It takes approximately 20 minutes to prepare hot dogs. a few fewer buns, perhaps 7- 10 min. It quickly steams!
I didn't steam them in the warming tray, but I did move them there after steaming to make room for the next batch. It keeps them warm and allows for steaming of the next batch.
As Josh mentioned, a battery-powered inverter could be used to power that device, which is a simple resistance-heated steamer. With an inverter, I usually use a large lithium battery and an inverter. For example, I built 2000-watt batteries and have a pure sine wave inverter, so I could easily keep the steamer running for well over three hours, and I use a battery and inverter to keep the slow cooker hot when I go to potluck dinners. It's 2018, and lithium batteries, size 18650s, are 10 watts each, with 300 of them fitting easily into a project box that serves as a portable power source.
As stated in the instructions - Clean the steamer parts with water and mild dish soap. The compartments should be thoroughly rinsed and dried. Use a damp cloth and soapy water to clean the inside of the steamer, then rinse and dry. REMOVE THE STEAMER UNIT FROM THE WATER IMMEDIATELY. Cleaning up is a breeze.

Others are correct in predicting that the buns will become wet in the top steamer - even after inserting a paper towel and waiting the final few minutes We won't put bread in it again, most likely. br>br>However, this steamer can do a lot more than just make hot dogs. While the broccoli was cooking in the top basket, the sausage was cooking in the bottom drawer. This week, I steamed whole eggs in the top basket twice, and they came out far better than any I've ever boiled. br>br>I'm looking forward to trying out a lot of new recipes on this!.
After a pub crawl, we busted it out for 2 a. m. dogs. First and foremost, we used beer as the liquid. The buns took about half as long as the dogs to prepare. When you remove the lid, keep an eye on the condensation on the lid to avoid spilling water on the buns. Place them on the top of the stove to melt the cheese. RV camping is a part of a 5-day event. This steamer is fantastic! Every morning, I set it up in the outdoor kitchen and load it up with two packs of hot dogs. After that, I simply leave. When we run out of hotdogs, people let me know, and I go out and get more! The enclosed design prevents flies from getting to your hotdogs, which is a huge advantage over the roller style hotdog cooker. br>br>A couple of things to keep in mind:
- The hotdogs will burst in minutes if you turn it up to high. The hotdogs will be perfectly warmed in about 20 minutes if you choose the "warm" option. Time: 25 minutes
- If you leave your buns in the steamer long enough, they will become soggy. This section is never used by us. Unwarmed buns are preferable to soggy buns. br>br>Reasons for not giving it five stars:
1 - Plastic does not come to mind when I think of nostalgic items. When it arrived, I was extremely dissatisfied with the plastic - However, it performs admirably, and if it were made of metal, it would likely become hot, which would be a disadvantage. br>2 - Buns become soggy as a result of using a bun warmer. br>br>I've been using it for about a month and would definitely purchase it again.
It works great, is easy to clean, and does exactly what it says it will. It took anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to cook a hotdog. I only put in 5 minutes to test it, but it took 20 minutes. Place the buns in the oven for about a minute or two; They quickly steamed! br>And now for a word of warning: br>This unit is very appealing to children. On several occasions, I had to hold my grandkids back because it looked like something out of a toy kitchen! The steam is real, and if it comes into contact with a small child, it can burn them. br>I'm using this for pool parties so that people can get a hotdog whenever they want instead of having to fire up the big grill and rewarm or cook more throughout the day! It's very handy!.
This is a great product; I run a Cigar Lounge on weekends and bought it to serve hot dogs to customers at football games. It takes about 15 minutes to steam them and does an excellent job. I've been using it every weekend for the entire season and have had no issues. I would strongly suggest it.
We used it for the first time yesterday and it worked perfectly; however, as another reviewer stated, the buns should not be put in at the same time as the dogs. I cooked the dogs for 20 minutes and the buns for only 5 minutes, and they were both perfectly warm when they were done. This is a fantastic little machine that we intend to use for purposes other than hot dogs. It was a big hit with the whole family. You will not be disappointed if you are able to obtain one. I'm not sure what happened with the others who got dirty machines; the only thing I can think of is that they purchased them used, whereas ours was brand new and has performed admirably thus far. We'll see how this goes over time, but for now, we're all set. Have fun.
It was a hit with everyone! This was a last-minute purchase for a Christmas party I hosted last night. It was my first time, but it went so smoothly. In the bottom, I put a can of beer, in the middle, some jumbo-sized hot dogs, and on top, a small aluminum pan of chili and sauerkraut. After that, I put together a small side tray with ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, and shredded cheese. What an enormous success! The hot dogs stayed warm throughout the night, and people were able to grab one whenever they wanted. The party was a huge success, and I also served a charcuterie platter and a shrimp cocktail platter. This small hot dog machine takes up very little space and is certainly a talking point. Love it! I would strongly suggest it!.
