Questions & Answers
Ed, your query has resulted in a year-long search. I was able to extract a small patch of alloy from the back side of the pan after extensive research. I discovered components common to China's Liaoning province by combining the results of the Tensile properties test with the GDS Chemical Analysis. In addition, I spoke with the Chairman of the Ashan Prefecture Council, who confirmed that Fox Run Brands of Ivyland, PA had hired a local manufacturer, as evidenced by the "Made in China" stamp on the front side.
1 pan. It's an expensive pan, but it's a good one.
It's stainless steel (SS), most likely type 304, a common and less expensive grade. When produced in a smelter (a massive multi-purpose facility), The 304 WAS magnetic (ton square rods) is a powerful magnet. When cold rolled into a thin sheet, however, the steel's structure changes from austenite (magnetic) to martensite, rendering the SS non-magnetic. magnetic. In other words, the internal structure, not just the nickel/chromium content, determines whether it is magnetically attracted. Because you changed the structure from autentistic to autentistic, if you heated this pan to a cherry red temperature and then cooled it, it would turn magnetic again. (If you don't have an inert atmosphere furnace, this is not a good idea.) If you're interested in learning more, look up "magnetic response of stainless steel."
They don't have any teflon on them. Some type of metal that does not attract a magnet lies beneath the THIN, easily scratched stainless steel COATING.

Aluminum, to be precise. ********Correction to my previous reviewbr>I misread the description and thought it said stainless steel. It's made in China and is made of aluminum with a thin stainless coating, according to reviews I read after I bought it. br>It wasn't what I thought I was buying. br>br>******initial reviewbr>Finally found a non-teflon muffin tin! This one is made entirely of stainless steel and performs admirably.

This item has left me feeling extremely let down. It was described as a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan on the packaging. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I didn't need it because it's only 8 by 4 inches. They measured it by the lengths of the handles rather than the actual dimensions of the pan. For me, it was a total waste of money. This is a clear case of deceptive marketing. Furthermore, the postage costs make it unprofitable to return. One of the most serious drawbacks of online shopping is the lack of personalization. I'm not going to buy anything else from Fox Run.
I'm giving it a four star rating, but I think it's closer to a three. 5 stars. The pan arrived on time and was in excellent condition, with a gleaming finish. The pan material is, however, very thin, as other reviewers have pointed out. The pan is made of aluminum and is extremely light. I had hoped for a pan that was thicker and more substantial. The pan had a label on it that was very difficult to remove because it was glued on. After a lot of scrubbing, I was finally able to remove all of the glue. I made muffins, which turned out to be delicious. They were perfectly baked in the time specified in the recipe. The pan did not clean as easily as I had hoped due to the oil cooking on the bottom. To get it clean and shiny, I had to scrub it with Bar Keepers Friend and a lot of elbow grease. The edges aren't professionally finished, so water and food can seep in, which I don't like and believe will become a problem as I use the pans more. I think the pan works well, but I doubt it will last for many years, though I wouldn't expect anything more for the price. A heavier-duty pan would have cost more, but stainless steel pans are hard to come by. The only way to find out is to wait.
There have been several reviews stating that the glue damages product, so why are it still on there if you care? I found this product for these reasons, that is, I wanted the protection of this pan from anything chemical to avoid from toxic storage facilities.
This does not impress me in the least. This is a standard 9x5 inch loaf pan, according to my understanding. It isn't the case. It's a little more than four. 5 inches wide by 8 3/4 inches long It is not the heavier stainless that I have ordered for the other stainless items. I'm still looking for a stainless steel pan that can hold a real loaf of bread. I was let down.
This is fantastic. I can't think of anything else to ask for. It is NOT a non-returnable item. I didn't want it to stick, so you'll have to soak it and put some effort into cleaning it, but that's to be expected. To avoid this, I frequently use liners, but I love that recipes that don't work well with liners, such as dinner rolls, don't leach chemicals into our food. Furthermore, if properly greased, rolls and other non-food items can be used. Sticky batters should simply be popped out. After 6 years, it's still in good shape and looks great. When we got a new oven, I went out and bought a second one.
My purchase was a great success. I'm not sure what reviewers meant when they said this pan was too thin. It's actually quite heavy duty, especially when compared to my stainless steel cookie sheets and baking pan. To say the least, it was thicker than I expected, and I had little difficulty removing the glue. Three small glue drops were easily wiped away with a brillo pad.
This muffin tin does exactly what I needed it to do. I grease it liberally with triple filtered coconut oil and rarely have trouble getting the muffins out once they're done baking. It is more difficult to clean than a teflon-based product, but it is safer in the long run. I simply soak it for a few minutes before tossing it into the dishwasher. Comes out spotless every time. In addition, the muffins have always been baked evenly. There's no rust, and there aren't any scratches on the surface. Love it.
