Selected User Reviews For Nespresso Lattissima Touch Original Espresso Machine with Milk Frother by De'Longhi, Frosted Silver
You might be wondering what makes this DeLonghi "America" Lattissima Touch different from the 2015 Lattissima Touch. It's all- and only- in the programming of the touch-sensitive buttons This new "America" Lattissima Touch has a "Creamy Latte" button, which puts coffee at the bottom, more milk in the middle, and froth on top of the coffee. br>br>The Lattissima Touch has been updated to remove the. Ristretto button with an 85 ounce capacity. There's an espresso and a lungo button if you're just looking for coffee. There are four milk/coffee combinations to choose from: Cappuccinos (coffee/milk mixture with froth on top), Latte Macchiatos (milk on the bottom, coffee in the middle, milk on top, plus froth), Creamy Lattes (described in the first paragraph), and Warm Milk Froth (as much as you want; If necessary, keep going until the milk container is empty. The same milk options are available in the old version of the Lattissima Touch, with the exception of the Creamy Latte. It's worth noting: br>br> The thickness and quantity of froth can be adjusted. And- This is a fantastic feature in our opinion. You don't need to make a cup of coffee to use the Warm Milk button. During the winter, we use it to add creaminess and froth to tomato soup and to top hot chocolate. br>br>The Creamy White color is lovely and well-executed. It's ivory in color and matches the photos on this product page perfectly. br>br>On this machine, the milk container DOES CLEAN ITSSELF. And it does so automatically after each use when the user presses a button on the container. We keep a small cup near the machine to catch the steam and water that comes out during the cleaning process. A warning light illuminates, reminding you to press the cleaning button and return the milk container to the refrigerator (which is a safety issue). br>br>The machine has the same shape and size as the 2015 model, and it has a small footprint for what it does. It can easily be stowed away behind cabinets. All you have to do is keep in mind that the water container is located in the back of the machine-- In order to refill, you must lift it up and off. Consider the newest Nespresso machine, the Lattissima One, if you still need something smaller and only have one or two people in your household. It has a very nice appearance, but the milk container is smaller. br>br>One thing we've noticed about the Lattissima Touch machines, both older and newer models: Water flows through the capsule at different speeds depending on whether the blend in the capsule is a finer or coarser grind. The finer the grind, the slower the water passes through, and the more intense the blend, the finer the grind. That was confirmed by a Nespresso representative, and it makes perfect sense. It's also mentioned in the instruction booklet's "Troubleshooting guide. " However, we've discovered that some of the less potent capsules, such as the Bukela, are affected as well. So, that's part of the experience, not a flaw in the machine; it's not a clog, and you don't need to descale until a small LED light indicates that you should. (Buy your descaling solution from Nespresso; it's much less expensive than what you'll find on Amazon. ) )br>br>In terms of capsules: They are extremely simple to obtain directly from Nespresso. And- After experimenting with a number of non-alcoholic beverages, Nothing else, in my opinion, compares to the quality of the Nespresso line of Grand Crues, and Nespresso releases limited runs of some truly exceptional, unusual finds several times a year. For the month of November, Nespresso also has a few flavored blends for the holidays in December. While I'm writing this review, there's a special on two iced coffee blends. And almost every month, Nespresso has a special offer. New offerings, free accessories (I have several sets of cups and glasses from Nespresso that I received for free by placing my coffee order during a special), and even free chocolate are among the offers. When you register your machine and become a new member, you'll get a $10 coffee coupon. br>br>You also get a sample of each of the regular Grand Cru blends, as well as a new machine. When making each Grand Cru, I recommend that all coffee drinkers in your home be present. During the pour, everyone should get a chance to smell the coffee, watch the crema develop in the cup, and take a sip. You can see what's happening inside the cup because it's a walled cup. Make a list of what each person has to say. It's not only entertaining, but it's also a rewarding activity to do as a group.
PROSbr> Ease of use despite the fact that the instruction manual is a novellabr> Simple operation (see Cons re: buttons)br> Incredibly fast brew times with no quality loss (a latte macchiato takes less than a minute)br> Beautiful and elegant design that, surprisingly, has a small footprint (you'll need about a 1 cubic foot space, but you'll need plenty of overhead room to refill the water tank-- Neutrals in regards to Highly customizable, including coffee/milk amounts, so you can make the perfect brew for your mug and palate (see Cons re: water tank)br> NEUTRALSbr>* If you have the milk attached to the spent capsule tray, you must use caution when removing it because bad things can happen if you just pull it out (ask me how I know-- br>* The water tank, while elegant and cleverly designed, requires acclimation because you must carry it by the lid, and there's always the worry that the lid will snap off (it hasn't yet, but I'll certainly update if it does), and it's so small that you'll need to refill it every few cupsbr>br>CONSbr>- As I previously stated, the manual is a novella that is not always well laid out. It doesn't have a detailed legend in the front or back (which might not be a big deal if you're already familiar with DeLonghi or espresso beverages), and several of the instructions have you jumping from page to page; The good news is that once you've mastered the machine, you won't need to refer to it nearly as often, but keep it handy just in case. br>- Nespresso capsules are expensive, costing between 70 and 80 cents per capsule. $1 per cup (double that if you need more than one capsule per beverage), and there's not a lot of competition- Certainly not in the same way that Keurig's K-cups do. cups-- and they're nearly impossible to find outside of an online store (for example, I'd have to travel 10 miles to the nearest Nespresso boutique instead of less than a mile to my local big-name grocer)br>- Cleaning (and I mean *complete* cleaning) the milk dispenser is a mission, especially with all the small parts that must be pulled apart and soaked before washing (I'm always afraid of losing the milk foam adjuster knob or the fob that locks it into place). br>br>WORTH NOTING: If you're one of the people who bought a reusable K-cup, you're in luck. It will be more difficult to do the same with this cup because you want to reduce your environmental footprint. The choices are limited and, based on user feedback, suspect. The good news is that Nespresso recycles its used capsules, and you can get free recycling bags from their website, which you can drop off at any UPS location. br>br>As I continue to use the Lattissima, I may update this review; however, if you have any questions about it or my experience with it, please leave a comment and I'll do my best to respond.
If you want to become a coffee addict, this is the place to go. It's not quite as good as Starbucks, but it will elevate your espresso experience. It's simple to make your own drinks and personalize them. A favorite weekend euphoria is an Irish latte. Great coffee selection, and I'm glad I took the plunge with this nespresso machine; I'm actually bummed I have to go to Starbucks for coffee at the airport. For those curious, this works well with coconut almond milk, whereas at Starbucks, any milk substitute besides soy has sugar added.
I was a little worried after reading the reviews that said it was difficult to use, so I went to the official Nespresso website and read the instructions before receiving it to make sure I was ready! They're simple to do, and they even come with videos! I'm not sure why people complain about cleaning or how difficult it is to get things to work. It's as simple as that. People complain about how expensive it is, but perhaps they are comparing it to the cost of American coffee if that is all they drink. However, if you enjoy espresso or cappuccino, you will undoubtedly save money by using this method! I'm on my third day, and I've already had three double espresso/cappuccinos. It doesn't take long, and I appreciate being able to get a caffeine fix in a matter of seconds! They have such a wide variety of flavors, and I left a small (hidden)instruction for friends and family to follow when they come to visit.
