ENZOO Thermometer Reviewbr>I was ready to return this and buy one that was three times the price, with only 4% giving it a one-star rating and after reading a slew of negative reviews, I was ready to return it without even opening the box, but curiosity got the better of me, and I did. br>br>Initial Impression: br>The items were thoughtfully laid out, and it appeared to be a high-quality item to be honest. A thermometer, of course, does not need to be attractive. It needs to be able to accurately measure temperature, and those reviews with probes that are dozens of degrees out of sync with each other don't inspire confidence, and we all know China isn't known for its quality control. head so. The four probes were perfectly matched and accurate and precise when measuring something with a known temperature – water boiled at precisely 212 degrees, and the outdoor temperature was exactly 81 degrees. I thought to myself, "This is something I could really use. " Thoughts: br>br> Except for setting a specific temperature alarm (which is useful when smoking), I've put this little gem through its paces. I didn't actually measure 500 feet to see if the receiver and transmitter could still communicate. I believe it will work fine at a range, allowing you to remain safe and comfortable in your favorite chair while monitoring what's going on in your grill, over, or smoker, and I haven't tried any of the pre-programmed options. Because they appeared to work for nearly everyone who tried them, programmed settings were chosen. br>br>Final Thoughtsbr>If I find a flaw of any kind, I'll report it here, but in the meantime, I think this is a fantastic little monitor that, with proper care, will last for years, so. . . I RECOMMEND THIS LITTLE GEM! It's a powerful machine, so read the manual and put it through its paces. It has a lot of options that you'll find useful, but too many options can lead to confusion, which is why I recommend going through the paces. I believe your purchase will meet your expectations.
I was excited to try these probes out on a new smoker that I had recently purchased. The unit/transmitter pairing and setup were both extremely simple. It's fantastic that the monitor can be left on the kitchen counter while the probes are in the backyard. We used all four temperature probes during our smoke session. Even though all four probes were in the same piece of meat, one of the probes would randomly jump up to 500 degrees, and another probe was showing higher temperatures than the others. br>br>After using them, I put the four probes in boiling water to see if one was off by 25 degrees. 30F. I was unable to capture a photo of the other probe's temperature randomly rising. br>br>The probe(s) were only used once - We are dissatisfied with the probes' inaccuracy, which took a total of about 5 hours. If these had worked, I would have given them five stars for the price and ease of use. However, because two of the four probes have incorrect temperatures, we can only give it two stars.
I really wanted to like this product, and after unboxing and setting it up, I did. It appears to be well-made, and the user interface is simple. The issue is that it is entirely incorrect. I ran a number of tests. Bottom line: when all four probes were used, and they were all within 4" of each other, there was a 20 to 40 degree F difference in temperature between them. /- would have sufficed for me. 5 degrees is the temperature. I'd have put up with /- in a heartbeat. The temperature is currently at 8 degrees. but 40? no. br>I tried resetting them, raising the temperature to 325 degrees, lowering it to 70 degrees, increasing the temperature from 225 to 250 degrees, and STILL there were 30 degree differences between probes that were almost in the same location. If you don't know the temperatures within 30 degrees, you won't be able to smoke BBQ. Or 40. It's impossible to put your faith in him. I gave it back to you.
It had to be opened and set up as soon as it arrived. Great price, good quality, and fast delivery as usual from Amazon. br>Setup is very simple. Having four probes is fantastic. All of the items were checked at room temperature while being held in my hand, and the temperature was adjusted as it should have been. It's crucial not to immerse the probes in water; instead, simply wipe them clean. I'm looking forward to a fantastic grilling and smoking season this year. After a few months of use, I'll update, but for now, this looks like a winner for 20. 00! br>At long last, I was able to put this unit to the test. I used two probes to monitor the temperatures of two racks and two in the chicken breasts. br>After setting up and installing the grill, I went inside and sat in the air conditioning until the chicken's internal temperature reached 165 degrees. It was around 250 degrees when I smoked it. br>Well, I must say, it's the first time I've ever reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit without ever firing up the grill. br>The chicken was delicious, and everyone said it was the best I've ever prepared. Given that I've been doing this type of cooking for 40 years, I have to admit that cooking to temperature and not worrying or looking all the time is the way to go. br>Excellent thermometer.
It's very simple to set up. I only read the instructions once before discarding them. It's simple to enter the type of meat and desired "doneness" level. each probe's "ness" I've had no problems with the range (the grill is in the driveway, right in front of the house). The temperature readings appear to be accurate and consistent. The probes, like the rest of the unit, appear to be well-made. br>br>The lack of a storage case is my only disappointment. The previous model had a nice semi-automatic transmission. Everything is stored and protected in a hard case. The new version is the same price as the previous one, but it does not come with a case. Perhaps I should have purchased the older one. Aside from that, it was an excellent buy!.
The unit works great, except that two of my probes were ruined by flame ups after my first use. Allowing the wires to come into contact with the grilling surface will quickly cause them to burn and destroy them. As a result, I would only use the probe where it protrudes from the meat, and make sure that all of the probe's slack is outside of the grill, or you will end up with fewer probes. Because the instruction booklet is too small for most people to read without a magnifying glass, this should be made clear in the instructions. Aside from that, the device performed admirably. At the very least, I still have two probes. By the way, based on what I've seen of other units online, it appears that they all have the same problem.
