No, it won't work on some induction cooktops. The pot is not detected by the sensor on my stove. The magnets are harmed by the aluminum coating.
The burner's base is 5 3/8 inches wide. 6 3/8 inches is the full size. I hope this information is useful.
It isn't a steamer, as I agree. The pot, on the other hand, is one of my favorites. It's what I use to make pasta with.
HOW CAN THE INSIDE OF THE POT BE 9X9X9 WHEN THE DIMENSIONS LISTED ARE 9X9X9? EVEN THE OUTSIDE CAN BE USED - BE ONLY 5 1/2" IN LENGTH AND 8 INCHES IN DEPTH WITH THE TOP?

Today was my first use of this pot. I cut the asparagus to about 7 1/2 inches in length so that it would fit in the pot with the lid on. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then add the asparagus basket to the pot and set the timer for 20 minutes. This was my first time cooking asparagus; the stalks were all small in diameter, but they were still a little tough, so I cooked them for 10 minutes. I'm no asparagus expert, but that appears to be as tender as they come. I'm going to try cooking without the lid next time to see what happens, and cook for about 12 minutes. Instead of 10, you'll have 13 minutes. br>This pot's and basket's measurements are as follows: br>The pot is 8 inches deep from top to bottom, but the usable depth with the lid on is 7. 5 inches. The lid dips down to catch the pot and prevent it from sliding off, as you can see. br>Dimensions of the pot are 5 inches. 5 inches. For myself, I cooked a half pound of asparagus; for two adults, 1 pound or slightly less would be sufficient. Even in this small diameter pot, the asparagus sagged, so if I bought a larger pot, the asparagus would cook on the bottom. br>An aluminum plate is welded to the bottom of the stainless steel pot, giving it a thickness of about 1/4 inch. The basket and lid are both made of very sturdy materials. Some people suggested that the lid be made of glass so that you can see what's inside, but I don't see why; it's not difficult to lift the lid to see what's inside, and the metal lid won't break. br>The number of items in the basket is six. 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide. 75 mm in diameter With two cups of water, the basket sits 7/16ths off the pot bottom, so the food is mostly in steam and barely in the water. The handles stick out unusually far, which is likely for heat dissipation, according to one comment. When taking the pot off the stove, the handles were not too hot to touch. The basket design played a significant role in the selection of this pot. This pot coordinates with the rest of my Cuisinart cookware. This is a pot that I would repurchase. There is no reason for me to pay any more money.
The majority of the time, it's used to prepare asparagus. That was a surprise to me! When it comes to cookware, I can be a little rusty at times. Honestly, I'm a newbie when it comes to cooking. I made a mistake when I bought this lovely steamer. I had no idea it was primarily used to steam asparagus. It should've been obvious from the shape. br>br>The idea is that a typical bunch of trimmed asparagus spears will stand in the basket without being submerged in boiling water (about an inch deep and safely below the basket's lowest extent), and it works flawlessly. You should only use the steam instead of immersing the food in the boiling water. However, it can be used for a variety of other vegetables that I enjoy: br>br> Beets, carrots, and Brussels sprouts, as well as a variety of other vegetables depending on their shape and mass, steam beautifully in this item. br>br>We should all be aware that some steaming tasks are incompatible with this item. It can't be used to steam pasta because its shape isn't right. A wider opening is required. br>br>Cuisinart's quality is unmistakable-- On the outside, it has a lovely mirrored stainless steel finish, and on the inside, it has a fine brushed stainless steel finish. The basket that holds the food is also of good quality. There was no significant corrosion, though it is a galvanized wire, so I wouldn't expect it to be perfect in use. The following are the heating layers in the base: Heating is quick and even. Because the lid is not made of glass, you must visually inspect the contents by removing the stainless lid. I use a timer and, more importantly, my nose, to ensure that the food is cooked to perfection. br>br>I really like the handles. To dissipate heat and keep things cool, go for something big and thick. br>br>Overall, the steamer is fantastic. Cuisinart has always performed admirably for me at a reasonable price, particularly on Amazon. Each piece is made to last a lifetime and is not overly expensive.
I have never used a better asparagus cooker! In four minutes, the asparagus is cooked to perfection. The base, which is encased in aluminum, heats up quickly and evenly. The instructions state that you should not heat the water to boiling on the high setting on your stove. My electric stove's 8 setting is adequate. The interior and exterior are both made of stainless steel, which makes cleaning a breeze. The tightly woven steaming basket is also one of my favorites. Very good quality!.
If you're going to use it for spaghetti noodles or asparagus, the pan's height should be a little higher; however, my main concern was that the pan's inside bottom rusted after just one use. I didn't think stainless steel rusted, so this is strange.
This can be used in any situation. Asparagus, corn, hard-boiled eggs, and whole carrots are just a few of the vegetables that can be steamed. It ought to be indestructible!.
This pot is extremely well-made. I use it for a variety of vegetables and prefer the mesh insert over the traditional cage. Small vegetables are well held by the mesh, which means fewer floaters. Because it is tall and narrow, it takes up little space on the stovetop while cooking and has enough volume to hold a wide variety of vegetables. My only criticism is that the handles are extremely large, almost doubling the pot's diameter. As a result, it takes up a lot of storage space.
Nice pot. It is well constructed, and it would have received a higher rating if it did not state that it was induction compatible. br>Just to be sure, I tested it on a couple of people's induction stoves. It only works with induction in the best of circumstances. In the worst-case scenario, it is completely ineffective. br>A strong magnet was used to test the product. The bottom of the pot was barely holding on. The aluminum coating appears to be preventing magnets from interacting with the stainless steel. br> Because induction relies on magnets, this means the pot isn't induction compatible, rendering it useless unless I want to invest in a new stove.
The inner pot of most asparagus steamers is enclosed in a cage. Things (especially asparagus, as it turns out) get stuck in them all the time. Instead of "bars," this has a mesh. It's an excellent solution. This is my favorite pot!.
