The circumference of the bottom is 9. 5". I have an induction cooktop that is 11" in diameter - This skillet is ideal for cooking.
Please accept my apologies for not being able to respond. I went with the teal color.
It depends on the enamel quality (I returned this item for other reasons, so these observations are based on my previous experience with other pots). The chip may cause the pan to discolor, and you risk the "wound" growing larger now that the finish is compromised. If you want a top-notch finish, The pot may last a long time if it is kept in a drawer. However, if the blemish bothers you, replace the pot with one that is flawless. It's your kitchen, and you're in charge of the tools.
It's only been a month since I bought this pan. Every other day, I've used it on the stovetop (glass top) or in the oven. So far, it appears to be in the same condition as it was when I first received it. (Which, by the way, is ideal.)

For starters, there's the cost. For another, there's the matter of weight. I've always admired the beauty of enameled cast iron cookware but assumed it was too heavy to be useful. The price, on the other hand, was a resounding no. I've now cooked with two different enamelware pans, and while I prefer the dutch oven for its capacity, this casserole/braiser has completely won me over. It's basically a skillet without the long handle and can be used for almost anything. It's ideal for simmering; I've used it to cook fried chicken and burgers, and it's shallow enough to evaporate liquidy dishes. Gravy and sauces will be a breeze to make. I'm not going to lie: if you have nerve problems, back problems, or any other physical limitations, the weight is an issue. I'm not sure I'll be able to use this when I'm 80 or 90 years old. However, the even distribution of heat in these pans is remarkable. It's also a lot easier to work with than plain cast iron. It's a combination of cast iron and stainless steel. You can't put them in the dishwasher, but if you have to, you can clean them with a nylon scrubby or brush. Barkeeper's Friend removes stuck or burned-on food (as well as any marks on the porcelain). The added bonus for me is that they're so pretty that they sit on my hutch as display pieces. Overall, I'm very pleased with these; the lids fit perfectly, and the hardware is sturdy (no loose screws, which irritates me greatly). I'm also very pleased with how well food cooks in them. I like that I can pop the lid off this 'casserole' and use it as a built-in serving dish on my table by placing it on a metal trivet. $269 gets you the closest Le Creuset. (I found one for over $300) I'm completely satisfied with this piece, and I'm already on the lookout for a few more at a price that isn't Le Unbelieveable!.
This is a fantastic skillet. It's difficult to clean, according to some reviewers, which I find surprising. When food gets stuck on the bottom, I soak it in warm soapy water for a few minutes before rubbing it away. (Magic erasers can come in handy here. ) Other customers have complained that it isn't white, which they are correct about; it is ivory. My only concern is that, after only a few months of use, the enamel has already developed chips (2 on the base, 1 on the rim). I hand-wash it and don't put any other pans in or on top of it. As a point of comparison, I also have a 15-year-old son. It's a year old Creuset piece that was given to me (Creuset is way out of my price range) and it's still in perfect condition. As a result, I'm worried about the long-term viability. Aside from that, it heats evenly and is simple to clean. I'll be satisfied as long as the enamel lasts.
For such a versatile piece, this is an excellent value. Mine has no chips or poor quality.
This is truly exceptional value for money. It's beautiful to look at, and it's even better to eat. The only drawback is that "amazon basics" is printed in block print on the knob. It's not the name that I dislike; I'm not pretending to be someone else; I just wish the design and printing were a little more appealing; it looks slapped on there. This is a minor point. Overall, a fantastic performance.
Finally! I really like this piece of crockery. Cooking in the Bavarian countryside is something I do a lot of - I'm always looking for a good cast iron crock because I cook a lot of sausage and chicken. Enamel must be present - will not work without both outer and inner enamel because it is physically impossible to clean or even DRY a non-enameled surface. enamel cast iron (due to its ferrous properties, d-) I'm afraid I won't be able to go into detail about orbitals and valence shell behavior in this brief review!). I was instantly drawn to the soft cream color of my newest crockery (cast iron, mind you). The colors in my Le Cruesets are all vibrant. Enough! I don't need to be cooking "provincial sausage and herbs (with chicken)" in a lime green monstrosity that doesn't even have a proper heat circulation system - ceramics! Here's where the heat comes from: it's brilliant My euro-currency has turned a rusty brown color. In less than a minute, you can make heavy salted goat butter. This is an excellent piece, and I will most likely order more in the near future!.
Cast iron braiser with a lovely design. However, Amazon stated that it was white enamel, which it is not; it is more almond or ivory in color. I'll be returning it because I was dissatisfied.
I really enjoy cooking with it because you can get things really hot and seared. . . and even if it appears to be badly burned, it cleans up quickly. It may need to soak overnight, but it will clean up; however, be gentle with the enamel and avoid scratching it. br>br>The lid fits snugly and is very solid and attractive; however, I wish they made a smaller one that I could use for dips; it would make it a little easier to travel with, as this one is quite heavy.
TERRIBLE! EVERYTHING catches fire and burns to the bottom of the pan. It burns before it's even finished cooking (my stove never goes above medium, and I stir almost constantly with this pan)! I wish I could get my money back so that I could buy a Lodge pan. I'm so disappointed in myself for making this purchase! br>In the photo, eggs are being cooked, but they are mostly raw, and the bottom is on fire. It's just awful.
