Questions & Answers

What makes this one stand out from the less expensive alternative?

The Griddler Elite has a digital temperature display for each plate, top and bottom, which sets it apart from the Griddler Deluxe. A digital temperature display is not available on the Griddler Deluxe. Instead, the knobs are marked with temperature indicators and a light that indicates when the plate has reached the desired temperature. Aside from that, they're both the same. It's just a matter of deciding whether or not the digital display is worth the extra $40.

Is this going to squish dry hamburgers and steaks?

Not in the least. The distance between the two sides can be easily adjusted thanks to an adjustable leg. It's not going to squish. We like it a lot. Steaks are a fantastic choice.

Is it possible to get waffle plates for this machine?

This device (GR-) Waffle plates are available in room 150. The Elite digital, on the other hand, doesn't.

Selected User Reviews For Cuisinart GR-150P1 GR-150 Griddler Deluxe, Brushed Stainless

This product is great, but the warranty and customer service are terrible
3/5

while it is in operation It was only a year and a half that I had it. When I use the cord/plug, it now gets extremely hot, and I'm afraid to use it. I tested the outlet with other electric appliances, so I know it's not the outlet. Also, the drip pan (on the back of the unit) appears to have melted, so I can't remove it to clean it. An extended warranty was purchased by me. I got in touch with them. They said it appears it's still covered by Cuinsart's warranty, and I tried to contact them for a week (I don't have all day to wait on hold). The bottom line. I would have to pay $10 for a new unit to be shipped to me, as well as the cost of returning the defective unit. Nothing like this has ever occurred to me. I'm not going to buy another Cuisinart product ever again.

It took ten months to complete! Beware! It will cost you money to get a resolution through Cuisinart! The product itself is excellent, but the grill suddenly stopped working while we were making pancakes after only 10 months (and perhaps 15 uses)
3/5

We contacted Cuisinart Customer Service, and they requested that we pay $10 to have a new unit shipped to us (that I could handle), and then send them the faulty unit at OUR EXPENSE! It ended up costing $49 to complete the project. 71! As a result, the grill that we originally paid $116 for has now increased in price by $60! I'll never buy another Cuisinart product because it lasted less than a year and we had to pay more than half of the original price to get it to work.

I'm not impressed any longer! GR- Griddler - 150 Griddler This griddler made us very happy at first
3/5

It was prepared, (2) - In less than 5 minutes, you can have medium rare rib eye steaks that are 1" thick. Cleaning it was also a breeze. The only drawback was that the handle took up a lot of room. br>Last Updated: 3/26/19 - Cuisinart was supposed to be the best in the business. But, before this Cuisinart GR-200, there was the Cuisinart GR-200. After 30 days, the top plate began to heat up twice as slowly. The top plate then stopped heating up to the same temperature as the lower plate after a few more days. I'm glad this Cuisinart GR-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX In the 30-day return period, 150 people failed.

If it weren't for the fact that it's a POS, this would be a nice griddler
3/5

If it weren't for the fact that it's a POS, this would be a nice griddler. It has a nice design and a lot of useful features, but it suddenly stops working. The replacement I received has also died, and all I use it for now is to toast bread and make sandwiches. I'm not even going to try the searing option. This is a snoozer.

Is this for real? The appliance had been used previously and was delivered to me in a state of disarray! When I took this appliance out of the box, it was covered in stale grease and crumbs from the previous owner! I can't express how disgusted I am at paying full price for an appliance only to have to clean it in order to test it
3/5

Because of the grease from the previous user, the Styrofoam inside the bag with the appliance was greasy, and I would not have been able to return it. br>br>I'm furious at the double-standard. cross. So, whether Amazon or Cuisinart improves, something must improve, and it must do so soon!.

Warranties are nearly worthless
3/5

When compared to the GR- The Griddler 150 is significantly more expensive than the smaller Griddler, and the additional features add little value. Worst of all, the "two-pronged" approach is ineffective. It's almost pointless to have a "one-year warranty. " After a year and a half, my Griddler passed away. Cuisinart demanded that I pay $49 to ship them the broken Griddler and an additional $10 to have a refurbished Griddler shipped to me. I received 150 in return. They sent me a replacement that was broken (it was missing a temperature dial - so much for their refurbishing), so they sent me a replacement (this one appears to be brand new), but they demanded an additional $10 for shipping. Needless to say, I'm not going to pay for it.

