponge with water and dish soap does not remove the residue, make a paste with baking soda and water, let it sit on the glass for 10 minutes, then scrub it off with a sponge or paper towel.

I bought this analog thermometer to check the temperature of the grill. This product had high hopes for me, but it appears to be extremely unreliable. When I light my propane grill, the grill thermometer, which is literally sitting on the grill right under the fire and barely moves, begins to respond to the temperature rise caused by the fire. This thermometer was 50 degrees cooler than the hood thermometer during a long (8-hour) cook. What makes you think that? This is right on the grill, and it shows a lower temperature than the grill's hood thermometer. This CANNOT be recommended as a thermometer due to the long time it takes to reach temperature and the disparity between the hood thermometer and the hood thermometer. Avoid it.
Although this thermometer reads the temperature directly on the grill surface, it appears to respond to temperature changes very slowly. For changes to register on the dial, the entire body of the thermometer must heat or cool, which takes time. For example, if I move it from the hot to the cool (shut off) side of my gas grill, it will take 10 minutes for the new, cooler temperature reading to stabilize. The delay factor means you won't really know what's going on in your grill if you change the size of the flame. Furthermore, half of the numbers on the dial were painted in a bright red color that faded to a dull gold color after a few uses, making them difficult to read. The black numbers appear to be in good condition.
Today, my thermometer blew up, splattering glass all over my food. I'm glad the cover was closed; otherwise, I'd be in the ER with glass in my face right now! Grease gets burned on, and you have to clean it frequently - br>br>Basic problem Otherwise, it's impossible to understand. I did that last week and noticed that the thermometer had gotten wet inside. It had been draining for a few days - I thought it was clear, but it wasn't, so I fired up the grill while the thermometer sat on the counter. BANG! The thermometer was placed on the hot grill, the cover was closed, and BANG! I'm guessing there's still some water inside. br>br>Make your own decision. Is there something you'd like to muck around with? br>br>I'm not the only one who has struggled with this.
This is what I use to check the temperature of my grill. My grill has a temperature problem because the "low" setting is too hot, and the "high" setting isn't hot enough. To get my gas line where I needed it, I had to install a needle valve. br>br>All right, let's get started. This thermometer is exactly what I need. It's very accurate, easy to read, and long-lasting. Just make sure you don't use water to clean it; instead, wipe it clean after it has cooled.
if it actually worked The design is fantastic. Its large print makes it easy to read, and the handles allow you to move it around without getting burned. br>br>Unfortunately, it responds slowly and consistently reads around 100 degrees below zero. Too bad. It would be fantastic if it wasn't for that. br>br>It appears that I missed the return window and am now stuck with it.
Moisture was found under the glass lens of the Escali thermometer. Both thermometers were cleaned with a damp cloth but not immersed in water. The first use of the Escall was hampered by fogging. I can't recommend it. Invest in the CDN label.
I bought this to go with my new outdoor griddle. I used to own one, but it was stolen. Numbers that are easy to read and are extremely accurate when compared to those fancy laser devices. Cleaning is a breeze. Stays on my griddle the entire time it's cooking, ensuring that the food is evenly cooked. A must-have item.
The thermometer's thin, detachable handles were well-thought-out. I was able to pick up the thermometer from the grille without burning my fingers, even when it was resting on top of it at high temperatures. It's also stainless steel, which makes cleaning a breeze. Simply blot it.
