Yes, it is necessary to clean the heating element area on a regular basis. Scale can form on the heating element depending on the mineral content of your local water. I simply pour white vinegar into the tray and heat it for a few minutes. br>br>You can use any type of water you'd use to cook with, but you can also flavor the steaming water with lemon juice, soluble herbs, and other seasonings. Just make sure you don't put anything on the heating element that will burn or leave residue.
They might be able to, but they'll almost certainly leak. The smaller base of one of the baskets fits INSIDE the drip pan. The other two baskets have wider bases and sit outside the drip pan's top rim, potentially allowing condensation to escape. To avoid leaking, it should always have one basket on the bottom.

In November of 2016, I purchased this product. Since then, I've been using it once or twice a week. It comes in handy for steaming potatoes for mashed potatoes, as well as fish and vegetables. While steamed potatoes and vegetables may seem mundane, I believe the taste of beautiful steamed fish is a true delight. I've had no trouble steaming multiple foods at once, and I consider this product to be an indispensable part of my kitchen. Five out of five stars.

I read some reviews that said it leaked all over the counter, but based on what I've seen, you should be aware that if you stack the trays backwards, it will leak. The manufacturer, I believe, attempted to solve the problem by numbering the trays. This is the fastest steamer I've ever seen, but you have to be careful reaching over it. Keep an eye out for escaping steam because this thing isn't a joke. You're going to get burned, and you're going to get burned fast. This steamer has exceeded my expectations.
I bought this to replace my old Oster steamer, and I'm very pleased with it. In comparison to my old Oster, this one is much lighter, and the base is much smaller, so it takes up less counter space. The baskets hold just as much as the old ones did, and it comes with an extra basket so I can steam a lot more food at once. The baskets all nest inside each other for easy storage, including the rice basket, and the lid fits over all of them, which is really nice. One feature I like is that the drip tray has handles so you can remove it for cleaning while it's still hot without burning your fingers. Furthermore, the drip tray is much deeper than the one in my old Oster, ensuring that the drip water stays in the drip tray and does not overflow into the bottom part of the steamer water tray, keeping the steamer water tray clean. It only takes a minute or two for the water to heat up and start steaming - Someone had leaked a review, and I saw it. Mine, on the other hand, hasn't leaked in the least! I'm just overjoyed with this steamer and glad I took the plunge and upgraded. br>br>November 2019 Update: This steamer is still alive and well! It's still going strong, and it's the most well-designed steamer I've ever used. I needed to add more water to mine while steaming some rutabaga, and I noticed that both drip tray handles are also spouts where you can easily add more water. The best appliance purchase I've ever made.
I was very excited about this because I had only recently begun steam cooking, which is both healthier and easier to clean. Overall, I can't say I'm disappointed. So far, I'm really enjoying it. Cooking and cleaning are both simple tasks. I'm also a big fan of the timer. It's a pleasure to eat here! br>br>However, one major disadvantage is that this cooker is easily stained due to the materials it is made of. I marinate a lot of my food and use a lot of spicy sauces and other things. The tray is stained after only one cook. I know I can put it in a foil bag, but I'd prefer the juice to fall to the bottom of the bag and onto my vegetables. Because it's plastic, this is to be expected, but it's still a very noticeable flaw. br>br>However, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend if you want to cook steamed food quickly and in larger quantities.
I'm so disappointed because I adored this steamer; it made meal prep so much easier and was free of BPAs! After a month and a half of use three times a week, it stopped working completely! It won't turn on, and the steamer's ink lettering has been wiped away. Even though it was a bummer, it was fun while it lasted!.
There are no issues. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. There are no issues. It's big enough for my needs, easy to understand and operate, and it keeps things warm for a long time; the only drawback is that the timer is a little old-fashioned. Because the timer is analog (rather than digital), it will continue to tick even after your steaming time has ended until it reaches the very top of the dial (which is a small clock icon). When the knob reaches zero and the clock icon to the left of it, the steaming is officially finished. Aside from that, this steamer is very nice.
It appeals to me greatly. This fish is delicious. Cooking with it takes some time, but the flavor is well worth the effort. The only complaint I have is that I wish the drip tray would allow some of the water to be recycled. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Because I discovered a major flaw, I reduced my review rating. Water washes away the numbers and lines surrounding the timer. It appears that the ink or whatever they're using isn't waterproof, as you can wipe it off with your finger. If it weren't for this major flaw, Steamer would be fantastic.
This allows you to steam a lot. I meal prep, so this was ideal; I can fit a week's worth of groceries in here and be done. I looked at a few others before settling on this one, primarily because it is BPA-free. Because the top pieces nest into each other, it takes up very little space in my cabinets. I read some reviews where people complained about how sloppily they fit together, but I didn't have that problem. The containers are labeled with numbers and must be placed in the correct order. If you're only steaming a few things, you can use just 1 or 2 containers.
