Plastic. The steamer has exceeded my expectations.

I wouldn't recommend this for use in a restaurant because it isn't designed for long-term use and would necessitate quick consumption. If you leave the buns in for too long (more than 45 minutes), they will become soggy.

I'm a big fan of the steamer for hotdogs

The Starfrit Hotdog Machine is fantastic; it steams the weiners in about 7 minutes and they're delicious. Place the buns on top of the weiners a few minutes before they're done, and they'll be perfectly warm. Vegetables and fish can also be stesmed and turned out beautifully. It's simple to keep clean and store. On weekends and for family gatherings, we make extensive use of it.

It does the job, but it's a little clumsy

It's a little flimsy, and the sections don't lock together; instead, they just stack on top of each other. An enthusiastic youngster can easily knock it over. Cooks well, but keep it away from potentially dangerous situations and uneven surfaces.

They're as good as, if not better than, the restaurant's. Storage and cleaning are both simple. If you like hotdogs, vegetables, or fish, I highly recommend it.

The Grandkids will love it

It is extremely simple to operate. For the grandkids, it makes fantastic hot dogs. It also steams vegetables. My wife claims that cleaning all parts after each use takes a little time, but she enjoys it otherwise.

Design flaws

It didn't come with a strap for men to carry it on their backs. Furthermore, the pieces do not clip together, making lifting difficult as the pieces separate, and the hot dog bread becomes soggy as a result of the steam.
