Questions & Answers

"Sear" mode is described in the Griddler 6S description. What is the best way to sear something?

When it flashes, hit the check Mark, then both or either burners, then the check Mark again, and then hit the up arrow until it says'sear' and then hit the check Mark again to begin the preheating. When the unit is preheated, a buzzer will sound. I hope this has been of assistance.

How do I only turn on the lower plate?

It's a mystery to me as well. The instructions that came with this item were a disaster!

Is it made of stainless steel or is it made of a different material?

Yes, stainless steel is used on the outside.

GRIDDLER WITH SMOKELESS MODE (CUISINART GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR-GR THIS GRIDDLER SUITS ME EXTREMELY WELL
5/5

I'VE USED IT TO MAKE SANDWICHES AND STEAK AND IT WORKS GREAT. I HAD SOME SMOKE EVEN THOUGH I USED THE 'SMOKELESS' MENU, BUT IT WAS NOT AT ALL BAD. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS FIGURING OUT HOW TO OPERATE THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PANEL, ETC. ALL WAS WELL ONCE I HAD THAT UNDER CONTROL. VERY EASY TO CLEAN AND NOT AN EXTREMELY LARGE APPLIANCE. I LEAVE IT OUT ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER ALL THE TIME. TOP. PERFECT FOR A WARM SANDWICH, EVEN MORE SO IN THE WINTER. I REALLY HOPE THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN OF USE TO YOU.

"Smoke- The wording "less" is a little tricky, but it's still a hot product
5/5

The first thing I noticed was that it said "Smoke-Free. " Rather than "smokeless," use "less. " There's a big difference between the two characters. "Smrt move, mate, got yo-" I said. "I'm a knockoff of myself. " But, thankfully, it only took away the time and effort required to grill. br>br>It does get smoke, but not nearly as much as Oliver Queen. I'd say the special mode produces "less" smoke. Except for venison, it almost tipped off a red-suited hunk on the other side of the country, and I was afraid I'd given Bambi PTSD. br>br>The one strange thing about smoke-free is that it makes you feel better. The temperature is automatically set in the less mode. It works great for an uncivilized plebe like me, but if you want to pretend that a single degree makes a difference, this mode might not be for you. Now is not the time for me to grill some chicken. You select a meat rather than a temperature. I know there's beef, pork, and chicken (all of which sound delicious), but I believe there are five choices? Perhaps fish or something similar, which sounds like something someone might grill at some point; so far, the presets have worked well and cooked quickly. br>br>As for the X-ray, 1 (or was it 5, again?) settings ) I believe I've used all of them. A real gem is the double clamshell grill. The griddle has a 50-degree temperature setting. The bottom side always works, but I feel like I need to Hulk the top side to get it to lay flat. And there's still a slant to it. br>br>I keep forgetting about panini bread, so I haven't tried making fancy unburned grilled cheese yet, but I'm sure it'll be fine. There's also the half-way house. and-a-half or whatever you want to call it? I never thought I'd use it, but I cooked eggs and sausage on a grill and griddle at different temperatures at the same time, and it was simple-- peasy- jungle- breezy. br>br>So, this is probably what you're all interested in; Is it serendipitous, or does it do a dreadful job? It does, in my opinion, quite well. I've cooked steak on it a few times now, and it still gets that weird half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half-cooked half- Because it's an electric grill, it's a zombie color, but I believe it's a rare feat for a grill to heat up Medium quickly and do the job. Congratulations on a job well done, less- smokey! br>br>So far, cleaning has been simple. There is currently no coating on the food. At the very least, there are no discernible superpowers, and honey still sticks to me, so I'm guessing everything is fine. Because This Old House lacks a dishwasher, I've had to clean them by hand. Yeah. The plates are removable, and the manufacturer claims that they are dishwasher safe, so fingers crossed. br>br>At this point, there are a few strange settings to get used to. When it's deciding on a cooking mode and which plates to use, it cycles through the settings automatically. I was slamming that button, thinking to myself, "This button is less responsive than a street crossing signal," and then realized after a few weeks of mindless pressing that the settings had changed on their own. Whoa. Why don't you just let me do it faster? br>br>However, when in Normal mode, the buttons are responsive. If you weren't paying attention before, the temperature rises in 25-degree increments, and each half can be set separately if you weren't paying attention before. There have been no complaints about the cooking. It also happens to be QUICK. When a half-pound burger is heated up, it takes about 5 minutes. The first time I made it, I completely burned the beef out. It took over 20 minutes to cook this star grill, which it replaced. Despite this, I ate it. br>br>Also, the drip tray is a little strange; it's still a mystery to me how it gets down there, given that it's in the middle on one side, but SOMETHING IS GETTING IN THERE, and it's not something I'm about to mix in with my evening cocktail. br>br>But, despite the oddities, I think this is the best grill I've ever had. It is unquestionably superior to the product it has replaced. Give it a shot; perhaps if enough people buy it, a doughnut attachment will be included. I could also live with a meat doughnut attachment.

