Questions & Answers

Is this larger model available in 12V or can a 12V adaptor be used? Is the amperage draw too high for a 12V adaptor to work safely?

This model is not available in 12 volt, but it can be used with an adapter - We recommend a vehicle adapter with a power rating of 150 watts. This model requires 100 watts of power and. Operating current is 8 amps.

I have two of these and they don't get hot even when plugged into a 500W car converter. Do you have any suggestions?

Obviously, the first thing you should do is double-check that all of your electronics are in good working order. Make sure both Hot Logics are turned on in the house and that they are hot. After that, I'd test the inverter by plugging something into it. If none of this works, I'd try plugging in just one of them. It should absolutely work with 500 watts. If this isn't the case, your inverter's batteries might be failing. It's possible that the inverter isn't working properly and isn't producing 500 watts of power.

Does it include a casserole dish and lid, as does the standard size HL?

Yes, a casserole dish with a lid is included. At the very least, mine did.

How long does it take for the water to boil?

1 hour to reheat and 2 hours to cook from raw.

I'm blown away! It's something I use on a daily basis at work
4/5

I'll be honest, I had my doubts about this product. How could you have a mini oven that can heat up to - not to mention the fact that COOK - While driving, can you eat something? I was fed up with eating out at work, and I'm an avid hiker, backpacker, and camper who enjoys taking my family on road trips. So, this product piqued my interest, and I decided to give it a shot for two reasons: 1. br>br> Keep food warm for the entire family of three while traveling (car ride or hotel room)br>2. Heat/cook food from scratch at work (to reduce meal prep the night before)br>br>I'm SO GLAD I tried this oven! PROSbr>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- Heats food to 165 degrees Fahrenheit in a variety of containers before keeping it warm: Glass (my favorite), plastic, and paper (which, surprisingly, does not burn)br>- When you forget to unplug it overnight (which I did once by accident! ), it does not catch fire. )
- CAN COOK FOOD FROM START TO FINISH IN 2 HOURS 4 hours (vegetables, beef ribs, salmon; 4 hours) even a whole Cornish hen with butterflies)br>- Surprisingly, it doesn't stink up the office (a coworker in the next cubicle despises the smell of fish and had no idea salmon was on the stove)br>- Easy to clean (I use a piece of paper to separate the heating plate from the food container, which does not burn)br>- With a cigarette-shaped cigarette-shaped cigarette-shaped cigarette-shaped With a lighter inverter, you can use this oven in your car as well. br>- Though cooking for too long can turn your chicken or salmon mushy or dry, the food has remained moist. br>- Frozen items can be reheated or cooked (Note: It is not recommended that you use this oven to make a chicken pot pie. Instead, cook it first in a microwave or oven, then reheat it in this HotLogic oven. )br>- Slow cooking helps to keep the nutrients in the cooking container. br>br>CONSbr>- The color red is the only one available. br>- The carry bag, unlike the HotLogic Mini, lacks reflective insulation (which could help with even cooking). br>br>TIPSbr>- Without covering the food container, toast the bread in the oven. It turns out to be quite toastybr>- It's best to cut up chicken into smaller pieces or cubes when cooking it. However, I have cooked a whole cornish hen in this oven for 4 hours and it came out perfectly juicy (I had cut it in half to cook faster and more evenly). br>- When you register the product (which I still haven't done), you get a generous warranty period. br>br>This is an AMAZING product that makes road trips and hotel stays a lot more fun, and it has saved me a TON of money and time by allowing me to prepare meals (from raw to fully edible) at work. When the HotLogic Mini becomes available, I plan to purchase it as well. br>br>If this review was helpful to you, please click the "Helpful" button below to encourage me to write more. This is an absolute must-have
5/5

I love this product because I'm on the go all day and it keeps my lunch warm. I cook soups in my hot logic after freezing them. I leave it running while driving, and when I stop for a break, I have a meal that is far superior to microwaved food. My food does not become overcooked as a result of it. It's not a problem if you want to put a sandwich in there! Place your sandwich in a container, plug it in, and wait 30 minutes for it to warm up before flipping it over and waiting another 30 minutes. Bam, a hot sandwich with a light crunch on the outside, and a plate of warmed pizza. I cooked leftover spaghetti in a hot logic and it turned out to be delicious. My truck has an electrical outlet on the dash, and the hot logic works perfectly on it, which is odd because I can't use the outlet to power a small heating pad. If you're taking a hot dish to a family dinner, plug it into a 100 watt inverter in your car and your food will be piping hot when you get there. I adore this product, and I've also tried the lunch-size version, which I borrowed from a semi-truck driver friend and found to be equally as effective. What if there's a spill inside? Pulling the electrical cord through the bag, removing the heat source, and wiping up the spill is no problem. If I'm putting a liquid in the hot logic, I use glass containers with locking lids, but you can also use on-the-go containers. I used to eat a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the road before I got this, but now I can have hot meals that aren't overcooked!.

It still works perfectly after 15 months
5/5

It's a great device that saves time and energy while providing healthy food. I have used this device every day for 15 months and it still works perfectly. It has a few scratches on the inside, but it has literally been a part of my life every day for the last 15 months and it still works perfectly. I bought it in December of 2018 and have relied on it since then. It has changed the quality of my life because it cooks food without overcooking it and makes it available when I have the time to eat it. There is no need to reheat it, no need to eat it cold, and no need to burn it. I love this device, and it has worked flawlessly for 15 months. Thank you for making one of the best kitchen investments I've ever made. Thank you for making such a great product. I now have three of them and have given them as gifts.

For truck drivers, this is ideal
5/5

In my semi, I use it. This device is always on in my house. I take mostly precooked meals on the road with me and warm them up on this hot plate. To power it, I use a 150-watt inverter that I purchased on Amazon. This thing has even been used to cook chicken breast. The chicken was so tender that by the end of the day, it had fallen apart.

Excellent for the home, but not so much in my RV
4/5

I really like this product; I've been using it at home for a few months and it's been great for reheating a variety of meal prep items. I was looking forward to using the HL to reheat about 20 meals I had prepared ahead of time for a trip in our 25ft RV to do some dry camping, but it wouldn't run on 12V. I have a 300 Watt inverter, and as soon as I plugged the HL into it, it sounded a fault alarm. Since the manual said it was 100 Watt / 0. I figured 300 Watt would be sufficient. 8 Amp. When I turn on the generator, the inverter runs a 300 Watt fan just fine, and HL works perfectly. However, since HL boasts that it can be powered by a cigarette lighter, that wasn't the point. Everything else about it is fantastic, and I'm glad I purchased it. I'm particularly pleased with the Family Size.
