This is an adequate refractive index meter

It is OK to use this refractometer. Neither it was calibrated nor was it included. An error of sg was found in the unit. I am not satisfied with the tightness of the compression flap. The unit is very basic. Whether it remains calibrated for quite a while won't be known for sure.

The package arrived when it was supposed to. As soon as I opened the case, I found a plastic container that contained the refractometer safely. To protect the refractometer, it is surrounded by rubber foam. There is an adjustable eye piece that allows for clear viewing of the scale. It is very easy to use. It is easier to read a color scale in blue.

Even when calibrated, the device does not work properly Despite being calibrated, the readings are still inaccurate. A different brand may work for you.

The decision was made to purchase a refractometer to save time while cleaning up, keep wort from being wasted. When I tested it with RO water, it worked perfectly. My purchase was definitely a good one.
