It can accommodate my massive Cooks Illustrated cookbook, which is at least 3 inches thick. It appeals to me.
The part that keeps it upright can collapse thanks to a chain on the back. Because the front lip that holds the book in place does not collapse, the item never becomes completely flat.
This is a fantastic cookbook stand that I've had for a few years and it still looks brand new. Metal is what it is. I'm not sure which type it is. However, because it works with magnets, I've attached a kitchen timer to it because my stainless steel refrigerator does not. It can hold a variety of cookbooks of various sizes. Buy it! It'll be fantastic for you.

It's most definitely not the color in the image. It's labeled "aqua," but that's just a catch-all term for green blue or blue green. I hoped it was the picture's color. It stands almost upright, as if it were a photograph of the stand from the side. It takes up a lot of room, but it's big enough to hold my 1000-page cookbook. br>br>I bought it to store my college books as well.
In person, it is even more lovely. It's very sturdy and aids in keeping the pages of my cookbooks open. It has a chain on the left and right sides with a weighted ball that you can place on top of the pages of your book that you want to keep open. This cookbook stand comes in the exact color shown here, and it's a great buy. It would make a wonderful birthday or housewarming present for someone!.
Twenty years ago, I gave my parents a cookbook holder, which eventually broke to the point where it could only stand if perfectly balanced, but they insisted on keeping it on the counter because they loved it so much. I bought this to replace the one that had broken, and they seem to like it just as much as the previous one. It looks fantastic in their home and serves as a sturdy and reliable cookbook holder. (At first, I was concerned that it would be too light for my mother's favorite cookbook, but it is surprisingly sturdy!).

Despite being in close proximity to my sink and being constantly splashed, it still looks brand new. It holds cook books and printed recipes well, though the weighted balls are rarely needed because of the angle it rests at.
This cookbook holder was purchased for our wedding guest book and will be used in our kitchen in the future. It's a lovely color that stands up to some of our heaviest cookbooks. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a rustic, elegant cookbook holder.
