Where 99. The fact that 9% of all products are made is annoying.
It's not a meat thermometer for the oven; instead, it's a temperature gauge.
I put it in whatever I'm cooking, so I'm guessing you'd do the same.
Any liquid can be tested for temperature with a probe thermometer, and the temperature can be determined in less than 10 seconds.

This thermometer seemed incredible at first. I've always overcooked meat because I couldn't tell when it was done, so this has been extremely helpful. I've had it for a few months and it's switched to Celsius on its own, and I can't get it to change back. The only positive aspect is that as a result of this, I'm now learning how to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit. It won't turn off on occasion. To get it to turn off, I have to press and hold the button repeatedly.
First and foremost, if you're looking for candy, swipe to the left and continue looking! It does say it can be used with candy, which is correct if you're willing to stand there and read it from some unusual angles. As the temperature rises, the numbers appear to become more jumbled. When it reached the proper temperature of 300 degrees Fahrenheit for hard candy, it steamed over and the screen went black. Overall, it functions, but not as well as you'd like or require, much like a temp service. I'm not going anywhere, unlike a temp. Don't get caught in the same situation as me.
I, on the other hand, assumed it was a temperature reading taken in a split second. Reading the temperature takes a long time with this one. When it comes to barbecuing, it's not the best. When barbecuing, an instant reading is critical, and this takes time; by the time it was finished, my grill had lost all of its heat.
When I first used this meat thermometer, it appeared that the display gradually climbed to a final temperature reading that was inaccurate (in comparison to the broken thermometer it replaced). ) As a result, I devised a simple test to determine just how slow and inaccurate it is. This thermometer's probe, as well as a fine gauge thermocouple probe for a professional grade temperature meter, were immersed in rapidly boiling water. The professional thermometer quickly displayed a precise temperature of 212 degrees Fahrenheit. After 45 seconds, the meat thermometer's readings gradually increased, peaking at 206F. The time it takes to display a final temperature is far too long for it to be useful for cooking, and I wouldn't trust the reading. I've already placed an order for a new meat thermometer.
95 dollars is a waste of money. When I put it in boiling water to test it, it was 7 degrees off. Not to mention that it is not an instant read. It was still registering after ten seconds. I'm surprised it has so many positive reviews unless it's a dud; however, I did see a four-star review that said it was good until it stopped working, so who knows.
I'm satisfied with it. I've had it for about a year and am very pleased with it. It isn't an immediate process. So you'll have to wait a few moments for it to register the temperature of whatever you're testing. It reads right side up in one hand and upside down in the other, depending on which hand you hold it in. It's not a major issue, but it's worth noting. I would like it to be a little longer if I could have anything else. When measuring in a pot on the stove, the hand is closer to the heat of the pot/whatever is being cooked while waiting the few seconds for the temperature to register, so a longer thermometer would be more comfortable. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it.
So, I recently purchased this for my macarons (instead of using the French method, I wanted to try the Swiss method). When melting sugar in egg whites above a double broiler, I need to know the temperature as soon as possible to avoid overcooking the egg whites. When I put the thermometer in, the directions said it would take 5 seconds to get a reading, but it took me over 30 seconds, and time is crucial! It was 85 degrees when I needed it, and it was 118 degrees when I needed it. The thermometer reader, on the other hand, increases AT A VERY SLOW RATE. Consider the following scenario: It starts at 85 and ends at 85. 4 to 85. 9 to 86. 5 to 87. From 0 to over 110, it's excruciatingly slow. I won't be able to return it because I waited far too long to use it, and my return window has now closed, but I will definitely purchase another one. Is mine the only one that behaves this way?.
I only used it twice before it stopped working for no apparent reason. I was out of ideas and thought it might be dead already. Then I noticed that it's completely rusted on the inside, which I find amusing given that I've only used it twice and it's been splashed by water in the main photo of this listing.