The model and functions are fantastic
5/5

Commercial grade, well-made, and attractive design. Searing at 1500 watts! Excellent griddler for the grill. I had the smaller Cuisinart that had a different temperature for the top and bottom cooking grids, but only one temperature control for both. This Deluxe model has been installed in its place. As others have stated, it appears to be of high quality. The following are some of the functions that I value: Separate temperature controls for the top and bottom of the floating lid, which can be adjusted in six different positions. The temperature ranges from 200°F to 450°F in the High 500°F Sear mode. Higher watts made a significant difference in this model, and temperatures have remained consistent with both controls set to the same temperature so far. When storing, the lid of the larger model locks shut, whereas the lid of the smaller model does not. Even for two people, a larger cooking area would be beneficial. With large sourdough bread, I can now make full-sized sandwiches. Drip tray has been improved and runs the length of the griddle's backside. Grease flows to the back and into the drip tray when the lid is open. Grids also have angles on the back to direct liquid flow into a drip tray channel. Other models don't have that angle in the grids, and some people have complained about grease dripping off the back of the grids onto the counter. I also like the fact that I can preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for cooking. Then press the top, bottom, or both sear buttons at the same time. The red light stays on until the temperature reaches 500°F, then flashes green for 10 seconds (time to put the meat on), then sears for 2 minutes before shutting off the sear temperature. After that, it goes back to the original cooking temperature that was set. The GN4N is a smaller model with a much better design and function. Pay the extra money for this model if you plan to use it a lot to cook, grill, and make great sandwiches. They also make the Elite, which is more expensive and comes with an LCD panel that performs the same functions as this model. This model has exceeded my expectations, and I am excited to use it for tomorrow's steak dinner. UPDATED! br>br> I put my new GR-SLR camera to good use. It took 150 minutes to cook 150 burgers, and last night's New York Steaks were delicious. I'm a meat snob, and this little gem doesn't cook out the flavor like some indoor cookers do. Today I bought a second one as a surprise gift for my daughter and son-in-law. law. They have an old Cuisinart that simply plugs in and cooks at one temperature with no reversible plates. They didn't include a message on the gift card, so they'll have to call each member of their large family one by one to see who they should thank! Of course, I am the only one who is aware of the situation; even my wife will remain unaware. When she sees that they got the same one as me, she'll eventually put two and two together. Last but not least, separate temperature controls are the way to go, and when set to the same temperature, my model heats evenly from top to bottom. Last but not least, because the top is stainless steel, I'll give you one last piece of advice. When you remove the long sticker from the top, an imprint of the sticker's location will remain. You won't feel any glue, but you'll notice a square where it used to be. It took a long time for me to get rid of it! I did the same thing with my stainless bbq hood. Using a paper towel or a soft rag, apply a small amount of Goop Off Liquid. Lightly rub with stainless steel grain. Finally, dry wipe along the grain with a clean, lint-free rag. The obvious square will vanish at the end of the game. If you clean the top and get water spots or other issues, a final rub with a little goop will get rid of everything. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I used a griddler to cook the steaks, and they turned out perfectly (I used a meat thermometer). However, there is some splatter on the sides as a result of the gap between the plates. Removed the bottom plates and wrapped aluminum foil around the edges and down the sides before replacing the grill plate. Additionally, I draped aluminum along the front because the previous steak had grease splatter on the controls. As you can see in the photo, the foil trick worked! There's no need to clean the grease off the griddler! Today was also the first time we made a McMuffin. First, we poached eggs on the smooth plate side of the griddle with a pancake ring, then we built our English muffin with poached egg, Canadian bacon, and sliced medium cheddar. Grill plates were preheated to 400 degrees and closed. Sandwiches should be placed on the griddle plate when the green light comes on. Then, to make contact with the top bun, I floated the adjustable lid. I didn't put anything on the inside or outside of the bun. Cook at 400°F for 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted completely. Then turn off the stove and leave it for another 2 minutes with the lid closed. Removed and served a delicious McD's-style breakfast that was simple and tasty, not dry, and buns that were