Yes, this is perfectly normal. It's because it heats the water very quickly; no problem, I assume; it's a high-wattage calrod that heats a cup of water in under a minute.

Although the red appliance looks lovely on my counter, it can only drain amber-colored water. water with different colors There appears to be a straight path through the pod that prevents all of the coffee in the pod from being moistened before draining into my cup. I've tried unsuccessfully several methods to help the machine retain a small amount of water for a little longer, but it irritates me that I bought a machine that was supposed to save me time, and I'm having to go through all of these extra steps just to get a cup of coffee. To slow the flow of water, I'm going to stick part of a toothpick down the drain. I'm hoping I don't get too hot under the collar.
The words "compact" dictate the size of this machine, which is fairly standard in size but fits nicely on the table in the back of my office. Look at the pictures. It's possible that it won't fit in tight spaces or beneath low-hanging cabinets. My only gripe is that anything taller than a Tervis cup may not fit under the dispenser, which isn't a big deal. The drip tray can be removed to make room for a slightly larger cup, but not all sizes will fit. Aside from that, it's simple to use and does exactly what it's supposed to.
After reading some of the other reviews, I almost decided not to buy this unit. But I gave it a try because this one had a 4 cup water reservoir, the imperial red was appealing, and the compactness of the unit was appealing; however, when I got the unit and tasted the coffee it brewed - I was completely enamored with her. For me, the flavor and taste are the most important factors.
Because I'm retired, I don't drink three thermoses before 9 a. m. , which is great. Wife appreciates me because I am not a slob.
I have a larger Keurig at home that I enjoy, and when my old coffee system at work broke down, I decided to get a small Keurig for my office, which is a great size and performs just as well as my larger model. It makes me very happy.
It was purchased as a gift for my daughter, and she absolutely adores it.
I replaced the first Keurig I purchased after it died after about a year. That one, too, only worked for 33 days before giving up. I know I shot myself in the foot, but I had recycled the packing materials that I would have needed to return it, so I tossed it in the trash and went out and bought a small Chinese brewer that has served me well thus far.
I'd like my money back. Horrible plastic taste, gave me a headache after drinking a cup, and made my stomach hurt.
