Fishing
5/5

These are fantastic, especially for large musky and northern pike!! For river fishing, I now have two: one in the boat and the other in my backpack.

Other brands will not open the mouth as wide as you would like
5/5

These are the ones who can withstand the test of time. Other brands will not open the mouth as wide as you would like. The only option is to go with Baker.

With a few simple tweaks, these grippers could be even better! These heavy-duty 10" jaw spreaders are designed for pike, muskie, or walleye with large toothy jaws that close tightly when you grab them behind the head to remove your hook or lure
5/5

Very good as is, but I've made a few changes to improve them! I tied a 3' piece of paracord to the boat to keep the fish from slipping back into the water with the gripper still in its mouth. The second change I made to these grippers was to file the rough factory cut ends that were sprung together in storage so they would all align perfectly. This was simple to accomplish by slightly opening the ends and inserting a file between them, allowing the jaws to provide pressure while dragging the file across the mating surfaces to true them up. I used a doubled-over 1000 grit emery cloth to smooth out the file marks after I got the ends filed to match. The third improvement I made was to bend the ends in a vise so that when they were sprung together, they were perfectly aligned. They mate and align perfectly, so there are no edges to catch during storage. Last but not least, I deburred the filed edges with 400 grit emery paper to dull them slightly. They were a little too sharp as a result of the filing!.