lightly crisp but not browned like when using oil on the top and bottom. My wife enjoyed hers, and I topped it with a small amount of black raspberry all fruit, which was delicious! Check out the images. I bought two more of these for our small family and children. The more I use it, the better it gets! In comparison to a smaller unit with fewer features, the extra money is well worth it. When I cook meat on the grill, I use a meat thermometer. It eliminates the guesswork in determining when something is finished! My steak is medium rare for me, and medium well for my wife. When using the same grill in the closed position, there is a problem. The issue has been resolved! I'm a big fan of the ThermoPro TC- 10 meat thermometer with meat type presets (or custom temperature programming if desired). I set the griddler to 450 degrees Fahrenheit with the lid closed. I press the two sear buttons, which turn red, after an 8-minute preheating period. After 3- They flash green for four minutes, giving me ten seconds to place the meat on the grill before the light turns solid green (sear) for two minutes. The sear light goes out after 2 minutes, and the top and bottom temp control lights turn green again (they were off during sear mode). I quickly lift the top 1/3 open and push down on the front to unlock the swivel with an oven mitt. Then, with the side height slide adjuster set to the third click, close the lid on the steaks immediately. The third click will work great for most of my closed cooking, with burger patties and steaks up to 1" thick. It may seem like a lot at first, but after a few times, you'll be a pro at it. Finally, insert the wireless temperature probe into the side of the meat through the space between the plates and set it to the desired temperature. Set the temperature to Beef, Medium (for the wife). When the probe is above 50 degrees Fahrenheit on the Thermo Pro, it flashes blue, then green when it is within 10 degrees of the cooked temperature. I quickly remove my steak and close the lid, leaving my wife's steak to finish. When unity is cooked to medium doneness, it will flash red and beep. Hers is now cooked to her liking, while mine isn't overdone. Burgers were cooked in the ThermoPro using ground beef from the menu. I cycled through the blue, green, and red phases. The hamb patties were cooked medium, no pink, juicy, and tasty, so I removed them right away and set them aside for 5 minutes to rest. We're done with greasy meat from the skillet. The TC- is made by ThermoPro as well. 11 has a remote control that is wireless! On the unit's base is a probe that shows the temperature of the meat. The easy menu can be programmed and the temp color screens can be accessed via the wireless remote. Each of these items is in my possession. I make a quick hamburger with the TC- Without the remote, the score is ten. When I'm cooking something more leisurely, I use the wireless remote model so I can keep an eye on things while watching TV. Both models are excellent, and I've found them to be extremely useful when using this griddler to cook meat. It's especially nice not to have to make educated guesses about what temperature to cook at. Simply select the meat type, and the ThermoPro will take care of the rest; there are a few things I learned the hard way that aren't in the book. For example, my other recent Cuisinart, which was less expensive and smaller, had two temperature adjusters but did the same thing. Top and bottom temperatures are the same. This model cooks perfectly at the same temperature, but it can be adjusted! As a result, when cooking from the top to the bottom, both knobs should be set to the same temperature. Have the option of turning off the top or bottom. Alternatively, make one higher and the other lower. The previous model failed to mention that the sear only lasts two minutes before shutting off. When I contacted Mfg, they had no idea what I was talking about and said the product was defective and that I would have to pay $12 to ship and $12 to return for an exchange. This model, it turns out, explains that the sear mode operates for 2 minutes and then shuts off as intended! After all, Other wasn't defective! What makes this model unique is that, unlike most of their other models, the set temperature will turn on for a short period of time before turning off, sometimes for an excessive amount of time, before cycling back on. Between cycles, I've counted up to 12 minutes! As a result, the temperature of the food fluctuates in response to the temperature of the plate. This model DOES NOT CYCLE, which I initially mistook for a defect; however, when I contacted the manufacturer, they informed me that this model is intended to maintain a constant temperature! As a result, on this unit, the green light on the knobs will not turn off, which is PERFECT! Cooking at a constant temperature is the safest and most efficient method! The same thing can be done with a flattop electric stove! Burner heats up, cycles on and off, and is unable to maintain a constant temperature, which is extremely inconvenient. This is something I'm going to use more and more in the kitchen. I hope you like my photos.
