It was described as vintage mauve, but the insert was cream in color, indicating that it was mixed in with another set. My son received this as a gift because he grew up with mine and missed it. It works fine, but I'm not happy with the fact that it was essentially misrepresented.
Tupperware is costly, but it is well worth the investment. This item is extremely durable and will last a lifetime. This steamer is exactly what I needed for cooking vegetables, fish, and other foods. Food tastes a lot better now. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
A steamer was already in my possession. I use it to reheat meats, and they come out just as fresh as the day they were cooked. My son needed one as he was about to start college. So we paid a little more than I had hoped, but it will be worth it in the end.
I'm glad I came across these.
