Questions & Answers

Is there a timer for each step (kneading, rising, baking) on this machine?

No, it doesn't work that way. Only the time feature can be used to postpone baking. Let's say you want your bread to be ready for dinner, but it's still a few hours away. You can set it to start and stop right when you sit down to eat dinner, which is convenient if you're going to work and want it ready when you get home.

I'm looking for a place where I can download pdf recipes. ?

It also includes a small recipe booklet. Other recipes can be found by searching for bread machine recipes on the internet. Several bread machine cookbooks are also available for purchase. There are a number of articles on how to convert your favorite recipes.

Is there one or two paddles in the baking pan? My old machine, which recently died, had two of them, and they both seemed to work fine. ?

Try the following for two paddles: 1) BB- Zojirushi 2) West Bend 41410 Hi-Speed Mixer PAC20 Home Bakery Virtuoso Breadman BK2000B Bakery Pro Bread Maker or 3) Rise Bread Maker

Doe. Is it shaky when it's being used?

No, it doesn't make much noise except for a brief moment when it opens the little trap door in the top and shakes out nuts and raisins into your dough; this happens whether or not you have additional ingredients. We are extremely pleased with our machine, as well as the quality and results. It does not shake, but it does make a small noise when mixing the dough. In the recipe book, there is a typo for French bread, and it does call for 4 cups of bread flour. That's the loaf we make the most, and it's delicious.

Oh, the horror! First and foremost, I'd like to state that this was my first time baking bread
5/5

EVER, and also my first time using a bread machine. br>It was a little intimidating at first, with so many buttons and programs to choose from, but like any true overachiever, I read the instructions thoroughly. Before the first use, I did everything that was asked of me. Yes, it did have a peculiar odor, but that was forewarned. Before I started writing this review, I made two different kinds of bread. Of course, I chose two recipes that contained errors. If you're desperate to try French Countryside bread, this is the place to go. 4 cups bread flour is required, and those who want to try Apple Walnut bread should do so. It's a quarter cup of brown sugar, not four cups. br>I followed the directions; it was actually quite simple in retrospect, but I was nervous about ruining the machine and failing at my first attempt at bread baking. (An aside to those who use the included cup without thinking. ) 1 cup is measured to the line, not to the top, as most 1 cup(s) in a kitchen are. I've read a few reviews where people have complained about bad breads, and I believe it's more likely to be a user error, not fresh yeast, or the wrong water temperature than a machine issue. )br>Having said that, I adore this machine, and it has all of the features that other reviewers have mentioned: Nice design, easy to clean, super quiet (except when the nuts compartment's bottom drops), convenient display for everything that's going on, a small window to satisfy your curiosity about what's going on inside (yes, I found myself looking into it, watching the kneading process, watching the bread rise, watching it turn a lovely color when baking). br>Our house smells like freshly baked bread, and I don't mean that in a good way. Both the French Countryside and the Apple Walnut breads are fantastic! br>br>As of August 2020, there are some additional notes. We haven't bought bread from a store since we got this machine, and I'd say I can make bread with my eyes closed in no time, with no worries; just put all the ingredients in the machine, press start, and walk away. Don't worry, the machine will notify you when it's finished: ) Once or twice a week, we make fresh bread. Everything about the machine is excellent. Our toddler enjoys looking through the small window to see what is going on inside. br>br>BEST PURCHASE MADE!.

"Swiss Quality" is a term used to describe the quality of something made in Switzerland made in the People's Republic of China We recently used a resurrected 25-year-old West Bend bread machine, which made a lot of noise but made good bread
3/5

We reasoned that, given how noisy the old beast was, we should probably get a new one. As a result, we chose this "so-called" solution. It's referred to as a "high-quality" Swiss thing. When I first opened the box, it appeared to be in excellent condition, but it felt "light. " I looked through the paperwork to see if it was made in Switzerland, but there was nothing there. Whatever the case may be, we tried it. With that in mind, attempt 1 with a tried-and-true bread machine recipe resulted in a collapsed loaf, despite my wife's certification in certain sourdough baking and many years of baking experience in general, as well as plenty of experience using a bread machine. She adjusted the water content in Attempt 2 according to the instructions from this "Swiss" thing. and then there's another loaf that's collapsed. Attempt 3: she tried one of their (most likely non-Swiss) recipes, which resulted in a hollow loaf this time! You're out with three strikes. I thought the bottom of the "Swiss" bread machine would reveal where it was made as I was repackaging it for its journey back to wherever it came from. What's more, what do you know about it? "Made in PRC," meaning "People's Republic of China," is written on the label. Granted, it's my fault for not checking to see if this item was truly "Swiss" despite their claims. But, more importantly, it's their fault for not disclosing this in the Amazon listing's description, let alone claiming "Swiss Quality"! Isn't this deceptive, if not outright deceptive? Oh well, it's returning to its "Swiss" roots. We'll get a REAL loaf of bread from our clunky old 25-year-old West Bend in the "PRC. ".

It's a good investment
5/5

I've had about 20 years of experience with bread machines.   This is the eighth or ninth machine I purchase because it is an experience that my friends enjoy as well. br>This time, I'm betting on the Swiss manufacturers' reputation for high quality. And I don't believe I was mistaken.   br>Nice design and color that blends in with the rest of the kitchen; br>Programs for the most common types of bread have been prepared. br>The ability to run a program written by the proprietor; br>This is something I've only seen in higher-education institutions. bread machines at the very end br>Attenuation at work that is acceptable; Moreover: br> br>Exceedingly helpful customer service. br> AMAZON delivered on time, as it always does.

It's worth its weight in gold, and it's especially useful for gluten-free breads
5/5

Gluten is an allergy that affects two members of our family, including myself. I've tried to make a lot of gluten-free breads since I discovered this about ten years ago. I've been buying store-bought bread for around $7 a loaf because the majority of my attempts were epic failures. With all of the positive reviews, I decided to give this bread maker a try. We received it the day before yesterday and baked the first loaf the next day. I had given up hope of ever finding a soft gluten-free bread that didn't require toasting, but this machine proved me wrong. We devoured it so quickly that the photo only shows half of the loaf! To get the exact cycle times, I used the DIY setting. The machine is simple to clean, quiet, and does not heat up the entire house. It is also simple to program. In conclusion, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made; I would recommend it and purchase it again.

Pan with a Teflon coating
3/5

It had only been used once before. You did an excellent job. I returned it because, contrary to what I read in the descriptions, the bread pan is Teflon-coated rather than ceramic. br>It's a shame, because the rest of it was fantastic.

This recipe for Apple Walnut Bread is one of my favorites
4/5

However, if you use the Apple Walnut Bread recipe that comes with it, you should be aware that the recipe is printed incorrectly (at least in my copy). ) The recipe calls for "4 cup" brown sugar, according to the book. "1/4 cup" should be changed to "1/4 cup. " " This is a disaster on the verge of occurring.
