Since it arrived, this hasn't left my counter. It appears to be something from one of those photo advertisements for a designer kitchen spread. It is, however, extremely durable and functional. It can easily hold both cookbooks and tablets. br> My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the weighted chains could be a little heavier. With tightly bound soft cover cookbooks, the current ones have a bit of a problem.
I've gone through a lot of recipe holders, and this one is the most durable. It's thick, and it holds my very thick recipe books, as you can see. I've paired cook books with a stand and a chef who holds salt and pepper shakers as a gift for any occasion, especially bridal showers. Definitely thick, long-lasting, and suitable as a gift. This recipe display is one of my favorites.
All I need to keep my cookbooks open and clean while I cook dinner is this. With the little weights that drape above the pages to keep the pages flat, it keeps both paperback and hardcover books open. Spiral- Cookbooks that aren't bound aren't needed any longer. Without the ball weights, I tried putting a hardcover book with a 2 1/2 inch spine in it, and it stayed open fine. Years ago, I bought an acrylic version of this stand, but it was difficult to slide books into it, it couldn't be angled the way I wanted it, it grew cloudy and unattractive after a few wipes, and it was difficult to store while being too much of an eyesore to leave out. This one is decorative and can be left on the counter; the hinges can be adjusted to your preferred angle, and the legs can be folded in for easier storage. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and strongly recommend it, particularly because of the low cost and the fact that it will not end up in a landfill. It is manufactured in China, in response to a question from the community.
This item is ideal for holding my large cookbooks. It has a nice weight to it, neither too heavy nor too light, and the pages are held open by double chains. It's attractive, so I keep it open on my counter.
It has a nice design and holds cookbooks well. It won't work on a super thick cookbook, but I believe it will work for the vast majority of them. We've left it out on the counter because it's decorative, but it folds up for easy storage if that's what you want.
This holder is one of my favorites. It's perfect for my TV show Charmed Book of Shadows, which I bought it for. It's very sturdy and attractive, and it sits right next to my beehive fireplace's mantel. It's a nice size, and I believe it can hold a book closed with a depth of up to 3".
