Shiny does not necessarily imply squishy. Metal pans perform better than glass or ceramic pans because they heat up faster, allowing the bottom crust to bake before the filling soaks it up. So, if you're making a fruit pie, I'd suggest using metal pie plates. Any pie plate will suffice for blind baking the bottom crust.
A little more than 12 inch in width. It appeals to me.

I'm let down. About a week ago, my wife placed an order for two of these pans. I ordered two more because we were so pleased with the quality, weight, and feel. When I first saw them, I was very disappointed. They were still nice, but not up to par in terms of quality. They didn't feel as good as the ones my wife got, and they were half the weight. There is a lack of quality control in this company. They appear to have multiple companies producing their pans. When you examine them closely, you'll notice that the name "Lindys" on the bottom of the pan is not in the same font as the ones my wife ordered. I'd give the ones my wife ordered a solid 5 out of 5. I can't give them a higher rating than a 3 for the ones I ordered.
As a result, I went out and purchased this pan - It's very dense, so pressing a graham cracker crust into it was easy. Since then, I've perfected the art of making a key lime pie. Twice.
It's a cat food dish for me. OK. Two of them were purchased. These are what I use for cat food to keep "whisker fatigue" at bay. (Do some research. ) )br>They're made of stainless steel and are very bright. Dishwashers are used on a daily basis, and after a few months, they appear to be brand new. I'm really happy with it. What about pies? br>br> I have no idea.
It's appealing and appears to be a significant improvement over the previous version. There are tin and aluminum ones in this style. Everything nowadays appears to be of lower quality, but this is an exception. 5 Stars. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> It isn't made of stainless steel at all. It appears to be excellent until you use it a few times. What a letdown! One star.
In addition, the cost is ideal. Stainless steel pie tins that are absolutely perfect. These gleaming stainless steel pie tins are impossible to beat at under $5 each. And it doesn't hurt my heart when someone cuts a pie or takes leftover pie and my tin home. In fact, I say, "Stay with it!" "br>br>Both homemade and store-bought crusts bake up crispy and delicious. It's tough, won't warp, and is simple to keep clean. Why not stock up at this price? I just bought my fourth one. br>br>These can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher, and they come out looking great. I like having the same tins because they stack and store the same way. And, as I try to avoid aluminum, I prefer stainless steel (along with carbon steel and cast iron) for all of my cookware. br>br>I was considering the 360 stainless steel pie tin, but the $100 price tag (for one tin) was too much for me to bear. The 360 tin will almost certainly be thicker, and it may even be clad with aluminum. But, to be honest, I can't think of a way to make this tin better, so I'm glad I didn't go for the more expensive version. br>br>This pie tin comes highly recommended. In fact, I'll order two more while I'm here.
To be honest, my husband and I are more of an outdoorsy, no-frills kind of couple. These are the plates on which we eat our meals. Casseroles, stews, beans, and other sauce-heavy dishes fall into this category. They are truly sturdy (I have issues with my hands and frequently drop things) and I have two that I purchased about three years ago that are used every day in the kitchen for various tasks and have no dents, which I find amazing! Nothing sticks to them, and the crust never sticks when I bake pies in them! br>br>I just went back to get a few more because we use them for so many things, including pies on occasion! br>I also like them because they remind me of my much-loved but now deceased Mother-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in Lindy was the name of the law!.
This was a fantastic purchase. Bottom crust gets browned.
These are highly recommended; you will not find a better price for something of this caliber. India produces these. I'm having fun with mine.
