Questions & Answers

What's the difference between a Breville and a de'longhi?

They're just two companies that worked with Nespresso to create their own Pixie versions. When I did my own research to see which one I wanted to buy, I discovered that the deLonghi is the only one with metal parts rather than all plastic. That means it should last longer, wear down more slowly, and so on. That's the only real difference I've noticed. I hope this information is useful.

What's the difference between this model and the one that came out recently?

The older model is heavier, has a thicker, more durable water tank, and is a little louder. The water tank's lid also sits on top of the tank rather than flush with it. In my opinion, the older model is superior to the newer model. My machine, the original Pixie C30, was made by Nespresso, not Breville or any other company; most machines are made in Switzerland, but I've seen a few made in Mexico.

Is this a two-for-one deal? The number two is mentioned. In the description, 7 oz is mentioned, but other machines produce 1 oz. Espresso (35 oz) ?

It results in a score of 1. 35 oz (espresso) shot, plus a 3. Shot of 7 oz (lungo). If we want the second option, we'll have to go with 7, we simply press the espresso button twice; we've had our machine and milk frother since January, and I can honestly say that I don't go to the coffee shop because of it! I'm thinking of stopping on my way home from work and then remembering I have Nespresso! We employ it four times a day. I love it when I can do it six times a day.

Is it possible to use Nespresso pro capsules in this machine?

Home capsules are divided into two categories: line and vertuo are both original. This machine uses the original line; pro capsules are designed for offices, so I doubt they'll work in this or the vertuo lines for obvious reasons.

This new design appealed to me as an improvement
3/5

I was let down. We have an older Nespresso U machine that has been working flawlessly for the past three years. 3 years of daily multi-use (at least 2-years) 3 times per day for each adult in the household). A part of the mechanism that punctures the capsules inside the capsules broke about two months ago. I was fortunate in that I was able to locate a replacement part on Amazon, and we were able to get back up and running. This part has a flaw, and we figured the replacement would eventually fail as well. Now fast forward to today, and it has finally occurred. It appears that our machine has taken its final breath. Returning to Amazon in search of a new Nespresso machine, I chose the Pixie because it seemed to combine a cool, stylish design with the functionality we've come to expect from Nespresso machines. It also fits the footprint of our departing machine, whereas the Citiz is taller and doesn't appear to be a good fit for our space. Free same-day delivery was available, so I figured it would be a win-win situation. br>br>Delivery was excellent. I'm not sure how Amazon does it, but getting same-day delivery is frequently what drives me to make a purchase. In general, I will go to a local store if I can get the same price and have it in my hands the same day. I'll even pay a little more if I can get something closer to home. However, I was pressed for time at work, and local prices were significantly higher, so I chose Amazon. br>br>Now for my dissatisfaction. This machine performs poorly in comparison to our Nespresso U. The Pixie has a problem with leaking. Quite a bit, in fact. Much, much more than the United States of America. When using an espresso cup, the attached drip tray has a lip/protruding part underneath (hopefully visible in the photos) that supports the tray. This would be fine except that the extra width of that part (about half an inch) prevents larger cups/mugs from being completely flush against the machine when the tray is raised to use larger/taller cups (for lungo pour). Ours has a spout that appears to direct the liquid back toward the machine - Because of this, as well as the support for the drip tray, I have to hold my mug and tilt it toward the machine in order for the pour to go into my mug rather than splashing off the edge and down the back. It's important to point out a design flaw. I read every review I could get my hands on. This was not mentioned in any of the articles I read. Neither do we have any fancy mugs. Just a regular 12-hour shift. Some are taller/bigger than others, but the spout height is not an issue. The U features a magnetic drip tray that can be removed, leaving the machine's front completely open. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some photos so you can see what I'm talking about. I noticed that the drip tray on the Inissia and Citiz appears to be similar in design, so they may have the same problem. If you wear the glasses that Nespresso sells, you won't be affected because they're tapered and smaller at the bottom. br>br>Pictures are included to show the difference between regular mug placement with Pixie (flip up tray) vs. U-style (removable tray) from the past. br>br>In terms of stars, I'm somewhere between a 2 and a 3. It's ok. It's very likely that this will be reversed.

On the market, this is the best convenience espresso machine
5/5

Produces a good espresso shot in a short amount of time with minimal effort and mess. Despite the higher initial cost of a higher-end traditional espresso machine, research indicates that this is the best convenience pod system espresso machine on the market for producing a proper espresso. I'm not one to follow the latest trend, but I wanted a better caffeine experience without having to leave my house every time. br>br>Once I decided on Nespresso, I couldn't decide between their VertuoLine and OriginaLine, so I went with the OriginaLine because it won't replace my regular drip coffee maker because we can still make a good strong pot of coffee with fresh beans. So, for us and when we have guests over, the Nespresso is more of a supplemental caffeine experience. br>br>I chose the Pixie Titanium based solely on its appearance and the fact that it is primarily made of metal. I purchased the bundle because it was so reasonably priced on Amazon that I couldn't resist! I wasn't expecting to use the Aeroccino much other than for the occasional cappuccino or for visitors, but we do. We use unsweetened almond milk instead of milk, which froths beautifully and produces a rich cappuccino or latte. The long and short of it is that it makes a good shot of espresso almost instantly, doesn't take up a lot of counter space, gives you the option of a long or regular shot, is built solidly, has a classic Art Deco appeal, and the brand offers excellent customer service. Nespresso recycles the aluminum pods and composts the old coffee inside, and for free they will send you a prepaid UPS bag that you can put the used pods in and take to a UPS drop off I strongly advise you to register your Pixie with Nespresso and order your pods from them; their prices range from 70 to 100 dollars per pod. They charge 75 cents per pod, depending on the type, and they give away free gifts such as glassware.

SWEET! Until now, I had never owned a Nespresso machine
5/5

What a difference this made in my morning cup of coffee. I used two Originaline Nespresso pods to make the best 8-ounce cup of coffee I've ever had. In comparison to my old Bunn coffee maker, this brews coffee so much better. At 19 bar, this small bad boy packs a punch for a robust, flavorful Java! It's an understatement to say it's a powerhouse, but it's the best I can come up with for such a small package. Get yourself one to try out, and let me tell you, my experience has been nothing short of AMAZING!.
