Questions & Answers

Is it possible to cook three eggs instead of four?

Yes, you can certainly cook fewer than four eggs! I've even poached an egg.br>The key to poached eggs is the water and the steam that rises from the boiling water and cooks the egg; I leave the four cups in while cooking any number of eggs. Do the cups separate when you remove them?

Yes, they are sold separately; however, given the high quality of the product, this is a great deal. I've never overcooked my eggs because I use a heavy-duty pan. Great for egge Benedict or poached eggs on toast.br>I toasted a slice of bread and topped it with a slice of hard salami before microwaving it for 15 seconds. 20 seconds later, I slid the poached egg on top, and everyone went crazy. This is something I really enjoy. br>It takes about three hours. Poached eggs take 4 minutes to prepare. I bring it to a boil on high, then reduce the heat to a medium-low setting on my range. It's nearly done when the top of the egg whitens up.

Is it true that the cups aren't biodegradable? stick?

They are truly non-existent. stick. Even better, they're detachable, allowing you to place the egg exactly where you want it and then slip it out with ease. This is a fantastic update on an old favorite, which I highly recommend.

Is it possible to use this pan on an induction stove?

Magnetic-compatible cookware is required for induction cooking. Cast iron or magnetic stainless steel are examples of cast-iron-based materials. The poach is created by the cups
5/5

For the past 30 years, I've used poachers, and the cups in which the egg sits are without a doubt the most important factor. A true poacher will heat the egg from the sides rather than the bottom, allowing a solid white to form while the yolk remains liquid. This poacher is the best I've used in a long time, great value, highly satisfied, if you love poached eggs, this is a must, worth every penny.

With two cautions, this is a fantastic pan
4/5

It's a well-known fact. heavy-duty, made It's a heavy-duty pan that gets the job done. Because of two warnings, I deducted a star: 1) When washing the ring that holds the cups, be very careful because the edges where the cups go in are very sharp and can easily cut you. Even if you think you're being careful (wear rubber gloves), make sure the cup handles are away from the steam holes in the ring when removing it, or you'll get a steam burn. I like it and will not return it for those reasons; however, you should be aware of this. If you prefer the whites cooked and the yolk half-cooked/half-runny, I have found that on a gas range at mid-heat, the whites can be cooked and the yolk can be half-cooked/half-runny. I time a larger egg for 5 minutes and a smaller egg for 3 minutes, depending on the temperature range. 4 large to medium eggs (sizes vary because my eggs are fresh from the chicken) The time limit is five minutes.

Sharp and perilous The egg cups are held in place by a metal insert that is of poor quality
3/5

The circles and outside edge are razor sharp when washing or handling, and my husband received a deep cut on his finger as a result. This area should be milled to remove any sharp edges. I doubt they are unaware of the flaw, and if they are, they should be ashamed. DO NOT PURCHASE.

Sharp as a dagger! So when it first arrived, I was ecstatic
3/5

It has a substantial and long-lasting feel to it. It also did a fantastic job with the eggs. However, when I went to clean the inside tray, it severely cut my finger! The inner tray's outer edges, as well as the edges of the circles in which the egg trays sit, are razor-sharp! They were not filed or finished on the edges, and they were as sharp as a knife. I'm thinking about going back because I'm afraid we'll have a problem if one of my kids washes it.

The process is simple and error-free
5/5

I wanted to try my hand at making my own poached eggs, but I needed a fail-safe recipe. I was very pleased with the product when I received it three days after ordering it. The pan had already been prepared when it arrived. I was very pleased with the fact that it came fully assembled and with all of the parts included, which is not always the case when purchasing online. The pan was made of high-quality, heavy-gauge stainless steel, and the egg cups were deep enough to prevent any yolk from spilling out or water from flowing in while simmering. I've used it a few times now and haven't had any problems; the eggs in each chamber always cook evenly, and the clear lid allows you to see what's going on in the pan. Buying is something I strongly advise.

Finally, an egg poacher who is up to the task
5/5

This pleased me a great deal. It's sturdy and has a nice weight to it. Extra large eggs can be placed in the cups because they are deep enough. On our flat cooktop, the flat bottom is ideal. What I like best is that when the eggs are done, they simply slide or pour out. There's no need to scrub the egg cups after they've been cooked any longer. Before I put the eggs in the cups, I grease them with a little butter. As soon as the water begins to boil, I reduce the heat to a low heat and add the cups to the pan, cooking for 4 1/2 minutes for a soft center. For a firm yolk, add another minute or two.

The most delicious poached eggs I've ever tasted! It's as simple as watching the video and following the directions
4/5

I gave it four minutes the first time I used it, but the whites were a little runny because of it. The second time, I increased the cooking time to 4 12 minutes to ensure perfect whites, and they turned out fantastically! Spraying Pam in the cups makes it easier to remove them when they're done. Anything that has been sitting in steam for a long time is going to be hot. . . . duh! However, it's very easy to clean up. I've used a lot of pots, and this one is one of the heaviest. Everything should work fine if you use the recommended amount of water. We use a gas stove, but it should work on an electric or induction stove as well. The handle on the lid was a little loose when I got it, but that was quickly fixed with a Phillips screwdriver (don't tighten it TOO much, though, because it is, after all, a glass lid). Another issue is that after the stamping, the tray that holds the cups was left with razor-sharp edges, which is why it only receives four stars. It's razor-sharp enough to injure people. To get rid of the sharp edges (18-inch), I had to work it for half an hour. The stainless steel number 8 is actually quite tough). I understand they wanted to keep the brushed finish after stamping, but leaving burrs that sharp is an embarrassment considering the rest of the product. But it's a winner when it comes to getting great poached eggs!.

The poached viola was perfect
5/5

Poached eggs that are absolutely perfect. Set the timer for 5 minutes after bringing the water to a steady simmer and dropping up to 1 jumbo egg into each pod. They slide out of this cooking pan with ease once they're done.
