There aren't any rubber bumpers. There's a lot of rubbery-looking things there. small strips (total of six small strips) are adhered to each corner and the middle. They appear to be adequate for protecting countertops, and we have had no problems with them loosening or scratching the surface.
I bought the red one, but I believe the coffee gold is more of a bronze color. Neither silver nor nickel are acceptable colors.
In the holder right now, there are two regular-sized cookbooks. With an 11x17, there should be no issues. The cookbook should be able to be held open due to the holder's height, width, and weight, as well as the space where it will be placed.

For our new kitchen, my fiancé and I intend to go with a simple yet modern red and black theme. We use cast iron pans, so I'm looking for red cast iron accessories that look gold. I've been baking a lot (learning), so I've had a lot of cookbooks out in the last few weeks, so I grabbed this one. It's quite heavy, and while it'll obviously never break, I believe you could damage the enamel if you're rough with it. It can hold small or large cookbooks, but there's no way to keep the pages from falling out. As you can see in my photos, the cookbook is attempting to close, but there is no way to keep it closed. In the future, it would be a nice addition. Advantages: br>br>
1. It will last a long timebr>2. The color red is particularly appealing. br>3. I doubt you have any cook books that it can't hold because the book shelf is quite deep. br>br>Cons:
1. If your cookbooks try to close themselves, it's best to get the pages flat. This product would benefit greatly from the addition of tiny metal bars on nicer band stands.
(For a comparison with black, see the photos. ) My main concern when purchasing this item was whether it would contrast with my black iron trivets. If you compare them side by side, you'll notice the difference. However, if this Coffee Gold color was used alone on one area of the counter, you'd never guess it wasn't actually black, especially with a book in it. It's nice and sturdy, and it keeps the paperback sourdough books that won't stay closed on their own closed when not in use, but it holds them open nicely when they are. A bar that runs the length of the front is far more useful than one that only has barriers at the corners or ends.
I had no idea I needed this until I got it, and I'm so glad I did! It has a great design and is nicely weighted. It was a good fit for my books. I chose this over one with hanging page weights because I was concerned that the chain on the weights would irritate me while reading. This is something I'd buy again if I had the opportunity.
This is a heavy metal piece made of cast iron. It will be placed on the counter so that I can read the directions for whatever I am cooking or baking from a Cook Book. That said, because this will be exposed to a lot of water, food acids, and other chemicals, and because it is cast iron, I expect it to eat through the black paint and rust quickly. The company did put a couple of small thin rubber wafers on the bottom, about 1/16th of an inch thick and barely sufficient to protect the bottom and counter top. Have you ever attempted to remove rust from a marble top? So, being resourceful, I devised a suitable item for the Book Stand to rest on in my workshop. In addition, I included a couple of useful features. So, if you have a Stone Countertop, keep this in mind.
Rugged enough to stand the test of time while remaining elegant enough for a formal setting.
Heavy-duty cookbook stand that can hold even my heaviest books! This purchase has been on my mind for over a year, and I'm glad I finally made the decision. I went with the "coffee gold," which is a soft black. I would strongly suggest it.
The product photos depict a neat, clean-lined product. In reality, it appears to be melted metal or a drippy, pocked finish created by someone getting a little too messy with spray paint. I'm coming back.
This is a heaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa To avoid scratching sensitive surfaces, it has a padded bottom. It looks fantastic!.