Contact Grill of Excellent Quality
5/5

This contact grill has so far left a lasting impression on me. I've used it on steak, hamburgers, and salmon, among other things. Everything came together beautifully. The grill plates are easily removed, and I particularly like that the grooves aren't too deep (which can make cleaning difficult). At first, I didn't find the controls to be particularly intuitive, but a thorough reading of the manual clarified the options. The drip tray is well-made and does a good job of keeping juices and drippings contained. I think the grill should have come with waffle plates for the price, but the reversible plates themselves give you a lot of options.

It's a good deal to replace the original Griddler
4/5

My original Griddler had gone through two sets of grilling plates (the first of which had warped after a few years and the second of which had lost its non-stick properties). Sticks wear out quickly, most likely as a result of being cleaned in the dishwasher (despite the fact that they were advertised as dishwasher safe) - Nothing is more annoying than a bisonburger with an onion topping that sticks to the top plate and breaks into two messy pieces! Although the new Griddler is simple to use, the Instruction Booklet is a disaster! I was under the impression that I needed to press the'select' button to advance the options displayed on the LED screen before pressing the Confirm (check mark) button. I was pretty much home free once I figured out the logic and combined it with my years of experience with the original Griddler. My only gripe is that neither of the two instruction booklets (old or new) explains what degree of temperature the various settings refer to (what exactly IS Sear - 400? 425? 375? ) As a result, I experimented until I found a happy medium - That, however, must not be the case. The customer SHOULD be able to rely on the manufacturer to provide all necessary information for successful use of the appliance from the start. The only reason I gave this machine four stars instead of five is because of the lack of instructions.

Small in size Arrived in the manufacturer's box, which was not well-protected
3/5

The instructions are lengthy and ambiguous. When the upper burner is closed, there is no way to adjust the height so that it does not rest heavily on the food below. It's been flattened, so you're out of luck unless you want everything panini-style. The controls are clumsy, and you have to double-check everything or you'll have to start over with the settings. Because it's so small, cooking for more than one person necessitates a trip to the grocery store. To finish a meal, load it onto a warming plate. Don't waste your money on this one. Get the Premier version, which is larger and has better grill covers and adjustable height.

Griddler is a fantastic little game
4/5

The Cuisinart GR-100 is a multi-functional kitchen appliance. The 6S Griddler is a simple to use tool that performs admirably. A few things to keep in mind: there are no instructions at this time, so you'll have to learn how to use the griddler by trial and error. I'd say about five. It took me about ten minutes to figure out what was going on. br>br>I've also noticed that it starts to smoke a little at 400 degrees. I'm a first-time buyer of this type of product, and I'm pleased with the results.

Cleaning is a breeze
5/5

I've had this product for about a month and am very pleased with it. I'm getting ready to make steaks for dinner tonight. I'm really looking forward to this because I haven't had a steak since COVID began. It doesn't smoke nearly as much as you might think. It heats up evenly. It's incredibly simple to clean and versatile, and my foodi and I both adore it.
