Stupid rice casserole dish with additional ingredients
5/5

We had a round Pyrex casserole dish that was primarily used for making rice in the oven that was dropped and had some pieces chipped off. We didn't want our baby to get cut on the newly-installed carpet, so sharpened surface (or having it explode in the oven due to micro-explosions) We decided to replace it because of the fractures. We decided to purchase this rectangular casserole dish after spending some time looking at the various options. br>br>Since getting it almost a year ago, we've used it to make baked potatoes au gratin, buckwheat, BBQ ribs, lasagna, taco casserole, and, of course, rice. The size of this is ideal for preparing meals that will last a few days but taste like they took hours to prepare. It's much easier to serve and store with a lid with a sturdy handle. To save space, we store it with the lid turned inside out (handle on the inside). br>br>For the rice, 2 cups water and 1 cup rice are combined in this Pyrex dish and baked at 375 degrees for 45 minutes with the lid on. The best part about this method is that you don't have to stir it; simply put it in the oven and forget about it. br>br>If you're looking for a new casserole dish, this Pyrex brand dish is an excellent choice. The quality of the product is poor
3/5

When I bake, I use Pyrex cookware. Cooking with pure glass is one of my favorite things to do. I preheated the casserole dish in the oven and then placed my marinated meat on top of it to sear it, as I had done before, but instead of sizzling before going into the oven, it violently shattered all over the kitchen: The floor was covered in glass, and the counters were covered in it as well. This level of quality is unappealing to me. It worked fine for general baking as long as temperatures were gradually increased and decreased, but it did not perform as well as my other pyrex. I'm not convinced it's made of pyrex.

To put it mildly, it's extremely dangerous

Not the first, second, or third person to go off the rails! br>It's amazing why Amazon keeps selling this. They owe us not only the replacement product, but also our dinners, which were ruined. br>Oven damage caused by glass embedded in the oven's sides. br>I'm not sure I'd give it a one. In order to leave a comment, you must first provide that information. br>The explosion happened as I was reaching for the oven door to open.

Exploded! I got it right before Christmas and used it for the first time this past weekend
3/5

Baked ravioli and tortellini were on the menu. I was looking forward to trying out the new baking dish alongside my old Pyrex standby. The tortellinis were served in this dish. Both dishes were filled with sauce and cooked pasta, then topped with mozzarella while still at room temperature and baked without a cover to heat and melt the cheese. We had only been cooking the dishes for about ten minutes when we heard a loud bang and saw steam rising from the oven. When we opened the oven, we discovered that this dish had exploded, scattering glass shards and baked tortellini throughout the oven from top to bottom, as well as glass shards landing in the other Pyrex dish (which, by the way, was fine). br>br>My other Pyrex baking dish is over two decades old and has been used weekly for a variety of dishes with no problems. This, in my opinion, was not a case of thermal shock. If it was due to my carelessness, the other Pyrex dish should have been damaged as well. I called World Kitchen, and they said they'd send me a replacement because the dish was defective.

The lid is made of glass! Produce a million more
5/5

This is fantastic. Why did Pyrex with GLASS lids stop being sold in stores? What did they think when someone in the room suggested, "You know what, let's get rid of the glass lid. " Let's make a flimsy plastic lid that will not stay closed and cannot be used in the oven. It will be a huge hit! "I've always wondered why CEOs never buy or use the company's products. They would sell things the way they were made in the 1950s and 1960s if they did, and if they cared about something other than their next bonus.

In the United States, Pyrex became soft sodium lime, but the ROW remained borosilicate
3/5

Writing this makes me sad. We've been gathering cookware, glass storage ware, and bakeware for a while now, just in case the brand, like so many other American products, goes overseas. Pyrex products have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was able to gain our confidence. Before placing this order, I read some scary reviews, but I didn't believe Pyrex glassware could actually explode. At work, I used Pyrex tubes, beakers, and flasks over extremely high heat with no problems, but this casserole had numerous thermo stresses, most likely due to an incorrect annealing process. Worse, a bubble has formed where the handle connects to the casserole - a time bomb in the oven to cause an explosion I'm not sure how this Pyrex glassware made it through quality control. It's possible that bubbles in a drinking glass are acceptable. Even in a drinking glass these days, that's difficult to come by. As is customary with Amazon, customer service handled the situation well and issued a refund. The irony, of course, is this: Pyrex was invented in America (Corning/Pyrex) and is now soft sodium lime in the United States, but Pyrex in borosilicate is still available throughout the world. So, if you want good Pyrex, you'll have to wait for it to be shipped back from another country. The $10 wasn't the issue; it was the deterioration of American Pyrex quality that was. I can't bring myself to give Pyrex a one-star rating because it's still marked "Made in USA. " br>br>If you're a Pyrex fan, here's a great Amazon review: "You can still collect borosilicate bakeware: Anchor Hocking, Arcuisine (European Pyrex license), Simax (Czech famous) are just a few examples. two hundred years); They're more expensive, and they're not made of Pyrex!.

It was a faulty, unreliable, and unpredictable product that didn't last

The meal had to be thrown out. This baking dish cracked in the middle during use in the oven after a few years of normal use.

The casserole dish is exploding
3/5

I'd only had this casserole dish for about 60 days when it blew up in my oven. I was only baking at 350 degrees, and when I went online to look up what had happened, I discovered that this is a fairly common occurrence with Pyrex products. Thankfully, unlike some other people, the oven was not open when it exploded. As a result of this, I'm going to switch all of my glass bakeware to ceramic.
