When I unwrapped the bubble wrap, screws shattered all over the counter. So there's no bag for the screws, and there's no tape to hold them together. It was all there, even the minor details. In addition, the package contained two loose hinges. Ok. The plexiglass was then covered to protect it from scratches, which was a great idea. Finally, I examined the rough-edged base, which was clearly not sanded and lacked a finish. And this is something that will be exposed to moisture from steam and other sources in the kitchen? We gently sanded the rough surface, smoothed it out, and cleaned the edges of splinters. We also discovered a lovely citrus wood finish that is a mix of oil and wax. We now have a lovely, functional product that should work well in a kitchen. One point deducted because, as a customer, I did not expect to buy a craft project when the item was advertised as an item rather than a kit. The plexiglass is of very high quality. After being sanded and treated, the wood looks stunning. I am confident that this stand will provide us with many years of service.

This book holder is both attractive and useful.

It appears to be made of redwood fence material, as it is dry and rough. When dry, it says to oil with mineral or cooking oil, so I'll give that a shot. That's the only thing I don't like about it, and for the price, I'd expect a polished/sanded furniture-grade product. br>br>So, I'll keep it for now and try to oil it. Otherwise, I'm going to have to return it.

100% strong recommendation This is fantastic! I searched high and low for a wood base cookbook holder that also protected the pages (to match the wood in my kitchen). This one is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The build quality is good, the materials are durable, it's simple to use, adjusts to various cookbook sizes, including some of my overly large ones, and it's made in the United States. br>br>I'd change one thing, and it's only one thing. I'd make an acrylic part cover available; it folds up so nicely for easy storage, but I'm lazy, so wrapping and unwrapping the parts with a tea towel irritates me. I'm quite sensitive to scratches, and I *really* don't want it scratched, so I do cover it; however, it would be preferable if it were simpler.

First and foremost, I appreciate the fact that this stand is made in the United States of America. Second, it's the ideal solution to my cookbook dilemma in the kitchen. I cook a lot and have a lot of cookbooks, not to mention large binders full of recipes I've collected from other people and the internet. My large binders are kept upright and open with the help of this stand. If I had one criticism, it would be that the bottom slip grips are unnecessary. It does, after all, have tiny toes. (Because my countertop is slick, I'm going to put a piece of non-slip under it. ) )br>Customer service was excellent. My first holder arrived with the base broken and the front shield missing, and I'm not sure if it was Amazon or the company. I went to Amazon, printed a return label, and my new cookbook holder arrived before I could get to the UPS store, and it is perfect. br>I highly recommend this cookbook holder to anyone who is an avid cook or just likes to putter in the kitchen from time to time.

It's one of my most treasured possessions. This is always on the kitchen island in my house. When there isn't a book inside, you can see right through it, so it doesn't take up visual space. It's built to last and looks fantastic. It works well for both large and small cookbooks, as well as recipes that I print directly from the internet. If printing out recipes isn't convenient, you can use it to protect a phone or tablet. The back piece of acrylic can be adjusted into a variety of slots, allowing you to store a large number of books. I really like the design of this, and I'm glad to have the large size because I used to have a cheap wire holder that frequently collapsed, and my cookbooks were frequently splattered with food. I was apprehensive about spending the money (it was my big Christmas present!). ), but it was a wise investment. This is also a great way to protect my cookbook investment. This cookbook holder is one of my favorites.

I ordered this item twice, and the first time it arrived in pieces with the hinges missing and the screws loose in the box. The item was returned to me. I decided to try this item again after looking for something to replace it with. The screws had stripped out and the hinges were loose once more. Because I couldn't think of anything else, I decided to keep it. To reinforce the holes, my husband needed to purchase larger screws and fill them. The holder now has a safe place to stay. I believe that for the price I paid, the product should not require any repairs in order to be used. We repaired it because I couldn't find anything else, and I kept it.
